Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry outside here in brackley at the moment.
Today will be spent at home as I shall watch the penultimate stage of the Tour of Spain on TV , plus will also see on TV again the Tour of Britain men's cycle race , which comes close to brackley as well .
Otherwise health front OK at the moment .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from Durham. It’s grey, still and wet, cool too. So different from my Sis-in-Law in Cheshire who has basked in sun and heat all week.
Little Dog finally went home yesterday. A simple hour long drive that doubled, down to volume of traffic and roadworks. I’m going to finish packing for my flight to Cyprus later today. I always take too much!
Congratulations to FGT2 and himself and all other GN’s celebrating anything this weekend.
Best wishes to all. X

Morning and it’s not raining in S Hants, but very soggy.
Wishing FGS and himself a very happy Anniversary weekend 🥂🎉🥳.
Smashing picture Ash and Mizuna.
That sounds horrendous Blossoming I hope you get some sleep and the pain eases.
Newspaper today and I might get into the garden if it dries up a little, my son and his partner are calling in at some point. Sausage and mash tonight.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Dreich here.
I forgot to post so lost my long message.
Briefly: foraging expedition today.

I love the smiles from Ash and
Mizuna

I hope Blossoming has a better day.
I wish everyone some joy today.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
It was the WI travelling coffee morning yesterday and it was fun. We met at a local pick your own/garden centre. I had hoped to buy raspberries but there was none at all! I bought gooseberries instead which happen to be OH’s favourite fruit.

OH still has honey to sort out. His bees have produced so much this time and he has run out of jars. He is storing it in large food quality plastic buckets for the moment.
I have a click and collect from Waitrose but otherwise a quiet day.

Have a good day everyone, especially those of you with pain or difficulties.

Good morning all from a damp and drizzly North Leicestershire.

Not sure what is going on today.

Marydoll Sat 07-Sept-24 08:05:08

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, yesterday was glorious.

Dear Blossoming, I hope the pain subsides after a sleep.

Glad to hear you had a great day, Ash and Mizuna. It is such a surprise and joy, when we meet new friends at our age. I feel the same about the Glesca Grannies.

Yesterday was full on. To my surprise, the Primary Five schoolchildren were at Mass. Dollie's teacher called me over to say hello to Dollie 😍 and told me that she loved having her in the class. #proud gran.
Then a former colleague from a different school, came and wrapped her arms around me. I was a bit overwhelmed.
Finally, the P.P. stood on the altar and thanked everyone for all their support. I was stunned when he pointed at me and said, I want to particularly thank MD for everything she has done to support me and the parish.
I was stunned, he is a man of very few words and I don't like being in the limelight!
I felt my eyes filling up

I have another busy day ahead, attending a lengthy Disocesan Safeguarding meeting, then rushing back to open up for Vigil Mass with our new P.P. I am apprehensive about meeting him.
All I really want to do is rest after another dreadful night!
I was supposed to be lunching with one of the Co-ordinators, a former school friend, but the timing is too tight.

GM, if you can't get anyone to help with connecting your printer, PM me and I will try and help. I have an idea what the problem is, depending on if it is a USB connection or WiFi.

Congratulations to all who are celebrating significant events!
Have a pleasant day folks .

P.S. I have tried to write a novellita, rather than a novella. Nae luck, I did try Urms! 😉

Good morning from a cloudy Suffolk but we expect sun later.

Lots of exciting things happening to people this weekend. Ihope all have a glorious time. And great to hear about your very successful get together yesterday Mizuna and Ash. I bet you’ve already thought of another one.

I had an excellent catch up with my dear friend yesterday at a cafe in the grounds of gardens where there is an annual sculpture trail. This year they also have a visiting acrobatic troupe so we’re in the process of erecting a big top for the weekend performances.

Nothing planned for today apart from the usual dog walk and shopping delivery so am looking forward to time in the summerhouse with my kindle.

Hope all have a good weekend and those feeling under the weather find relief from their symptoms.

Marydoll Sat 07-Sept-24 08:07:25

Georgegran, have a great holiday. I have many happy memories of both Cyprus and Malta.

Good morning everyone from a very grey and overcast Northampton, hoping the sun will grace us with its presence for the first rugby match of the season this afternoon. We are playing a friendly against Leinster, an Irish team, and it will give the boys a run out. I know it will be a brilliant atmosphere! DS and DGD 2 are joining me, they have DD's and her DH's tickets as they are on holiday.

