Second good morning of the day, now that I am properly awake!
Thank you all for your good wishes and
, I know many of you are in the same situation and have to grit your teeth, pin on a smile and, as the proverb goes “Say not in grief he is no more, but live in thankfulness that he was”
Funny incident yesterday though.
The park where we had the picnic is a public one of course but very much part of the community being beside the school and nursery DGDs go to - all the mums and das know each other it seems so it doesn’t feel too open. We had congregated round a large round table in one corner, well away from the entrances with picnic rugs etc and it felt very safe
. But I noticed a slightly strange youngish man in a woolly hat (not a down and out) sort of circling around - think of a wolf circling a flock of sheep - he just got my antennae going so when I saw him reach the table and help himself to some Pringles I went over and asked nicely Was he one of the Dads or somebody’s relative or one of our group. He gave me a funny look so I went on, This is a private party and so on.
He backed off but 10 minutes later he was back. Well, given we had young children playing with footballs, playing rounders and scooting around etc I was a little uneasy so spoke to a couple of the Dads in case he got nasty,
I gave the guy my teacher “death stare” and he backed off again before a few minutes later sneaking up to the table with the food and drink (snacks, birthday cake, cartons for the children, prosecco or cans of beer for the grown ups ) AGAIN so I’m afraid I told him firmly to “P* off”. Ooh language Timothy!
It was hilarious- he still kept walking around, eyeing us (or the food) up and it became like a game.
Anyway no harm done.
TOYA especially those with worries or health issues.
