Happy Birthday Monk08 🎉🥳🥂enjoy your day.
Which British song sums up the 1960s for you?
Ethical question - how do you feel about second chance??
Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and its also raining here in brackley at the moment.
Today will be spent indoors with watching the finales of the Tours of Spain and Britain on TV.
Otherwise a quite day may break my routine and have a Chinese take away later .
Health wise seem OK .
Take Care,
Mick
Happy Birthday Monk08 🎉🥳🥂enjoy your day.
Good morning from a now sunny Suffolk after rain in the night I think.
I only think that because the glass topped table in the back yard is wet.
DGD1 who is off to University on Friday for what in our day was ‘Freshers’ week’ has invited us out for lunch. Her chosen venue is the beach cafe in Dunwich( you know it well Gingster) for fish and chips. This has been a family favourite since DD1 was 2…she is now 48…..
Hopefully the sun will continue so we,and our dogs can enjoy the beach.
Hope today is a good one for all.
Good morning all from a wet Black country, it's rained nonstop from 9 yesterday evening.
Today I am 71 we are out to lunch with family at a local bistro.
Mizuna hope you get your roof sorted asap and what one lucky Dgd.
Hope fgt2 had a great evening dancing the night away at her party.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and safe travels those on the move ☀️.
Good morning everyone from Severnside. We have a grey sky and when I got up a beautiful rainbow.
No housework got done yesterday after all. When I was about to start I thought I’d just sit for a moment and have a look at some craft things I’ve been given. I ended up doing some of it and then went on to look at phots from years ago. Funny to see the photos of DH and DD together and realise she is now older than he was in them.
I’ve some crafting to do today and I will do the tidying up.
Could your friend try wearing one hearing aid at a time Bellasnana allowing the other to dry out and then swop.
Enjoy your roasts all ☔️🌺
Sounds really interesting grandmabatty enjoy your evening!
Good morning everyone from Inverness, another grey misty start to the day. No rain here yesterday but the mist lingered until about lunchtime until the sun arrived
Hoping Iris settles into school soon gMattie and enjoys it
Hoping your DD is much better today Bellas, poor girl
I’m off to DD2s later to help with a few jobs, then DGS is coming back here for a sleepover tonight. No doubt he’ll be wanting us to play some board game together!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 13° and foggy. It didn't lift yesterday until late on. Bellasnana I hope your daughter recovers soon.
Yesterday I had a nice catch up with a friend. I didn't do much the rest of the day, a little housework and washing.
Today I need to go to Aldi as I've run out of bread and other bits. Then, this afternoon, I'm attending the premiere of a film about my art tutor at The Macrobert Art Centre in Stirling University. I'm in it in a little interview about her work. Afterwards I'm invited back to her house for drinks. I haven't decided yet if I'll go, but the film will be interesting. So a rather different Sunday for me!
Good morning everyone from mid Essex where it’s grey again. No thunderstorm in the night, for which I was grateful! But some rain would be useful at sometime. I’m debating whether to pull up the tomato plants, they’re ripening very slowly now and the grey skies and humidity aren’t helping.
My neighbour and I went to a craft fair at the church yesterday, which was interesting and I saw lots of people that I know. My neighbour knew most people there!
Family may call in today, I will get one of them to change a light bulb on the landing which keeps flickering. The lampshade is very dusty and I can’t reach it. I daren’t get up a ladder to do it myself in case I wobble off it.
I hope that fgt2 had a wonderful party yesterday.
I hope that Sunday is kind to us all.
Morning Mick, morning All from a soggy corner of Somerset.
Enough rain now, the car park puddles are lakes and the bird bath is a waterfall. Felt, well, weird is the only way I can describe it yesterday, other than put together a slow cooker pot full of chilli I could face nothing planned. Probably just the result of three nights with very little sleep. In any case I’m feeling more together this morning and plan to tackle outstanding admin.
Hope hearing aids and tummy recover bellasnana, much as this rain gets me down I’d struggle in the heat you have experienced this summer.
Enjoy what you can of the day everyone.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very foggy, cool South Yorkshire. It’s going to be a wet day. I was supposed to be watching GS play football against one of our local teams today but they’ve changed the time of the match so I’ll not make it. They are due here to eat afterwards and I can’t be in two places at once. DS was ill yesterday so he didn’t come down but I had a productive day sorting out redundant bed linen and cleaning windows. Chicken curry for a very late family lunch.
Have the best day you can folks.
Morning everyone from East London.
Thunderstorms in the night and I wondered how wet it was outside the front door and there on the steps of the path was a hedgehog! So pleased as I didn't think we had them round here. Must see what to feed them and leave some food out.
The family is here today. Slow cooked beef and roast veg.
Have the best day possible.
Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It looks grey and damp.
A quiet day I think apart from ironing! I’m driving to Worthing tomorrow for my uncle’s funeral on Tuesday morning. I’ve booked a hotel for Monday night. I’m not sure what to wear to the funeral. Probably black.
Our Local History Society has a talk this afternoon. Unbelievably someone has written their PhD thesis on the village and it is now published in book form. It will be interesting to hear what he has to say.
I thought I would make a shepherd’s pie for dinner and a crumble. I am experimenting with the joys of a crumble and this one will have pineapple and strawberries.
Have a good day everyone. I hope FGT2 had a wonderful party and her head isn’t aching too much!
Good morning from Malta. Still unbearably hot and humid here.
A stressful day yesterday as DD1 ended up in A&E with suspected food poisoning. DD3 had called an ambulance for her in the night (it arrived promptly) and had sat with her for hours so I went and took over.
