The plant I photographed doesn’t look like a teak tree to me grandMattie. The leaves are more abundant and very glossy.
To granmattie,a tv local presenter in Yorkshire had the same thing happen to him but after the press got hold of the story he was quickly reimbursed ,thousands of pounds involved ,Maybe because he was well known locally. It happened around the same time too .
A Good Morning to all. A bit chilly but sunny in our part of Somerset. Almost breakfast time.
I rarely post but follow this thread daily.
I love reading all your posts and it's nice to 'know' so many of you all over the country - indeed the world.
I just want to say that I'm thinking of grandMattie as I've been following her story and hope it is all soon resolved.
WWM2 "....oh so much peace to mend the soul that the tress give."
Just so beautifully written. Thank you.
Perfect temperature FGT have a lovely day.
Good morning all. It's grey and - of course! - chilly on the Angus coast today, but the sun is trying to break through the murk. It was a glorious day yesterday though, so shouldn't complain. The weather app says it's 14° here at the moment, which is warmer than it ever reached the other day, but it doesn't feel warm in the house!
I just call my 'fleecy hoody dressing gown thingy' an Oodie blue sapphire, though it isn't really. I have two, one being warmer than the other, and they are the best and warmest things I have ever had. I can see them having much wear this winter!
What a beautiful autumnal word picture you paint Whitewave - thank you. Do you write poetry?
Grandmattie I am so pleased that Iris has set her mind to enjoying school, bless her. And I do hope that the Ombudsman speeds things up for you - but it just shows you are very much not alone in this. How I totally despise those scammers (not that that would upset them one little bit 😬).
RosesandLilac I hope there's an Indian Summer for you to enjoy your long-awaited summer in your lovely cosy "woman cave". Looking forward to a photo.
Still on a hunt for trousers that will fit my puzzlingly shrinking leg length, I took myself off to M&S again yesterday. I have yet to try them on, but I found my size in ones I had admired last week (when there were none in my size) so I shall try them on later with fingers crossed .......
A quiet weekend looks likely - not so for DD and NewMan who are doing the Edinburgh Kilt Walk tomorrow. That will be all four Walks DD will have done for her charity, Widowed and Young. NM is doing his walk for Winston's Wish. DGD3 did the Dundee one in aid of her late Daddy's charity, the Lymphoma Association. To say she enjoyed the experience might be overstating it a bit (!) but she actually raised £1,000! (Did I mention it's been an expensive summer 😉). Anyway, I'm awfully proud of them all.
Have a great weekend everyone with plenty of late summer sunshine.

Good morning everyone from a gloriously sunny Es Caña. We slept great again, it’s the sea air I think from the Mediterranean across the road! Either that, or wine with dinner.
I’m on my second mug of tea (we are an hour ahead here) and then I shall be jumping into my swimsuit and sundress. Breakfast downstairs … yummy.
Hope you enjoyed your anniversary dinner last night GG13, that you are home in Fife safely Bonnybanko and that those feeling under par have a better day today. x
Show off ! 🤣
We’re due for sunshine too but not the temperatures…
Good morning all! It's 7.2 C. here in Appleby.
I'm not bragging or anything but I'm off work today! YESSSS!
So I'll be taking myself for a brekkie at my favourite local cafe and will go somewhere to buy a couple of lovely large throws, can also do with a new sleeveless jacket.
I don't actually NEED a couple of new throws, I just just love draping them around my house!
And big fat squishy cushions!
Then tonight I'll be plonked on the settee with a huge glass of Rum Chata and a Chicken Korma watching Despicable Me 3!
Have a great day everyone!
Greyduster special days can be the toughest ones
Good morning from a dull and chilly Co Armagh, I have the washing on , I hope it gets dried outside
gM I feel so for you , I hope you are reimbursed as soon as possible
Good morning from a bright and sunny Black Country.
Lovely walk yesterday with my friend to the park. Then sat outside eating lunch there. Tasty salad with Quinoa, chick peas, Advocado. Photo is of our view.
Then met DGD2 in a cafe in town, where we had a nice chat, and she handed over my birthday present and card from them all.
gM would it be worth contacting your MP? Maybe they will be able to get things moving?
Liberty I remember DS and DD whilst at Uni, waiting for the weekly phone call, if they could get at the pay phone. They even used to send me letters with their doings!
Wishing you all the best day possible
Morning everyone, the sky is blue, the sun is out and I have absolutely nothing to do today 👍🏻
Our meal last night was very tasty (I had white crab salad, skate wing with nut butter and Parmesan & truffle fries, followed by cheese board). When DH asked for the bill, the waiter informed us that it had already been paid.
Middle son had arranged to pay, he lives close by and is a frequent guest 💙
Bellasnanna I have fond memories of Mdina, we were there several years ago during the medieval celebrations.
Enjoy your day folks 🙋♀️

