Morning everyone it’s milder here today meant to reach mid 20’s

We have carpenters and electricians here today. The Imp has his last week before big school, today will be spent keeping him away from them 🤣🤣🤣

Rosiesmaw2 💐

Have a great day folks 🙋‍♀️

Good morning all from a bright North Leicestershire.

Our singing yesterday was carried out in pouring rain and was enjoyed by approximately 6 people. Hey ho, we had a good time anyway.

Today I have ironing and baking in prospect.

I'm sorry that your trip to our local heritage railway was spoiled, Mick but glad you enjoyed it once you got on the train and that the volunteers looked after you well.

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 6°C. We have the most amazing sky.

Maw 💐

Your day sounds enjoyable, Mick. Our Victorian station now has a lift installed and a sloping path on the other platform. What a difference it has made. Unfortunately, sometimes there is no space to install a lift. Broken down lifts are no-one's fault, but they can make life difficult for those of us who struggle.

Today, I have to stay in and wait for a GP telephone consultation about my deteriorating COPD, I have no expectations at all. ☹
I will use the time to continue my Swedish Death Clean, while DH is out golfing. The porch, coat cupboard is my goal. 😉

Poor BabyD does indeed have Hand, Foot and Mouth and she is miserable and cross with it. I too have a very sore mouth! The dangers of having grandchildren! With Dollie, it was croup!
The other GPs are back from their cruise down the East Coast of the USA, so we have a child free week!

I wish you all the best of days today.

Good morning everyone from a brightish Northampton, however a fine and sunny day is forecast.

Yoga first thing, and I have to catch the bus again, so I have very little time to get ready and be out. Hopefully go for coffee in the new cafe afterwards with other friends from our yoga group. May do a load of washing when I get back.

Will probably cut the front grass this afternoon if it stays dry.

Thinking of you Maw flowers

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from Durham. Not sure of the temperature, but it’s very still.
Having arrived home from Cyprus in the early hours of Sunday, I fell asleep on the sofa last night and woke before dawn.
Meeting a friend for coffee this morning, then as it’s DGS1’s birthday today - we’re going to a local Italian restaurant chain for tea. He’s 7 - where have those years gone. He was only 3 and a half when DH died and I don’t think he really remembers him.
Still stuff to unpack and launder, but there’s no hurry.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from Northumberland. It’s to be dry and sunny today.

I think I kept DH awake for hours last night with my cough. I annoyed myself never mind him, poor soul.

We had a pleasant afternoon yesterday wandering around Bamburgh. After lunch we sat for a while in the sun watching a cricket match taking place on the pitch beneath castle, very pleasant.

Our hotel has very pretty gardens, we may have a walk before breakfast after which Alnwick Castle is on today’s agenda.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from Shropshire.A warm day forecast with a high of 18 so it will be a day of gardening and laundry.

I lost a filling at the weekend too grandMattie😭

Wishing everyone the best day possible🦩

Good morning from Malta where it is set to be a much more bearable 27°C. I haven’t needed the fan on for the last few nights.

I’m starting to fight that weepy feeling as DD1 and Bertie the dog go back to the US tomorrow. It never gets easier saying goodbye.😞

Glad you enjoyed your outing Mick but very sorry you had to struggle due to lack of a lift.

Maw it’s always a stab in the heart when birthdays and anniversaries come around. Thinking of you today. 💐

No plans yet, will see what my friend wants to do as she only has three more days here,

Hope you all have a good day.☀️

Good morning from a brightening Cornwall, sunny again today. Yesterday was lovely. My grandson's football match was brilliant, ending in a well-fought draw score; he was in goal and at one point sat on the ball to stop it going in. 😁 He proudly sported a bloody graze on his shin afterwards. 😂

Lots of our family turned out and afterwards my youngest son and I caught a bus towards home; precious time chatting to him. Later I ended up in M&S where I hit the yellow-sticker jackpot, including a pork fillet for £2. My final bus was completely packed due to cancelled trains and I spent the journey squeezed next to a holidaymaker who told me about her son who has done a degree in cyber security. Very interesting.

Then I bumped into my near neighbour, a single dad, and his seven-year-old daughter who incidentally goes to school across the river by boat every day. He's never stopped and chatted before. Maybe it's because I'm looking up not down now the crutches are gone. 💃

My daughter arrives from Liverpool tonight, the icing on the cake. I'm beyond excited. I'll take the train to meet her and my ex will bring us both home in his car.

Good morning from a dry fine Torbay with no rain expected this week - good news for holidaymakers taking late breaks.

Much needs to be done to bring several railway stations up-to-date with access for less able folk but overall you seem to have enjoyed the outing, Mick.
A poignant time for you RosiesMaw2. The picnic sounds like a lovely idea for the little ones as a way of celebrating a birthday.
I hope your broken filling doesn’t give you too much discomfort in your mouth or in your pocket, grandMattie.

