Oreo

Well they’re hardly going to show a pensioner in a Chanel suit or a cashmere sweater are they? Not when they’re trying to emphasise that many pensioners need help for the Winter months.

OREO....... You have got the wrong end of the stick.

What Mael 13 meant was that the old lady is sitting on top of a fire wearing a SHORT sleeved top. If she was that cold she would be wearing a thick jumper with long sleeves.

People should think about the post before jumping on the wrong bandwaggon.

The thread is about typecasting old people Oreo. The cartoon is as a much typecasting as is the Guardian picture.

Never mind the hat being old fashioned, the social/ political cartoon remains a good and true one.

I thought Doris Jones looks more like a character from Dickens. Why not show an elderly person who isn’t a cartoon.

Doris Jones looks like an illustration from the 1960s, I haven’t seen a hat like that on a real person since then.

I prefer this one

It's about time the photo of an old woman, cup and saucer in hand in front of an electric fire, wearing a SHORT-SLEEVED t-shirt was deleted. Someone needs to tell her to put a nice, cosy cardi on!
