Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start to the day here in brackley at the moment.
Today ,usual routine although will be interesting as to getting the bus to Bicester ,as the annual fair which will be built up today usually take one bus stop ,creating a temporary one without shelter .
Health wise OK ,and cycling on TV this afternoon .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 6° and sunny, however I'm going back to bed. I've been up most of the night being unwell. Probably a virus. Sadly I'm missing the trip to Glasgow to meet up with the Glasgow Grans. Have a good day all

Good morning from 9degrees W Kent. Yesterday I sorted out my Winter clothes and found a jumper I have no recollection of buying, it is brightly patterned and I can’t imagine what I was on at the time! Got rid of quite a lot. Today off to our big shopping centre to buy birthday gifts. Two 18th birthdays coming up.
Bellasnana I used to really enjoy people coming to stay but also quickly get tired now
Fleas grand enjoy your meet up

Good morning all from a blustery Glasgow.

Pants, that is shock! New beginnings and all that.

I had an unexpectedly busy day, with church duties, including getting keys made for the church premises. Sadly, the cobbler, who makes them is closing down his shop today, after forty years. He is the twin of a priest I know and always gives me a great discount.
He told me that the pandemic and the fact that everyone wears trainers, has put paid to his business.

The former PP phoned me yesterday, he sounded more upbeat than I have heard him in ages, he spent many years in that town, so already knew many people. Thank goodness. A new start for him.

I'm off to meet the Glesca Grannies today. I was supposed to meet DD afterwards, but she is having to work from home, due to IT issues at work. I am quite disappointed.
Our numbers are low today, partly due to the fact that the grans are a group of jetsetters and many are away. They will be missed.
Safe journey to Jangran, who jets of to celebrate a very significant birthday, travelling in Canada.

Have a good day, folks.

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk where I hope it is going to be a bit warmer than yesterday which felt more like November than September.

Luckily our ever helpful heating engineer arrived mid morning with the right replacement part, regaled us with an update on his nearly 2 month old baby and left in less than an hour with us having heat and hot water. We are so grateful.

I’m off to my keep fit class shortly and then having coffee with 3 or 4 others from the group. I think we are planning to go to the cafe in the Adnams shop but I think we’ll be sitting inside rather than the small garden,in spite of the sun. I imagine there isn’t too much warmth yet.

GMB, I was so looking forward to seeing you. We are jinxed! Get well soon.

Taichinan Wed 11-Sept-24 07:58:56

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny blue skied Angus coast. A lovely start, but my goodness it's chilly!! A high of 13° is all that's forecast for us today I'm afraid.
Good to see you back again Pantglas though you're bound to be sad having sold your place in Spain, but onwards and upwards. Where to next I wonder?
Yesterday, having had practically no sleep the night before, was spent nodding off at every opportunity after tai chi and shopping. However I slept last night so I will be able to enjoy a lunch out with friends today - a first outing for some late autumn clothes methinks 😉
Have a good day everyone and I hope the sun shines for all - and is accident-free for Corner!

Good morning from a bright and sunny (so far) Oxfordshire, heating is on so the temperature has dropped as forecast.

I brought the Geraniums in yesterday, just before the torrential rain, all tidied up, it’s the only way they will survive the Winter.

Easy day today, no dog this week as MissOops wants her to get used to being at home with no Nephew, now that he has moved out.
She will still see him each week, he will visit and take meals back with him, plus shopping, but her day to day life will be transformed. Fingers crossed!
I need to get some bulbs to plant soon before the frosts start, to fill the void left by the geranium pots.

Have a good day everbody.

Sorry you are unwell Grandmabatty.Hope you feel better soon.

Grammaretto Wed 11-Sept-24 08:03:50

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's 6°, cold but sunny.
I'm looking forward to seeing some of you in Glasgow today.

The family who are to take refuge here from their flood repairs didn't
arrive but may next week.

I sold a --grubby‐- old arm chair yesterday to a young couple who say it's a mid
century design classic!

I am still attempting to de clutter in case I decide to put my house on the market.
Not as fast as you pantglas . You you must be in shock but it's probably sensible.

I hope you all have a lovely day whatever you get up to.

God morning, Michael and all GNs from a dry fairly bright South Yorkshire. I was falling asleep at eight o’clock last night, hung on until nine, and slept like a top last night. Being back at school was lovely yesterday. I was pleased to see a couple of children from last year and the rest were new and all very sweet. I hope Friday’s new cohort are as amenable. It was dry enough to walk to and from school.
Writers group at the library this afternoon.
Have the best day you can folks.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 11-Sept-24 08:09:53

Oops forgot we had men in laying new wooden flooring in one of the bedrooms.

Have to reorganise my day 🤣🤣🤣

Good morning from soggy Lancashire. It’s cold and raining and the thermometer says it’s 9°.

