Small girls semi nked on the beach

My children were often naked (or just in knickers) in the garden in the summer. We did have a walled garden but it never occurred to me not to allow this. The paddling pool was usually out if it was warm enough.
It was strictly in the garden or (if they wete small) on a beach though.

I have no memory of this from my childhood (except in the garden or beach).

By 8 it would have been in a swimsuit/trunks by the way.

I have an old black and white photograph of my sister and I on Blackpool beach, naked as jay birds (aged 6 and 3) but wearing sun hats whilst making sand castles. Happy days.

I don't remember young children playing out in swimwear (except in their own gardens), but certainly remember very young children on the beach wearing nothing or just a pair of knickers. I suppose with more awareness of how vile some people are, and the ability to take photos on phones etc, most parents are careful that their child will not end up being the fantasy object of some pervert.

I dont think most parents thought about perverts back then. And cameras were big and bulky so not so easy to take a covert photo of someone. For years we had a big green "box" camera that measured about 6 inches. You had to hold it pretty steady to avoid blurring. Not like todays modern "point and click" cameras or phones with their autofocus.

Even "pocket" cameras were pretty bulky.

Yes thats true but at that age all I had were two pimples so nothing much to be revealed.

I have a picture of myself aged about 6 in the 1950's. I was wearing one of those ruched swimsuits but the little girl, aged about 2 or 3 whose hand I was holding was naked. I remember feeling very angry with my dad at the time for taking the photo of her. Funnily enough I was just saying to my husband the other day that I don't know why I've kept it all these years.... and maybe I should destroy it.

Like NotSpaghettii, our two sons were often playing in our 5 ft tall walled back garden in their trunks or naked in the summer, when their friends joined them they were always in bathing suits.

I have photos of my sister and I in our bathing costumes when we were youngesters, mine had been knitted by my grandma and every time I went in the sea, it dropped down to my waist.

I was never allowed to wear just knickers or go naked.
Even my dolls had to be properly dressed.

I was allowed to but very few days went by in my childhood when I didnt climb a tree, so I preferred shorts & T shirts.(Climbing trees naked is scratchy unless you're Mowgli) My mum used to make sure the children in the fruit patch weren't naked, we were all grubby but just about decent.It would be all long sleeved tops because of UV damage nowadays (if children were allowed with fruit pickers any more, which they're not)

I remember being delighted to be allowed to wear my swimsuit to play outside in warm weather, even when we were nowhere near water! There was also never any sunscreen applied either, just calamine lotion on the inevitable sunburn. From about 8 years old we went to the river to play. Granted, it wasn’t very deep, but I never allowed ours to play there unsupervised.
Changed days.

I remember running into the sea in just a pair of knickers. Later I also had a knitted swimsuit. Coming out of the sea the top part had descended to around my waist and my budding boobs were exposed. I still remember how embarrassed I was 😳

They used to play naked in the paddling pool. One day my daughter went upstairs when I was sunbathing and I found her and a little boy having a bath.

There was a Nell Barden swimsuit factory not far from home and we always had a new swimsuit each year from there from about 7 years old upwards. I think mum knew someone who worked there. Before 7 it was the ŕuched swimsuit which filled with sand in the little pockets.

A few years back children from the local school (young teens) used to gather in groups between the houses. Their parents were Moslem so they did not want boys and girls mixing without supervision. They were just chatting but they left a lot of litter.

My NDN asked me to provide her with pictures from the cctv as she wanted to complain to the local school about the mess they were leaving. Obviously I refused as we dont go about distributing pictures of children in this country.

She went mad and said they are walking past your cameras anyway. I said yes, but the images autodelete after 30 days and Im not going to download and distribute them so you can whinge to the school. I dont want angry parents knocking on my door. There is a warning notice so the children know there is a camera and they choose to walk past it to gather there.

She could not see the difference bwtween children who "happen to" walk past the camera and deliberately downloading and distributing the images to a third party.

Both myself and our children (though not at the same time haha) were naked in paddling pools and in the garden. Our younger two children had an aversion to clothes and as toddlers and young infant schoolers would strip off as soon as we got in our house!

One of my daughters friends came to play and I guess she and my daughter would have been 7 or 8, the younger two siblings about 5 & 3, and were running round naked!

My daughter’s friend talk her mum she saw James’ (3 year old) “privates” and her mother called me utterly outraged!! Even though said friend had a brother exactly the same age!

We’ve always been fairly relaxed about nudity, and used “real” names for body parts!

Btw I think it’s so sad that so many of us think about perverts etc.

Naked children are not sexual in any shape of form, nothing I loved more than getting them out of the bath and wrapping them in a big towel or robe and a big cuddle.

Our mixed sex children bathed and slept together.

I do remember it, but I don't think I was ever allowed to do it myself. However, when my daughter was about 3, we took her on holiday to Majorca - it would be around Easter time, so it was warm, but not particularly hot. The first day we took her to the beach, and she promptly stripped off and ran naked into the sea before we could do anything. This prompted some strange looks from other tourists, quite a few of whom were wearing coats!

PE lessons in schools, Infant and sometimes Junior, were taken by children wearing knickers, and in winter, a vest.

All mine were naked in the garden and paddling pool but swimsuits on the beach. I have two GDs same age of 7 one is on the beach all the time (she lives abroad) in just a pair of pants the other one wears cycling shorts all the time under her clothes and very covering swimsuits. Two mums with totally different views we are all different I guess.

I ran a small nursery back in the 1980’s and on hot days there was a paddling pool, bowls of water with toys etc and several of the children chose to strip off to go in the water or run around splashing each other naked. They were dried off and clothed before going home. All the parents were fully aware and thought it normal and great fun. Sadly couldn’t happen today.