Good morning everyone. Make the most of the sunshine.
What sunshine? 🌧☁️☔
It is miserable here!
Good morning from another sunny Suffolk day which I hope is less chilly than yesterday. I got my padded jacket out for the morning dog walk.
DGD1 safely delivered to university yesterday and we got a WhatsApp phone call in the evening before she was going to the student pub on campus with others in her 8 bedsitter accommodation.
Her 10 year old brother is already missing her and he wanted a video of her room. In return he sent her one of their house with pictures taken through the windows! She said she got pictures of skies but obviously thanked him for it. He had already spoken to her 2 neighbours when she phoned.
DH and I were reminiscing last night about how different life is for our grandchildren when they leave home. For us and our children ,now in their 40s, they often shared rooms,no en-suites and the only phones were either in the corridors of Halls or in the street. So we were dropped off,we dropped them off and apart from a week,y phone call possibly, they got on with life and we assumed they were ok.
So much change in ways of communicating in just over 20 years.
Off to the local Common for a dog walk later and coffee and cake no doubt. Hope all have a good day and can enjoy some sunshine.
Good morning everyone. Make the most of the sunshine.

Good morning all from a sunny Black country, washing has just finished so will get that outside on the line.
Today I'm meeting DS and the boys after Dgs1 gymnastics lesson for lunch. Later over at friends.
Happy birthday to your dad Pantglas enjoy the celebration.
Enjoy your Saturday everyone whatever your plans, usual full English calling so will catch up later with everybody's happenings ☀️.
Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s dry but looks a bit windy
Happy 90th to your dad Pantglas I hope you all enjoy the birthday celebrations later this evening 🎉🥂🍷
We’re off out for a walk by the river in town this morning and then this afternoon we’ll probably potter in the garden if it’s dry. I’ve also started the swap over to winter clothes, my fleece leggings, hat and gloves were out yesterday!
Hope you’re feeling much better soon baubles and enjoy your few days away
Safe travels home georgesgran and everyone else on the move today
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a dry chilly South Yorkshire. DH would have been 81 today and it’s almost the only occasions these days that I get weepy. He did so love a birthday - anybody’s birthday! DS is coming down later to spend the day with me. I’m cooking a meat and potato pie which they both loved on a match day (though it’s not one today). We’ll probably go out for a walk before he goes home.
Have the best day you can folks.
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is qurrently 13°C.
Birthday greetings to your father, Pants.
Glad to hear Iris is more settled GM.
Baubles, I hope you improve as the day goes on.
Borrheid (if you are reading) I bumped into an old classmate of ours, I haven't seen her in years Her name was Rosemary M. We had a good old chat, your name was mentioned..
I have a busy day ahead, but wish I could stay in bed! I feel really under the weather.
Enjoy your day folks.
Good morning from a dry NE, no sunshine yet.
Sister rang yesterday and chatted from her home in Germany. She lives in a block of flats with no lifts and carrying shopping or luggage upstairs is getting to be a problem. I thought she would have moved before now, she is 84 in a few months.
I have aches and pains everywhere after my fall out of bed so last night I moved my pillows into the centre of the bed in the hope I would stay put. I also put a large folded throw on the floor by the bed.
DS and GD2 will visit today. It was speech day on Thursday, will be interested to learn what award she got this year. She is in the middle school and senior choir and they were singing during the evening.
Have a good weekend.
Morning all from a brightening Co Durham.
My friend and I are taking the bus to Durham City later this morning for a wander and lunch. Although it is quite close to home it’s not a place I go to often, so it will be a nice change. It’s such a beautiful city.
Hope Saturday is good to you all.
Good morning from Malta where it is a much cooler 24°C, bliss!
Went to Mdina yesterday and bumped into some friends of over 40 years. It really made my day.
My friend enjoyed the outing, she’s very easy to please. Later DD1 came over bearing a large metal filing box and proceeded to organize all my paperwork for me. She said it would save her a job later as she thinks her siblings will leave it all to her when I pop off! 😂
Today we are going to join DD3 and the boys at the Bird Park. I haven’t been before and it will be an outing for my pal who is here until Thursday.
Happy 90th to your father Pantglas, hope he enjoys his mini celebration.
GM I do hope it won’t take that long for you to be reimbursed.🙏🏻
Get well soon baubles 💐
Enjoy your outing Gingster, it sounds as though you’ll have a lovely time and sunshine is an added bonus.
Must dash, still in bed and need to get a move on.
Wishing a good day to all.☀️
Gosh, so many people up early this morning!
Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, a fine day ahead, so a load of washing is in the machine.
Had a very busy day yesterday, early breakfast, three dance classes between 10.30 and 1.15, then home where I brought the washing in, and then got ready to hop on the bus for my weekly visit to the shops.
Coffee and cake in the M&S cafe, and did my top-up shop. A mooch around Next and Sainsbury's clothes, where I bought one of those fleecy hoodie dressing gown things, don't know what the proper name is. Should keep me warm of a chilly evening or morning.
A pleasant evening spent watching the best of the Proms on BBC4.
Early lunch today then I am out to our local theatre to see the musical Pretty Woman which I have heard is very good.
Steak and baked potato for dinner tonight.
Have a lovely Saturday everyone.
