an appeal to get your drains sorted out

I think most of have encountered the deluge of rain over the last few days,so I am going round my immediate area and check if any of the drains are blocked and report any blocked drains personally to my local council.Can I request as many of you to do something similar.Its a horrible sight to see flood water rushing through your home not to mention when you see cars under two foot of water.As we approach leaf fall season this could help alleviate flooding in your area.

I wish other people would get off their backsides to do drain clearing. I do the storm drain near me several times a year, my house is safe btw but so many people wait for other people to clear the drains of leaves and detritus. It never happened in the old days, community spirit was alive and these jobs got done, no-one had to be asked

I did my storm drain 3 days ago, kneeling on a kneeler, dustpan and brush, rubber gloves and a trowel. Also cleared all detritus that might flow in with rain, down the communal turning area.