My friend and neighbour from upstairs accompanied me to church as she is recovering from surgery and not yet able to drive to her own church. Afterwards we enjoyed a walk in the park and sat on a bench in the warm sunshine.

We had quite an enjoyable lunch yesterday at the village pub. The carvery was chosen by the other four but I opted for the fish (megrim) which arrived unfilleted. That combined with the dim light made the eating process even slower than normal. (I think the fish was aptly named …..!)

Wishing you all a good week.🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning early birds from a dark but dry north 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 where we are promised some of the glorious stuff 🌞 after yesterday’s downpour 🤗

Hope your late husband’s birthday brings lots of good memories to the fore RosiesMaw and a fond chuckle or two 😉

A domestic goddessing day at PG Towers where I have Spanish mangoes 🥭 awaiting their reincarnation as chutney and 🍋🍋🍋🍋 will transform into pots of curd and then, as if by magic, 🪄 most will disappear (to Mr PGs eternal disbelief…) as I give em away🤦‍♀️

May you all have as much fun as me…😂

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 16-Sept-24 06:28:09

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I peeked out of the window and the sky is red!

Waitrose shop this morning. Our cleaner is due today and our gardener after lunch. OH cut the lawns yesterday and minutes later we had torrential rain. Lucky,

I need to make sure I have the ingredients for the C cake! I’ve usually made it by now.

Have a good day everyone, especially those of you with difficulties.

karmalady Mon 16-Sept-24 06:20:29

Good morning from s somerset, nice sunny day (and week) ahead

Crafting group today, I needed to start something new and spent a few hours propping for that yesterday. I did go cycling first but am so watchful with eyes down on the main road, the surface is breaking up. Cars just have to slow down as I circumnavigate the newly formed potholes. Nice to have the highway code on my side

Have a good day

grandMattie Mon 16-Sept-24 06:04:39

Good morning from a chilly, dark Bristol.
🫂💐 RosiesMaw, I know how you feel. Hard, isn’t it?
I just went to church yesterday and pootled all day.
Today, I’ve got a large Tesco list, then WI in the afternoon. As I shall have bought the ingredients for mincemeat, I’ll try an fit that in too. Otherwise, tomorrow.
I’ve lost half a (very, very expensive) filling at the weekend and need to call the dentist.
Hope this week is kind to you. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning Mick and others from Polmont where it's currently 5° and seems dry. What a pity about the lack of lift. I can imagine how difficult it made things.
Yesterday dgs1 and I had an enjoyable time spending my money at the garden centre. After breakfast there, I bought winter flowering plants and assorted bulbs, all chosen by dgs1. He also chose a book, jigsaw and other stuff too! We bumped into his Depute Head and he was pleased to see her. His mum picked him up at lunchtime and I had a nap. I'm afraid my mum didn't get a visit but I'll see her later this week. She really doesn't remember who I am much of the time.
Today is early childcare day. School drop off, a quick visit to Tesco for dgs2s comic and then playgroup. Soup for lunch, a nap for both of us, then school pick up. Then a quick change for dgs1 into football gear and his dad will pick him up for that. Phew! Chilli for dinner later. Have a good day all.

Good morning Mick and all to come from N Bucks where it is still pitch dark and I have no idea why I am wide awake except that today would have been DH ‘s 77th birthday and he has been especially in my thoughts as we have celebrated GD and littlest fella’s birthdays last Sunday and yesterday.
A lovely trip to London for littlest’s third birthday enjoying a picnic in the park with large numbers of little friends. The weather stayed nice- sunny but not too warm and they all had a lovely time. His other GPs and I drove down together meeting up with my sisters in law and niece from Brazil at the William Morris Gallery for a quick lunch first.
I’m sorry your day out was let down by the absence of lifts Mick but apart from that it sounds like an enjoyable day out and a nice change.
Wishing everybody a pleasant day.

RosesandLilac Mon 16-Sept-24 05:53:52

Good morning, it’s a cool and dry start here in south Glos, hoping for sunshine today.
That’s a shame that no consideration was made for those least able on your trip * Mick*. I’m glad you enjoyed it regardless.
I gave the living room a thoroughly good tidy and clean yesterday, adding to the bags for the charity shop m which are now in my car boot.
DH took the dog on a four hour walk so they didn’t get back until early afternoon then both promptly fell asleep for several hours.
Usual chores this morning, change the bed etc then some garden tidying- I’m trying to keep on top of it this autumn.
Have a good day 🌹

Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but its dry outside here in brackley this morning.
Back into my usual routine today after yesterdays coach trip out .
I will bus to Bicester , do a shop and maybe meet others I know.
Yesterdays day trip to the Great Central at Loughborough was OK , but no lift working on station so struggled down the steps to the platform , there were others with disabilities who had problems as well , which caused delay train wise , but a nice afternoon tea spread in the coach ,and staff looked after you .
Take Care,
Mick