Was going to go and watch the men's Tour of Britain cycle race later this morning; it starts and finishes today in Northampton, and passes less than half a mile.from my house, but it will leave me short of time to get to rugby as we have an early kick-off today. May change my mind.

Yesterday was beautiful, very warm and sunny and I sat out in the garden when I returned from my shopping trip.

Hoping all have a good Saturday.

Good morning everyone from a dry, mild south Manchester where temperatures will rise to 22°C Alexa tells me.

Well - 50 years ago today I was wearing this dress. It was hired (ahead of the curve on sustainability weren’t we?). My hair had been done at René Claro’s in Manchester City centre. I’d grown my nails and put on my own nail polish (no nail bars on every high street in 1974!). Nina Ricci ‘L’air du Temps’ was my perfume that day. It rained heavily on the way to our reception at Lancashire County Cricket Club on Talbot Road. An aunt said “happy is the bride the rain falls on”. She was trying to cheer me up I thought as no photographs outside were possible - but her words were prophetic indeed.

We honeymooned at a caravan site in Rhyl and returned to start making mortgage payments to the Abbey National on our semi.

We have two daughters, two sons in law and two grandchildren who are very excited for the party tonight! Himself organised it all. It gave him something positive to aim for and how lucky are we to be able to celebrate together tonight with 60 dear family and friends? Life is good at present and we are so very grateful.

Good morning woke early with aches and pains but nothing unusual, hubby still asleep. Had day off yesterday and picked up new car up still getting used to it. Had a lovely call last night son had received news he’d got the job he went for this week. Uplifting and lovely to hear my boy doing well. Misty here and weather just weird one day warm next day cold? Busy day going out for some shopping then a meal tonight to celebrate son’s news. Have a good day all whatever your doing.

Good morning all from a foggy Angus coast. I think it's steam after the very warm and beautiful day yesterday! The sun is trying to break through now, so I hope it manages to make it at some point.
What a lovely photo of you both, Mizuna and Ash. I'm glad you enjoyed your meet up yesterday.
Blossoming so sorry about your pain flowers
Happy Golden anniversary to Urms and himself, and I hope glammagran enjoys her daughter's wedding party.
Yesterday's lunch meet-up with a friend was lovely - three hours of non-stop chat, mostly about our new great-grandchildren, with lots of oohing and aahing over photos. The sun shone hotly, but the view out over the sea was not so good because of the heat haze, the precursor to today's fog.
Today will be just a day of pottering around at home - always enjoyable, particularly when the sun shines!
I wish everyone an enjoyable day too, doing whatever makes you happy x

Harris27 Sat 07-Sept-24 08:13:57

Congratulations friedgreentomatoes have a lovely evening. Beautiful picture.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 07-Sept-24 08:15:46

Good morning from the South Downs. It is dry although cloudy after 2 solid days of unremitting rain.

The bees are out - catching up I suppose. The squirrel is busy burying the nuts I put out - just in case I forget to feed him in the winter. The cobs and hazels will soon be ripe and he will have his fill of them. So much generosity for the squirrels as summer turns to autumn. Acorns, beechmast, hazels, walnuts, berries and so forth. They can eat conkers which most species can’t. So this time of year they can gorge as they play and store away the surplus for the winter.

The juvenile starlings now have almost entirely their adult plumage. The new parents of next spring.

I might get to plant the amaryllis today with luck. Last week I planted 50 saffron crocus. I have a mind to harvest my own saffron, dry it and use in a saffron cake - which I adore. My grandmother always used to say that lb for lb saffron was more expensive than gold. She was right!

Good to read of the happy day spent in Torquay - did you catch the Riviera mizuma😊. I used to love that ride from Exeter to Bodmin especially.

blossoming I hope you sleep well, and pain free.

Enjoy your day all

Peace and harmony

Good morning from a grey and wet NE.
DS and family are coming today. It is GD1's 19th birthday tomorrow but she will be spending the day with her BF.
GD has asked me to make her favourite meal of mince and dumplings because she is off to university next week.
Lunch out was really enjoyable yesterday, we had three courses and a very nice white wine.

Happy holidays to those travelling.
Happy Golden anniversary FGT.
Have a good weekend.
