Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dark but dry start here in brackley at the moment.
My usual daily bus trip to Bicester ,have planned to get my haircut whilst there before returning home .
The afternoon maybe a kip for an hour , and then relax .
Take Care,
Mick

Welcome Tizliz👋 and welcome back Susan56

Tizliz Tue 10-Sept-24 13:21:03

Am I the furthest north? North of Inverness. Though I have been on Gransnet for many years I have never posted on this thread before.

Wet, windy, cold here then the sun comes out to tempt me into gardening then rains again

madeleine45 Tue 10-Sept-24 11:15:21

good morning to Mick and all GNs, from a very breezy but dry north yorks.. Very late morning as yesterday was at the dentist and generally a tough day which meant my back was very bad . Consequently poor night etc. So today just want to get things cleared up here, so plod on with basics and take it sterady. Have a good day everyone

Good morning from a bright cool Co Armagh, there was rain in the night
I got word from the surgery to ring them , yesterday morning , my ear spray to be stopped and to use drops , no reason given , the infection has cleared and I have stopped the spray anyway
Anyway , the very pleasant lady on the phone told me prescription had been sent to our local pharmacy for me to collect !
Off I trotted in the afternoon, to be met by blank faces !
I’ll try again later today
At least I can get the aids back in my ears , I don’t realise how much they help till I have to do without them !
Thinking about Marydoll and others with sadness

Good morning from cold, wet Lancaster. I had a restless night and am struggling to keep awake.

Happy Tuesday 🌺

A later good morning from a grey Northampton, outlook not good. Late because I slept until 8.45 this morning! And the cat has been sitting on my knee as usual for half an hour so unable to post using my Kindle tablet. She has just retired to the arm of the sofa and is having a wash and brush-up.

A good yoga class yesterday, then three of us went for coffee in the newly opened cafe just round the corner.
Cut the back grass after lunch, and spent the rest of the afternoon reading.

It will be an early lunch today then a hop on the bus to get to the start point for our Tuesday walk. May cut the front grass when I get back.

Lovely to see Susan back posting!

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from s somerset, grey with some rain later

I was up as usual, internet was down, internal problem, now sorted

Two Indian fabric lengths are out, I am pleased to be helping to support artisan villagers. Beady eye on the weather, at least they will be wind-blown if not quite dry. I will need to finish drying indoors today

Tomato sauce made yesterday, 13 meal sizes frozen, all from my own outdoor tomatoes, frozen as they ripened. Nice to get up to a tidy kitchen, I have been making an effort before bed, every day

Kimchi-making this afternoon, long session of slicing, grating and chopping but I am making a large jar again, the last one only has a few more portions left. I keep it in the fridge once fermented. I love it, mine is not too hot

Have a good day

Good morning ick and all from a blustery northwest coast. Frustrating day yesterday, eventually going in to the dentist to find they have not referred me to the hospital for my surgery as requested by the initial hospital applied to. More bother today to chase it up. However, have been put on the short notice waiting list for my hernia op, so that’s good news as it could happen maybe in a few weeks.

Cheered myself up with a delicious tuna melt panini in my favourite cafe, followed by a little shopping (when the going gets tough, the tough go shopping).
Long FaceTime with sister in the south in the evening.
Music club today and DS coming this evening, I have two nice lamb steaks awaiting him.

Lovely photos, good news Rosesandlilac and hello Susan🌺
.

EkwaNimitee Tue 10-Sept-24 08:54:24

Good morning Mick and everyone from a very wet Carlisle. However, the sky is blue on the far horizon so it may turn out like yesterday when it was sunny by mid-morning.
Busy-ness wise it will be as yesterday for me--a morning of various chores followed by an afternoon of admin and holiday researching. I may also start back on the project of reviewing books for disposal to the charity shop. A whole bookcase full has gone so far. There is also the garden to attend to if it dries up sufficiently, I have a bag full of bulbs to plant amongst other jobs.