Stilllearning Wed 11-Sept-24 08:25:38

Good morning from sunny Skipton where I’ve had a wonderful few days with my sisters and brothers in law. We have been lucky with the weather, the hotel and food have been excellent and we have laughed all week.

Home today so I must get ready to pack up before enjoying breakfast.

Sorry to hear quite a few can’t make today’s meet up in Glasgow but I’m sure those who get there will have a lovely time, I’m really disappointed that I can’t be there, roll on next time.

Have a good day everyone, I hope we can all enjoy this lovely autumnal day.

Dunworking Wed 11-Sept-24 08:35:52

Good morning from a bright cold Glasgow.
I’m really looking forward to meeting all the Glasgow grans today for the first time…having lurked for so long! 😂
I’m also having an unexpected visit tonight from my eldest son ,who lives in Dubai ….going to be a lovely chatty day 🥰

harrigran Wed 11-Sept-24 08:41:59

Good morning from a sunny but very windy NE.
Yesterday I hoovered upstairs and put away all the ironed laundry. The rest of the day was spent reading.
SIL sent me a photo of his new car sitting in the garage, I was concerned that a 2024 car might not fit into a 1950s garage but it did. He likes to have the car under cover while he is at his other home abroad.
Today is shopping day which should be fun in the blustery wind.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone from a gorgeously sunny Es Caña in Ibiza! Highs of 29°C for the ten days we are here. Lovely. Perfect for a ‘fly and flop’ holiday.

Not long awake was zorsted. Someone was playing loud music until 3am. Aargh! Have to see how we go tonight as there’s no one on Reception apparently on Wednesdays. Strange.

Himself has just been out for water, milk & teabags for our room. Got a mug of tea now. Always the best start to a day.

Whilst he was brewing up (I know, #lazygran) I made myself useful and took this pic from our balcony! Boy it’s scorchio already!

Well, Himself has just finished his mug of tea (I’ve hardly started mine, we are SO different in everything) and so he’s gone to buy a Panama style straw hat from the little beach kiosk downstairs. When I’ve finally drunk my tea we will go down for breakfast. How lovely, just to choose it from the menu for 9 mornings!

Here’s the pic I just took.

Crikey it’s almost 10am here - I’d best jump into my swimsuit and kaftan!

aggie Wed 11-Sept-24 08:57:37

Good morning from a bright cold Co Armagh, I love the bright days !
DD3 is still here , working on line , I don’t see much of her in the day , as she keeps to office hours , but the evenings are chat time , she beat me at scrabble !!
Opening session of the village club this am , lots of chat !
Enjoy the day

Jaxjacky Wed 11-Sept-24 09:13:57

Morning from afresh Worthing in bright sun, we’ve just had a delicious cooked breakfast, hotel is great and 100m from the sea which was wild yesterday.
A pier walk later, then a church visit for its stained glass and frescos, the rest of the day is flexible.
I hope you feel better soon Grandmabatty.
Swimsuits and sarongs FGT 👍

Another later good morning from a bright and sunny Northampton, although showers are forecast this afternoon. I'm afraid I put the heating on when I got up as it felt really chilly, and last.night I actually slept in my dressing gown as I was so cold!

Had a good walk with the.group again yesterday; then I walked two thirds of the way home, called into the paper shop and paid my bill, and then got the bus the rest of the way as it started.raining. Torrential rain then ensued until late evening.

Must put the hoover on charge and then take it upstairs today; the cats have been shedding all over the stairs.
Then I have to deal with the apples that I picked from my espalier the other day. Will probably lightly stew them and then freeze.

Glesca Grans, have a lovely meet-up!
And have a good day everyone else!

Taichinan Wed 11-Sept-24 09:28:10

Wonderful news Kitty!
Sorry you're unwell Grandmabatty and having to miss the Glesga grannies meet up.

GrannySomerset Wed 11-Sept-24 09:29:30

Cold, windy and sunny this morning - it even smells like autumn so need to dress accordingly, which means socks for the first time for several weeks. A potter in the garden this morning and then singing this afternoon so that is today planned.

My lovely next door neighbour told me yesterday that his cancer is no longer treatable; as he is the carer for his wife with dementia he and the family are going to have to make plans for a difficult future and I am so sad for them.

Have a great Glasgow meet up - doubt the volume will be any lower just because there are fewer of you!

Mizuna Wed 11-Sept-24 09:34:56

Can anyone see this photo? I can't open FGT's and couldn't post this one earlier. I've restarted my phone and never had problems before.

Beechnut Wed 11-Sept-24 09:52:57

I can’t see it, nor can I see FGT’s.

NanaBabs1 Wed 11-Sept-24 09:57:31

No Mizuna, just a funny little icon. Same with FGT’s view from her balcony! Thought it was just me!

Beechnut Wed 11-Sept-24 10:07:05

I’ve got a question mark inside a square box surrounded by a rectangular box.

👋morning all
