Oh I became 'Victoria' Meldrew a long time ago.

I agree with all the arm waving. Gets on my nerves, just stand still, for goodness sake, how hard can it be.

Rant over, as you were smile

Really annoying, those flailing arms.
Our local TV news readers all pronounce The as The in places where traditionally it would be Thee, before a vowel, eg before ‘East Midlands.’ Has fashion changed?
Similarly ‘a’ is always pronounced A , so they end with ‘Have A lovely day’ , where A and Day rhyme.

I wake at 5am most days and usually listen to the World Service and Radio 4 before I get up. I find it makes such a difference to the interest of the topic according to the voice of the broadcaster. There's a young lady who reads the business news who has a voice and accent that I find really grating - I'm sure she's very intelligent and good at the job but don't they audition for the voice too?
And while I'm at it ... why does nearly everyone I watch on TV wave their arms about all the time they are talking? I find that most distracting too. I think I'm turning into a female version of Victor Meldrew wink
