Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but its dry outside here in brackley this morning.
Back into my usual routine today after yesterdays coach trip out .
I will bus to Bicester , do a shop and maybe meet others I know.
Yesterdays day trip to the Great Central at Loughborough was OK , but no lift working on station so struggled down the steps to the platform , there were others with disabilities who had problems as well , which caused delay train wise , but a nice afternoon tea spread in the coach ,and staff looked after you .
Take Care,
Mick

I’ve not posted on here for some time but have been keeping up with all the news.
At the moment we are enjoying a Greek island holiday .
We started in Rhodes and are now in a pretty little bay on Symi. We will hop over to Leros on Wednesday and then back to Rhodes on Saturday.
The temperature is around 29 degrees but there is a light breeze and the evenings are beautiful.
Send all best wishes and some photos to warm you up.

Good morning from a grey W Kent.
Very enjoyable afternoon spent with DS and family yesterday with cake for his 48th birthday.
Cleaner this morning and a jab this afternoon, can’t quite believe I get it and DH is too old!?!
Thinking of all those with difficult anniversaries and illness to cope with

Good morning from another dull and damp Black Country.

Rain most of yesterday.

Off to Travelodge by Birmingham Airport later this afternoon, as we can check in our luggage as it's an early morning flight. The hotel is by the car park 7, so we can catch the shuttle bus to hotel, and back to Airport in the morning.
Our senior pass lets us travel for free on the train to the Airport!

Off to Skiathos! Never been there before, so looking forward to it.

Maw flowers

Wishing you all the best day possible

Good morning all and it’s rather o er ast here in Essex. Yesterday was lovely, warm an sunny. We sat in DS1’s garden for an afternoon cuppa and chatted to dgd2 about her new job. DGD was doing her art homework , GCSE’s next year. She popped into the garden for a quick hello and then disappeared again.

It’s dgd4’s 9th birthday today. She’s my tiny ‘ tinkerbell with a lions heart’. The family are away on holiday, so we won’t see her. 🥳.

Today I will shop and try to read the rest of my book club offer. The reviews are good but it’s not holding my attention. 🥱.

GM happy memories 🙏
Hope that cough eases Baubles and Marydoll your mouth feels better,. Poor Babydoll , it must be so painful for her.

Take care all.🌻.(I’ll take more interest and look closely at my sunflowers WWM. Very interesting.

Morning Mick, morning All from a clearing corner of Somerset.

Pleased you could enjoy the train mick but what an annoying shame about the lift. maw flowers. Hope those fillings can be sorted grandmattie and susan.

We’re both weary this morning and are concluding day visits to our friend are sadly coming to an end. It’s a difficult drive once away from motorway challenges and although driving is shared we’re not at our best once we arrive. The rain and drizzle didn’t help. We hope to have a pre Christmas meal together, may involve a night away. I’m more than frustrated at my lack of energy and stamina.

A gentle one today. After a slow start we’ll spend time outside in the forecast sun, must make the most of it while it’s there.

News of our hospitalised friend is worrying, she seems to be eating little and is getting more confused. It’s hard to come to terms with not going to her which is my instinct.

Goodness I do sound gloomy. Some time in the sun will lift my spirits.

Have the best day you can everyone. Hope Monday is kind to us all.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a sunny South Yorkshire. Glad you enjoyed your day out Mick. I spent the day in Durham yesterday, having booked myself onto a coach trip. I spent a long time in my favourite cathedral, had a nice lunch and a walk along the river. The rain held off until it was nearly time to leave which was nice. This evening I’m going for a pub meal with DD and the menfolk. It will mean driving home in the dark but I’ll have to start getting used to that now the nights are drawing in fast.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from a sunny NE.
SIL and I were preparing dinner yesterday evening when a kitchen spotlight went off with a bang, it was the one directly above him. Luckily I had a spare one and he was able to replace it for me.
GD arrived at university and sent photos of her room, it is half the size of hers at home, not sure she will have room for all her equipment.
I have an appointment at the cardiology department this afternoon, SIL is taking me, I am very grateful as I am not sure I could have managed on my own.
Thoughts are with Rosiesmaw 💐

I knew the weather would improve once the children went back to school and we have a perfect autumn morning, chilly but likely to warm up as the day goes on.