Do have a good day/travels/holidays everyone.

RosiesMaw2 Tue 10-Sept-24 08:40:34

Goodness it’s cooled down this week! Good morning all from N Bucks.
Taking a friend out for coffee along with 2 others as it’s her 84th birthday 🥳 🎂 then I think I might be pessimistic and sort out some summer clothes I fear I am unlikely to wear again this year and put them to one side.
Wishing FGT and anybody still or going away happy hols and a pleasant day to you all.

Grannyme6 Tue 10-Sept-24 08:40:18

Good morning from an overcast south coast. We came back from the Isle of Wight yesterday afternoon. Our last visit in the morning was to be to The Poo Museum at Sandown (DH’s idea) but it was unexpectedly closed - I can’t say I was sorry …..
It’s definitely a ‘boy thing’Georgesgran and Granmabatty!
So I popped in to a glass-blowing studio and naturally bought a couple of lovely items as a momento of our little holiday.
Hoping for a gentle day for all, especially those with difficulties and sadness.

GrannySomerset Tue 10-Sept-24 08:39:40

Raining and much more forecast but as I am going to the supermarket and then out for lunch it doesn’t really matter. It definitely looks and feels like autumn.

Lovely to see Susan posting, as well as a beautiful wedding venue, news of a possibly completed summerhouse, and serious ironing intentions. Safe travel to all in the move.

Taichinan Tue 10-Sept-24 08:38:44

Good morning all. A lovely sunny autumn morning - 11° and a brisk breeze on the Angus coast. It feels chilly.
Lovely to see you back Susan!
Oh that looks so lovely FGT. Have a wonderful time.
Lovely photos of the reception venue glammagran. Glad you all had a great day
So glad your bloods came back showing nothing untoward Ash.
RosesandLilac at last!! I hope you will hold a Grand Opening of the summer house! Enjoy it - it's been such a long frustrating wait.
Yes, I think it is probably a 'boy thing's - I can remember one of my DSs had a great attachment to his poo but can't recall any issues with any of the girls.
DGD3 completed her first night shift last night - there was a lovely pic of the sunrise over the hotel waiting for me this morning, so I know she survived!
While she was busy working I was busy being awake - dreadful night's sleep after an early disturbing dream and I feel good for nothing today. But tai chi here I come!
Enjoy your days everybody and make the most of the autumnal beauty around us. 🍂 🍁 ☀️

Susan56 Tue 10-Sept-24 08:36:52

Thank you for the lovely welcome back messages🥲

monk08 Tue 10-Sept-24 08:29:40

Good morning all from an overcast Black country.
Haven't read through yet I'm running late and have a early appointment with the bank, ironing to do on my return.
fgt2 have a lovely holiday and bring some sunshine back with you.
Safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed ☀️.

Gingster Tue 10-Sept-24 08:17:28

Good morning all and it’s dull with a chilly breeze here in Suffolk. The sea is high and a steel grey.
So we’ll have a blowy walk with the dog and a bit of tidying in the garden, plant some bulbs, then settle down with books and papers for the afternoon. I’ll sit in the summerhouse with a blanket listening to the radio and watching the sea change form and colour. A couple of days ago it was a turquoise green and very clear.

The season is changing so quickly.

Welcome back Susan 👋.
Sounds like a lovely wedding, Glammagran.
Take care and I hope you all have a good day. 🌻

baubles Tue 10-Sept-24 08:16:39

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire. It’s very bright and breezy now but the wild weather overnight kept me awake.

Good to see you back Susan. Glad your tests went well Ash.
Beautiful wedding venue Glammagran.

I got a fair amount of domestic duties done yesterday so I’m feeling quite virtuous now.

The ironing pile hasn’t gone down though so I’ll try to gee myself up to make a start on that.

Have the best day possible everyone.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 10-Sept-24 08:14:07

What a stunning venue glammagran! Beautiful.

