What Mael 13 meant was that the old lady is sitting on top of a fire wearing a SHORT sleeved top. If she was that cold she would be wearing a thick jumper with long sleeves.

People should think about the post before jumping on the wrong bandwaggon.

The thread is about typecasting old people Oreo. The cartoon is as a much typecasting as is the Guardian picture.

Never mind the hat being old fashioned, the social/ political cartoon remains a good and true one.

I thought Doris Jones looks more like a character from Dickens. Why not show an elderly person who isn’t a cartoon.

Doris Jones looks like an illustration from the 1960s, I haven’t seen a hat like that on a real person since then.
