Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start to the day here in brackley at the moment.
Today ,usual routine although will be interesting as to getting the bus to Bicester ,as the annual fair which will be built up today usually take one bus stop ,creating a temporary one without shelter .
Health wise OK ,and cycling on TV this afternoon .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and followers, it’s dry here at the moment in south Glos after yesterday afternoon’s torrential downpours 🙄. The dog and I got our afternoon walk in before it tipped down, thankfully.
Yesterday I finished crocheting my blanket and started (another) pair of socks - knitting socks is mindless activity for me, I can do it on automatic while listening to audiobooks.
Apparently the carpenter doing the summerhouse might come tomorrow, DH is painting the interior and I hope that I can move my bits and pieces back into it by the weekend. I have bought a heater for it so I will be using it as much as I can even though the summer’s over now.
I think it’s meant to be dry today so I will get the washing done and go outside and potter around deadheading etc. I do love my little garden.
Have a lovely day 🌹

Good morning from a cool but dry Torbay, expected to be windy (again!) later.

I hope the weather is kind for the fair, Mick, in your neck of the woods. It felt almost wintry here yesterday!

This morning, I hope to participate in the second part of an online forum about Stroke recovery although I’ve yet to receive the link. Last week's session was useful but rather long…. or is that due to my attention span?!

This afternoon I’m hosting Wednesday Club as the usual chap is away. We’re reviewing the August play, Blackadder, and discussing our holidays, if any!

RosesandLilac: you could write a book entitled The Summerhouse Saga! As a child, I used to be fascinated by seeing my grandmother knitting socks because of the use of four needles.

Happy hump day! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from Bristol. It is still dark, the temperatures are low and will struggle to reach the mid teens…

We had a good meeting with the complex management, the wringers did so but for fewer things and for less time. Explanations made and concerns raised noted.

The afternoon was spent making apple chutney- 15 pots. They need to be washed and labelled.

I’ve got an eye test this morning. They always leave me feeling exhausted and headachy due to my complicated corrections, so not much this afternoon. I’ll miss the book group.

I was distressed by the removal of WFA vote last night. Although it will affect me, especially with my recently straightened circumstances, the threatened removal of bus passes and the single person reduction in rates would cause me much greater distress.

Hope you have a good day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Whingers not wringers….

Good morning from Shropshire.A day of sunshine and showers forecast.

Yesterday was a mixed day.I noticed a marked deterioration in my mum’s physical and mental health in the very short time since I last saw her.I will attempt to speak to her dr today.
DD and I went shopping on the way home and then to Welsh class where we were both surprised at how much we had remembered.

Today will be a quiet day at home.DH has his second shingles vaccination this morning.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Good morning all from the Black country, still dark but a clear sky.
DH fishing hence the early start.
Depending on how the weather is as its heritage week I shall find somewhere to visit possibly Bishop Asbury cottage.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️

Mizuna Wed 11-Sept-24 06:35:15

Can't post easily for some reason. Sun today in Cornwall. To St Ives yesterday. Pants to the WFA withdrawal, I'll be much colder. Back tomorrow hopefully without gremlins.

karmalady Wed 11-Sept-24 06:36:29

Good morning from s somerset. Sun, wind and rain today, cooler

Another blanket went on my bed last night and my bedsocks went on me

Very busy yesterday but nice and productive. Kimchi is made and will start burping soon. Spelt pizzas made, one eaten and one for today, with the best cheese, raw milk pitchfork from somerset. It does not need much for the nicest taste

GM, my lib dem mp voted for the wfa cut, I am shocked and the word will spread fast around this area, which has many just-managing pensioners

I cut out a long-sleeved dress last night, after pattern adjustments. Will be working on that today, nice for autumn, with warm tights. I am not cycling while the roads are muddy, I need a walk but then again, I stand and move about most of the day plus up and down stairs endlessly

Have a good day

Bellasnana Wed 11-Sept-24 06:39:20

Good morning from Malta where it has been very windy and slightly cooler.

Feeling terribly tired, probably due to being out of my usual lazy routine. It’s lovely having my friend here but also a bit stressful.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Good morning from a bright but cold Essex coast.
I arrived home yesterday lunchtime after a lovely few days with DD2 and family.
DGD1 enjoyed her induction day at college and discovered that two other girls on her course live locally. She now has someone to travel with.
I have an early appointment with the hygienist then DH has a lung CT scan. It's in a local supermarket mobile unit so I will shop whilst he has it done.
Enjoy the day everyone xx

Morning Mick, morning All from a chilly, dry corner of Somerset.

Caused a bit of an issue yesterday when I moved a bathroom stool. Mr C had prepared for floor washing by putting the bathroom scales on it, the stool tipped slightly, down went the scales on to the ceramic tiled floor and we had glass - everywhere. Sounded like a bomb. It took forever to gather it all and thoroughly sweep, vacuum and finally wash. Made me jittery, Mr C just laughed. It had its positive side as we braved the rain in the afternoon to buy some more in a store with a coffee shop which just happens to have very good cake, excellent for restoring equilibrium.

Hoping for a less accident prone day today as I’ll drive us to a museum to meet friends, we’ll have coffee and chat, walk a bit, have lunch and chat, walk a bit more and chat some more. A good day ahead.

Hope Wednesday is kind to us all.

Good morning all, it’s cool but dry so far in South Lanarkshire.

I did a spot of ironing yesterday and, having had a look through my wardrobe, decided on outfits to take with me on a short break next week.