The electrician is here to replace the fuse board after the coffee maker fused everything so spectacularly. This is the second major thing this year (new boiler) so I am devoutly hoping there won’t be a third. Good thing I didn’t book a holiday, though am delighted to read about other people’s and hope all our holidaying posters have a wonderful time. And those of us at home should at least be able to enjoy the sunshine this week.

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
I might have a little walk in the sand dunes and see if the sciatica can stand it. It’s taking its time.
Gardener today, held off yesterday as it was raining. Such vivid dreams last night.
Enjoying a book on my kindle ‘Darling of the Gods’ about the Oliviers and their tour to Australia with the Old Vic in 1950.

Very interesting re the sunflower WW, nature is truly amazing. Sorry for your bother with the lift Mick and thoughts to all🌺

Second good morning of the day, now that I am properly awake!
Thank you all for your good wishes and flowersflowers, I know many of you are in the same situation and have to grit your teeth, pin on a smile and, as the proverb goes “Say not in grief he is no more, but live in thankfulness that he was”
Funny incident yesterday though.
The park where we had the picnic is a public one of course but very much part of the community being beside the school and nursery DGDs go to - all the mums and das know each other it seems so it doesn’t feel too open. We had congregated round a large round table in one corner, well away from the entrances with picnic rugs etc and it felt very safe
. But I noticed a slightly strange youngish man in a woolly hat (not a down and out) sort of circling around - think of a wolf circling a flock of sheep - he just got my antennae going so when I saw him reach the table and help himself to some Pringles I went over and asked nicely Was he one of the Dads or somebody’s relative or one of our group. He gave me a funny look so I went on, This is a private party and so on.
He backed off but 10 minutes later he was back. Well, given we had young children playing with footballs, playing rounders and scooting around etc I was a little uneasy so spoke to a couple of the Dads in case he got nasty,
I gave the guy my teacher “death stare” and he backed off again before a few minutes later sneaking up to the table with the food and drink (snacks, birthday cake, cartons for the children, prosecco or cans of beer for the grown ups ) AGAIN so I’m afraid I told him firmly to “P* off”. Ooh language Timothy!
It was hilarious- he still kept walking around, eyeing us (or the food) up and it became like a game.
Anyway no harm done.
TOYA especially those with worries or health issues.

Good morning everyone from Es Caña. Lucky us, warm at 27°C today, but not humid. Eaten a good breakfast and just settling onto loungers by the pool, books at the ready for another day in Paradise!

Not awake- DGSs not DGDs blush

Good morning all from a sunny Angus coast. My favourite month is doing me proud! The leaves on one very large tree in the woods across the field are beginning to change colour.
Rosiesmaw happy memories, tinged with loss I know, but nothing can take them from you flowers
Lovely photos ginny. DS1 is on Crete just now and is finding the heat, at around 35°, a little too much of a good thing! They go to the same place every year and he says he's never known it so hot and humid.
DD and NM enjoyed their 20 mile Kiltwalk yesterday and DD was delighted to achieve her £1000 sponsorship target across all four Walks for her charity. They had a lovely day for it!
Nothing exciting planned for today. I must make a pot of soup and a pot of mince for the freezer. The soup is leek and potato which when liquidised makes lovely cupasoups for lunches.
My hunt for trousers is over! Out of all the myriad combinations of sizes I have at last found 'my' one - a huge sigh of relief. So no more trouser-hunting trips for the foreseeable.
Safe journey and a happy holiday Nannyjan, and a happy reunion with your daughter Mizuna. And everybody, have a lovely day enjoying this Indian Summer, whatever you do.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 16-Sept-24 09:26:54

RosiesMaw 💐
A lovely sentiment.

You’ve just reminded me that it’s the birthday today of my stepfather’s brother. He is 99 years old today. And still self caring! Marvellous indeed. I will ring him this afternoon.

Good morning from an autumnal Co Armagh, the sun is low and the slanted rays shine through the turning leaves, so the glorious colours are getting a real show
The sun shows up all the shadows and corners, my Daughtber made a bit of cleanup yesterday and emptied the dead pots , more room now
We got to sit out for a while and hope to sit out again after a bit of shopping this morning
The birds yesterday decorated some of my washing ! I’ll hang it out again now and hope for the best , from the stains I guess they have been hoovering up the blackberries!
I didn’t get candles lit yesterday, no money for the offering box , I’ll get change today , and remember my friends here