Jaxjacky Tue 10-Sept-24 08:07:32

Morning from a grey S Hants, welcome back Susan56 good to see you.
Safe travels llfl and I hope the funeral passes smoothly.
It was dull most of yesterday until late afternoon when the sun peeked out, usual housework. We came third at quiz last night thanks to my daughter who smashed the music round.
We’ll set off later to Worthing, coats will be taken as tomorrow it’s getting colder, windy later today, we’re by the sea, so it’ll be bracing.

harrigran Tue 10-Sept-24 08:06:41

Good morning from a grey and rainy NE.
Got all the washing done and ironed yesterday, thankfully didn't hang it outside as we had frequent showers.
My hairdresser is coming this morning and then I will have a day to myself probably with my novel.
SIL is collecting his new car today, I will be his first passenger tomorrow.
Have a great holiday FGT

cornergran Tue 10-Sept-24 08:02:09

Morning Mick, morning All from a grey, windy and wet corner of Somerset. Such a contrast. Yesterday was warm and sunny.

Park and ride did it’s stuff to allow a thoroughly enjoyable few hours with a friend. The world was definitely put to rights. Worth the three hours travelling. An hour on the sea front with Mr C late afternoon made for a thoroughly pleasant day.

Back to routine today. Grocery delivery, change the bed and remove dust. I’m happy enough with that, pleases me when it’s all done.

Good to see you susan. Hope today goes as well as it can ladylfl. Drive carefully. Sounds an idyllic wedding glammagran, beautiful table settings. The end of the summerhouse saga is nigh roses, you must be relieved. Good news about your blood results ash although you’ve reminded me I’ve still not had feedback about those taken in a hospital a month ago in spite of two requests from me and one from the surgery. Frustrating.

Best get a wriggle on or the groceries will be here before I’m dressed. Have the best day you can everyone. Hope Tuesday is kind to us all.

luluaugust Tue 10-Sept-24 08:01:55

Good morning from a grey W Kent.
Glad you got a good result Ash
Welcome back Susan
Grandmabatty with five GS I think I am an expert on poo!
Quiet morning followed by U3A talk this afternoon.
Best wishes

Liberty Tue 10-Sept-24 08:00:31

Good morning from a chilly Suffolk where the temp is 12. The rooks are very noisy in the morning and sound as though they are busily making plans for the autumn.

DH noticed yesterday that the clock on the central heating control box( which must be at least 30 years old) was wrong. As he tried to put it right there was a fizzing noise which sounded decidedly unhealthy! It is now blank so the heating has not come on and the hot water is cool. Luckily our wonderful boiler man is coming this morning and said we probably need a new box.

We feel very lucky that we have such helpful, competent and reliable craftsmen to help us.

I’m off to meet a friend for coffee later in a local town about 6 miles away. D,our boiler expert, has a beautiful Labrador puppy who usually comes in his van,so DH is looking forward to seeing her as well.

I hope today is a good one for all.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 10-Sept-24 07:54:16

Good morning everyone from a damp, grey but mild south Manchester. Mild though. Alexa tells me it’s 15°C all day here, with cloudy skies.

But no matter! We are ✈️ off to the delightful resort of Es Caña this afternoon for ten days. I love this little holiday resort. A pretty horseshoe bay, Mediterranean to dip my toes in, restaurants a-plenty and Santa Eulalia 10 minutes away by bus or taxi from the square next to our hotel. We’ve been holidaying here regularly for 20 years, we love it that much!

This is the view from our hotel balcony. I think it’s magical.

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 10-Sept-24 07:53:15

Good morning from Oxfordshire where it’s dull and looks as though it’s about to rain.

Good to see you again Susan

Has anyone heard from Anniebach ?

I must get the Geraniums into the potting shed today to tidy them up before I bring them indoors for the Autumn/Winter, our night time temperatures are about to drop later this week and I don’t want to lose them. Apart from some ironing, I have an easy day today.

Hope everyone has a good day
