It's such a worrying time waiting for the results. Even if you go privately for regular screening, you still have to wait a week or more to hear. I'm guessing that's maybe because two doctors have to check the films, and there aren't always that many specialists on duty in the clinic?
@sodapop I too was told immediately when I went for screening abroad. Well, actually, I was ushered straight into another room for an ultrasound there and then to confirm or rule out the findings. I assume this is to have all the necessary information to hand for any follow up, and saves getting the patient back in again.
There is, however, a one stop clinic isn’t there on the NHS? Is this where the GP refers you?