The heat is terrible which didn’t help. I was able to bring DD1 home in the evening, she seemed a bit better. She missed her flight to Italy but is hoping to go today if she feels up to it.
My friend has been suffering as her hearing aids have both stopped working due to getting wet with sweat. We will have to find somewhere tomorrow to get them sorted but until then I’m going to have to shout!
Mass this morning and then we’ll see how we feel. I’m exhausted to be honest, it’s so hot it just drains you.
Have a good day all.☀️
Good morning from a wet W Kent where we had a thunderstorm at 2.30 this morning, everything soaking wet. The gardener finished cutting back the back garden hedge yesterday and various bits of electrical work in the house are now done. Next the garden fence, funny how all these things line up to be done together.
Today is usual routine with chat to DB, soon off to India on holiday.
Best wishes
Good morning from soggy s somerset, rain and more rain
My day was made yesterday, my new mop arrived, oh the small things on a grey day. I used it and it was very efficient, much better than my eco flat microfibre mop, which I will keep for quick in-between sessions
I had to make an amazon return, walked .25 of a mile to my nearest evri printing/wrapping station. A nice young man sorted my qr code and I didn`t have to do anything. I was home in 20 minutes and must have caught the rainless interlude
An indoor day again today, must do some sewing, at least the floors are spotless and so is the kitchen and the en suite, it all gets done on rainy days
Archers today and the yummy special raw cheese that I treat myself to now and then, that and the small expensive crackers
I will dress in layers today, house temperature is definitely falling, albeit slowly
Have a good day
Good morning all from a very soggy North Leicestershire. The sky is getting lighter now with lots of clouds.
Quiet day here today after we have been to drop some stuff off with DD3. Roast chicken later.
Good morning from the fourth day of unremitting rain on the South Downs.
I’ve not been able to plant the amaryllis and they won’t get done now for another week as we are off walking in the New Forest for a few days, tomorrow.
Yesterday the squirrel spent the entire morning emptying his feeder and burying the contents in the garden, he was soaked but didn’t seem to mind. In the end he broke the lid, so DH had to trog out in the rain to mend it so that the rest of the food didn’t get soaked.
The bees are still busy despite the rain, but the butterflies are nowhere to be seen. Red admirals are abundant when the sun shines, but we also see the occasional comma and speckled wood and holly blue amongst others. Buddleia of course attracts them, but they love the Ivy and the odd apple that I put out for the birds.
I shall begin my autumn clear up when I return from our break. There is always the tension between tidying the garden for the winter or leaving it for the sheltering and feeding wildlife. I generally settle for a bit of tidying but leaving important stuff like seed heads for the birds and shelter (nepeta) for ladybirds etc. but some simply can’t wait so must be composted to provide food for the soil next spring.
Enjoy your day all.
Peace and harmony
Good morning from a damp N Surrey. Thunder at 4.00 woke me up. Not sure if it is just grey or rainy out there.
I have been moaning about the rain and didn't think about the farmers and harvest time and what a problem heavy rain is for them.
Another cup of coffee is calling me.
Meant to add I hope Georgesgran had an easy journey to Cyprus yesterday and has a lovely holiday.
Blossoming 🤞 you’re improving.
Morning from S Hants it’s dark so no idea of the weather, we didn’t get the forecast storms though. Yesterday was dull with light showers, I read the paper, cleaned bathrooms and cooked beetroot. Today MrJ will watch our grandson play his first league football game just up the road, I need to sort through my part of the wardrobe and get jumpers ready. I hope Iris settles gMattie it’s a difficult transition for some.

Good morning from a very wet Cornwall. I've just walked through a soggy patch of carpet in my hallway, where water is dripping off the ceiling light. This building has a dodgy roof. A call to my landlord today methinks. 😆
Well grandMattie, I've known all sorts of things in church over the years, including pots of jelly, but never a stuffed lemur. 🤣🤣
My granddaughter is in heaven because her mum has sourced a pony for her to ride every weekend, not attached to a riding school. Yesterday she rode it into a river for the first time. What a very fortunate little girl she is.
Today I'm going to Perranporth which I'm sure will be empty enough to stride out on now that the schools are back and it's raining. 😊
Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire. I’m not sure what the weather is doing yet.
Yesterday turned out to be a warm day, it’s so good to feel the sunshine. We had a good day with the DGCs, listening to their chat was a tonic. Their parents enjoyed the cricket and were able to go for dinner together which doesn’t happen often.
Driving back home after dark we passed several fields where farmers were still working by the lights on their huge harvesters. A very long day for them.
Mass this morning then I must sort through several bags of stuff from DS’s house to see if any of it is worth passing on to the charity shop, the rest will go to the recycling centre or the tip.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning from a dry (but with showers expected) Torbay. Yesterday we had rain from lunchtime onwards.
Belated congratulations to Mr & Mrs FriedGreenTomatoes2. I hope you had a wonderful evening celebrating your Golden Anniversary. 💕
It’s early days for Iris at her new school and a big change from the primary school routine, grandMattie. I hope she soon settles.
Early service then another indoor day will be welcome.
A blessed Sunday to you all. 🦩🥰✝️💐🦩
Good morning from mid-Lancs. Still dark and I think I hear rain......
Good morning from a sodden Bristol. It has rained heavily and steadily since about 9 last night, mercifully without wind. More is promised until this afternoon. And the temperatures will struggle to get to the mid teens. Summer? What summer?
I saw the family yesterday evening. Iris was very quiet about school, then started the “I don’t want to go to school” stuff. I don’t think it’s more than adapting to the new situation rather than not liking school.
Today I have church, where we’ve been asked to bring a stuffed toy. Iris has lent me a lemur.
Have a blessed Sunday, enjoy it. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
