This morning I need to make soup, make bread, clean the downstairs of the house, then walk the dog we are temporarily looking after.

This afternoon I need to be suited and booted for a work meeting, home to change, finish off bread and probably cleaning then another dog walk and supper prep.

So why am I sitting her wasting time on SM and drinking tea?

Trying to sort things out ready for moving

I went for few days holiday last week and had a marvellous time with my SiL, my ex's sister as a throwaway. We get on very well, she enjoyed herself doing touristy things with me that she doesn't usually do. The weather was amazing. Now I'm home my case is unpacked, of course, and the washing's mainly done. I really should start on half a dozen things but it's damp out and I'm putting it off. My name is also, again, Mrs Procrastination 😂.

We procrastinated, until today, now yard toys away until next summer.

Thought I was doing quite well until I realised the kitchen clock had stopped and it is 11am not 9am 🙄

Dusting the downstairs rooms (where does it come from?)

You've done more than me Witzend but I do keep planning what I might do in a minute.

Please don’t waft it in my direction 😂

Getting off GN/MN/email, and going upstairs to shower and get dressed!

Mind you I’ve done one useful thing - dug out my recipe for Delia’s mincemeat, and made a list of what I need to buy - plus checked the jar store - plenty there.

I did a renewal for someone last year. It was very simple - and quick. The original one was long though.

I think different areas do things differently.

Marydoll Sat 21-Sept-24 08:20:00

It must be different in England, bikergran.
After years of having to provide evidence, my renewal took minutes. I was taken straight to the payment page and received the new one in less than the stated four weeks.

Good luck!

Filling my dad's Blue Badge form in.

Even though he has had one for many years with Parkinson, angina, c.o.p.d , enlarged heart ,a list as long as your arm

You still have to treat it as a "New Claim"

Decluttering, am moving house in a few weeks and have so much to do, sorting stuff, going to the tip, going to take stuff to the charity shops but I ll do it tomorrow 🤷‍♀️

Norah Fri 20-Sept-24 22:03:23

I sorted the children's tea - made bread, sliced thick, toasted. Made thin walnut basil pesto. Cannellini on toast, pesto over. Delicious.

It was dinner as well - roasted cauliflower, cannellini (added late in roasting) - served with pesto over, and toast, salad, fruit. Gorgeous.

Never do today that which can be done tomorrow is my motto.

My last reply was not meant to be on this thread and I have absolutely NO idea how it got here! Apologies and please ignore!

Thing is, the beds look so inviting it was very tempting not to jump in, however, I resisted.

😄😄 I always feel like that after making the bed.

Still not started packing. MrA is already packed!!

You’ll have to get on with it, he might go without you 😂

It happened to my husband when he turned 80:too, and it wasn’t by a small amount. They didn’t care that he hadn’t had a claim since the 1960s. They just lumped it up anyway. I hate insurance companies with a passion! They wouldn’t give you a spot if they had the measles!

I have Safeguarding paperwork to do, preparing applications for Disclosures for people approaching eighteen.. I keep putting it off, because until they reach eighteen I cannot send them anyway.
That is my excuse, but I will do it today!

Because you’re just like the rest of us! I haven’t got your workload but there are things I should be doing other than wasting time on here!
Guilty pleasure!

I had just finished them, (guilt won), when I received a new application! Grrr.

I stripped my bed and put the washing on before I left for work this morning. Dashed in just before 6pm, got changed out of work clothes, unloaded washing machine and was all set to hang the laundry out ( dry night predicted and sunny day tomorrow). Then my son arrived and by the time he left I was ravenous and now it is pitch dark outside. So I have put off hanging out the washing till tomorrow morning which means I will have to get up earlier as I am working again. I am a
also putting off getting fresh bed linen from the utility room and making up the bed - why did do it this morning before I left for work? I know I will end up doing it at bedtime when I really just want to go to sleep!

It is all in the mind!
Today I achieved all I set out and needed to do, no more, no less.
The fact that there are many things which need doing is irrelevant for today.

AreWeThereYet Fri 20-Sept-24 18:52:47

While procrastinating over the packing I've started the chair covers I've been procrastinating over for the last two months... in the full knowledge that I won't have time to do any more tomorrow so they'll be back in the procrastinating pile when I get back from Scotland in a few weeks. At the rate I'm going I might have a chair finished by next Summer, so about 5 years before I finish all 6.

AGA: A First or a 2:2?!!!

I bought an air fryer four months ago. Read the instructions. Every morning when I eventually wake up, tell myself that "I shall try it out today". Guess what ....................?