Looking forward to meeting up with the Glasgow Grans today. I expect there will be lots of chat.

Have the best day possible everyone.

NannyJan53 Wed 11-Sept-24 06:50:27

Good morning from a much brighter Black Country, after heavy rain yesterday afternoon.

Today we are over to visit MrJ's brother who last week had an operation. We were going to visit him in hospital on Sunday, but they sent him home, just 3 days after a quite serious Op. An hours drive for us, so going this morning.

Tonight I am out for a meal with some of my walking group pals. The first one of the 'supper club', some of us decided to start. We will meet every other month.

Wishing you all the best day possible

Well I’m back Good Morning folks! 🤗

Have sold Mi Casa (unexpectedly quickly) and cleared, cleaned and cried over the thought of no more jollies to lovely Spain 🇪🇸😢

A loaded 🚘 and leisurely drive through stunning scenery and smooth sailings on ⛴️ home to my little Welsh nest has made me feel a little better but I’m still stunned at the speed at which it all happened 🫨. As my friends put it “You were only meant to be going for a holiday….”

MrPG is trying to reassure me that it’s time for new and different adventures so watch this space….🫣

I haven’t read much of your doings over the last few weeks so forgive me if I’ve missed all your celebrations 🥂 (here’s some Cava which I didn’t forget to bring home 😉) and hopefully not too many sadnesses 💐

Now to pack away chattels…quart into a pint pot anyone?

brook2704 Wed 11-Sept-24 07:09:47

Good morning everyone from a grey and cloudy Inverness
Oh pantglas that’s a surprise! I guess you made the decision very quickly and you’ve not had time to adjust yet… but I do think your DH is probably right, there’s lots of different adventures waiting for you to enjoy from now on!
I’m off on the train down to Glasgow this morning to meet up with the Glesca grans, I’m really looking forward to it. I’d best get a move on soon..
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings💐

GrannyGravy13 Wed 11-Sept-24 07:11:59

Morning everyone from S E Essex, the sky is blue with a chill in the air.

Washing machine is already on, I shall change the bed this morning before I go to the gym. After which I have an appointment with the holistic body work therapist. (Keeps me balanced and mobile)

Pantglas don’t look back, look forward to your coming adventures 👍🏻

Have a great day folks 🙋‍♀️

Redcar Wed 11-Sept-24 07:16:10

Good morning everyone from a sunny but chilly mid Essex. The heating came on this morning, so cooler indoors too.
We had some rain yesterday evening, which hopefully will help the later flowering plants.
I dug out my scarves and gloves yesterday, just in case! Bought some more compost so I can now get on with planting up the bulbs into pots.
Today I’ll go for a walk and then hope to cut back some very overgrown shrubs (& brambles and ivy) at the end of my garden,
Have a good day everyone.

Redcar Wed 11-Sept-24 07:20:15

Enjoy your meet up Glesca Grans!

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 11-Sept-24 07:22:59

Morning all from West Oxfordshire . It is good to be back after my trip to my uncle’s funeral. It all went well and it was good to catch up with my cousins, their children and grandchildren. My remaining uncle was there too.

Last night I listened to a free talk on zoom from The Independent- ‘Is the Shrinking Royal Family on the verge of collapse?’ It was very good. It is interesting though that it is the more liberal newspapers who support Harry and Megan.

I’m having my haircut today. It needs it as my fringe is in eyes!

Not sure about the rest of the day but it may involve ironing.

I hope the FGT2s are enjoying ‘Ibeefa’!

kittylester Wed 11-Sept-24 07:24:16

Good morning all from a cold and wet North Leicestershire.

Yesterday was a good day for the Lesters. DH was given good news at his cystoscopy appt and has been discharged.

DGS4 went to Wembley last night - a good night to pick.

Today our cleaner will be here at 9, DH has a volunteer drive, I have a hair appointment and this evening I am helping on an on line Carer's course.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Gingster Wed 11-Sept-24 07:27:16

Good morning and it’s bright and sunny , but very chilly here in the Suffolk coast.

Yesterday drizzled a lot but we did quite a lot of garden tidying, mainly deadheading and removing mint. It’s gone mad. The roots are so long and it’s growing through any cracks it can find. It’s breaking down the little wall around the patio too.

We’re still battling the snail invasion- bucket loads being thrown over the bank . We even had one on the inside of our bedroom window. Yuk! Any tips?

This evening we have a bar b q to go to (just as the weather has turned cold). It’s at the Christian conference centre just along the beach from us. They invite local residents every year and also have a Carol service at Christmas with lots of food laid on. Lovely welcoming people who work so hard.

Pants that must have been a spur of the moment decision. You know when you know.

Bellasnanna I always find having visitors tiring. You want people to have the best time, so it’s all go, when you just want to sit and relax, read a book, watch tv or potter.

Enjoy the day 🌻

Bellasnana Wed 11-Sept-24 07:31:10

Gingster, that’s it in a nutshell! Thanks for understanding.☺️

RosiesMaw2 Wed 11-Sept-24 07:36:49

Good morning all, nippy here!
Bellasnana I also think that when you are on your own, as you and I are now, you become accustomed to the silence .
I talk to the dog but she doesn’t say much back. so the presence of others and their conversation , while lovely, is nonetheless tiring!

grandMattie Wed 11-Sept-24 07:51:56

karma, my Labour MP was brave enough to vote against. I think a lot of the MPs were terrified of losing the whip…
Oh Pant, that was sudden and very brave. As someone said, look forwards. One door shuts, another opens. 🫂
