Happy birthday batty.
FGT2, not much hope of sun here on Sunday! 😢
I have been meaning to mention the glorious carnation/clove scent of the Eleagnus species hedge blossom on my way to and from the village.

Good morning from a still cloudy Suffolk but we should see the sun soon. Happy birthday Grandmabatty. Hope you have a relaxing day with a delicious lunch.

I have my stretch class shortly and then meeting a dear friend at the seaside higher up the coast. We have a routine when we choose this as our venue……walk a short way up the prom, have coffee at a small cafe there overlooking the sea, walk for about half an hour and have lunch in another beach cafe in the garden where the service is very thoughtful. The cafe attracts a few very elderly people who have mobility difficulties and it is heartening to see the kindness of the staff towards them.

Luckily my friend and I are not in that category( yet I hear her say!).

Hope the sun shines on all today especially those who are unwell or worried.

Morning everyone, I seem to be stuck in a period of little sleep. I will resort to Boots Sleepeze on Saturday if no important.

Off to the opticians to get my glasses repaired first thing, then the local
Farm Shop.

DH managed to break the en-suite loo whilst in the process of repairing a dripping cistern!!! He can wait in for a call and hope visit from the plumber. (Who was here yesterday sorting out radiator in dining room, why he didn’t ask him to look at the loo I have no idea 🤷‍♀️)

9yr old is here for his weekly sleepover tonight.

Happy Birthday Grandmabatty 🎂🥂🍾

Enjoy your last day in Ibiza FGT2

🙋‍♀️

Good morning from sunny Lancashire. It’s chilly of a morning now, isn’t it?

Yesterday MrB took me to the Marina shop so I could purchase a birthday card and a small present for my sister, who will be 76 next week. It felt lovely to be out, but I was exhausted when we got home and slept for hours.

Today will be another day of listening to my audiobook and watching the world go by.

Have a lovely Thursday, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing 🌻

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Thu 19-Sept-24 07:29:46

Many happy returns of the day Grandmabatty ! Plus money dropping into your bank account every four weeks - welcome to the club! 🥳

Good morning everyone from Es Caña. We have a glorious start to the day on this our last day here. Perfect. I need to start a new book on my Kindle. My stepfather told me yesterday they were enjoying sunshine in south Manchester and he had just pegged a line of washing out. Be nice if it holds for the weekend and I can dry my holiday laundry!

kittylester Thu 19-Sept-24 07:12:12

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

We are up early as we are having our RSV jabs this morning with a talk first! Never heard of that before so very interested to attend.

This afternoon I am supporting a Carer Learning course having supported on an online one last night too.

Happy Birthday Grandmabatty 💐🎂🎁

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 19-Sept-24 07:04:43

Good morning from a cloudy start, maybe the sun will appear later.

We are going down to see MrOops sister and her husband today, his cancer treatment was stopped 6 weeks ago and he isn’t doing very well, but 16 months ago he was given 6 months to live so he has done well. Sadly he is going downhill quite quickly.

MzOops is in Paris, where she noticed a promising skip, she now has to carry some old school maps, handily there was also a cardboard tube to put them in!

Hope everyone has a good day and that the sun shines on us all

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Happy birthday GBatty🎂

My car isn’t back yet so I’ll ring the garage this morning.

The U3A lunch yesterday was fun and the food was good and plentiful. I just about managed a tiny piece of quiche for my dinner.

I hope to drop off two dresses at the seamstress today. They need shortening by about 3 inches. I can sew and indeed made all the curtains for my house - until I decided they needed replacing years later and handed over the job to a professional curtain maker!

Have a good day.

Good morning from s somerset, sunny and dry today

Yes Georgesgran, you need to take something, to break the pain cycle. I hope your poorly head gets better quickly

Washing is on, I stripped the bed and will have a full whirly line, am trying to take advantage of the presently good weather with three planned washes. Garden is up to date, getting winter-ready because before we know it, washing pots and so on becomes a chilly chore

I washed my car, got the karcher and hose out but it is a very satisfying job and the foam does the work. I spent a steady day yesterday, got lots done but no heavy lifting and finished knitting a sock and cleaned up 50 strawberry plants in troughs, on stands. Fewer strawberries at the moment but raspberries are being very productive

Today, well it will be what it will be, I have programmed second-sock knitting into my day

Have a good day

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and cloudy. I've had another interrupted night so I might have a treat and stay in bed for a while. Today is my birthday and state pension day! I'm meeting a friend for lunch so that will be nice. Otherwise a quiet day. I won't see dd and the boys until tomorrow when I'm going to her house for dinner. Enjoy your day.

Georgesgran Thu 19-Sept-24 06:33:14

Good morning from Durham - it’s still dark here. A very poor night, as I went to bed with a headache and still have it. I might have to resort to take something.
Today SinL is going away for a long weekend, so, while DD2’s at work I’m going to collect Little Dog and do a few jobs in her garden - nothing strenuous - while DGS2 is at nursery.
My own gardener is coming later. I want to discuss some future work with him, but might miss him today.
My friend who came yesterday had sad news about his 77yr old wife. Her current treatment isn’t working and has been withdrawn and she has been told to get her affairs in order.
Just a matter of time now. She is well supported by him, her DDs and adult DGC.

Best wishes to all. X

Bellasnana Thu 19-Sept-24 06:12:35

Good morning from Malta where there is definitely a change in the weather. Dull, showery and 29°C.

My lovely friend leaves today so I’m about to take her to the airport. It’s rush hour traffic I’m not looking forward to as I rarely venture out very far.

The boys came over to say goodbye yesterday, both seem to have come in a lot and nursery is obviously good for them. Their Mum starts back at school today after the long summer break.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Greyduster Thu 19-Sept-24 06:03:49

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Still dark in South Yorkshire but we are expecting a dry, if not sunny, day. I seem to have been awake a long time😩! Walking group this morning and then lunch with DD.
Have the best day you can folks.

RosesandLilac Thu 19-Sept-24 06:01:11

Good morning, dry and cloudy here in south Glos, it’s supposed to be warm today.
Yesterday I pottered around doing various jobs and enjoying the peace and quiet but it wasn’t as warm as I expected.
I had a letter with the results of my night O2 monitor recording, it wasn’t good news. I have been telling my GP for months that I thought my oxygen levels were a problem (not only at night) but he has been dismissive. The monitor shows I don’t have sleep apnoea but my oxygen levels drop to 92% when I’m asleep due to my heart failure getting worse 🤷🏼‍♀️
I now need further tests. I certainly get breathless some days when walking the dog, doing housework etc. Perhaps my GP will listen now?
My cardiologist won’t ‘see’ me for another 18 months (phone review only).
Anyway, off to art group this afternoon, I look forward to that and next week I have two days away on an art break in Somerset, something to look forward to!
I hope you all have a good day 🌹

grandMattie Thu 19-Sept-24 05:59:11

Good morning from Bristol. It’s still dark, and we’re three days away from the equinox.
I spent a happy morning making a pretty tote for the raffle of the Dementia tea in church on Tuesday.
This morning, I’m off early for an eye test. It annoys me that once your appointment is made, you are requested to come ten minutes early. Why don’t they just give you a time, then you don’t have to reschedule the buses and, in my case, have to pay for it! I telephoned to say I wouldn’t make it for the earlier time and was told very primly by a 10 year old that “they were strict about lateness”. 😡 grrr
I’m seeing DD and family this evening.
