This morning I need to make soup, make bread, clean the downstairs of the house, then walk the dog we are temporarily looking after.

This afternoon I need to be suited and booted for a work meeting, home to change, finish off bread and probably cleaning then another dog walk and supper prep.

So why am I sitting her wasting time on SM and drinking tea?

I have Safeguarding paperwork to do, preparing applications for Disclosures for people approaching eighteen.. I keep putting it off, because until they reach eighteen I cannot send them anyway.
That is my excuse, but I will do it today!

Ironing the floor to ceiling dining room curtains.

Getting up. I'm still exhausted after my short holiday in Rome as my flight was delayed so we got home in the early hours of the morning.

NotSpaghetti Thu 19-Sept-24 09:12:27

Accounts. 😕
Want to get tax forms off today.

NotSpaghetti Thu 19-Sept-24 09:13:21

How lovely though foxie - I love Italy and Rome is perfect in September!

Washing to be done, hoovering and numerous other jobs but I'm sitting here and as the sun is out I will go for a walk..I have a degree in procrastination.

I’m supposed to be loading my car with all sorts of gardening stuff and a step stool to do a few jobs at DD2’s and bringing her dog back here with me.
I’m glazed over - staring into space - must shake a leg!

MissAdventure Thu 19-Sept-24 09:42:07

Getting up.
I'm not enjoying not getting up, though - I'm all on edge about all the things I'm supposed to be doing.
I have a hospital appt very soon, so soon it may even be today, but I keep putting off looking at the paperwork and sorting out transport.

If its today, it's all too late.
I wont be able to get there, and it'll be too late to cancel, and I'll be in a sorry state.

I could do with a personal assistant, I think.
Or a nanny!

Every day is like this, really.
My legs are so swollen and sore, and itchy, too, but my painkillers are in the living room, so I need to start the ball rolling.

I am going to do it, though, any minute now...

Lots of things, I think I must be the world's biggest procrastinator!! In my world anyway ☺.

BigBertha1 Thu 19-Sept-24 10:11:35

All the cleaning done, waiting for Ocado to arrive and I could be doing something like sorting out summer/winter clothes and culling the airing cupboard but I'm not. I'm juts sitting here typing.

It sounds as though you really need this hospital appointment.
Can you afford a taxi?

Sago Thu 19-Sept-24 10:50:26

Dog walked, soup done, starter fed and starting to bubble, butter made and about to smarten my self up!

It’s amazing what you can do when you close your iPad!

MissAdventure Thu 19-Sept-24 10:52:11

Phew!!
It's not for a couple of weeks yet, thankfully.

That will give me time to sort out transport: I use a community voluntary service which is cheaper than a taxi, but needs to be booked well in advance.

Talk about self sabotage; i'm becoming an expert at that.
A taxi is £50 + there and back, so I need to phone the car scheme today, as that's £25 round trip.

I'm not expecting much from the appointment really.
"Keep taking the pills" type advice, is all.

I have been procrastinating after clicking on the You Tube links on the LP thread I started.

However, I have done the Safeguarding Admin. and filled my weekly medication box, a marathon in itself!

GrannySomerset Thu 19-Sept-24 13:13:38

My dear DH was always a last minuter and his motto was definitely Procrastinate Now. It was never mine until recently when I can put things off indefinitely.

Skydancer Thu 19-Sept-24 13:14:40

I’ve got to go to the supermarket but I don’t want to. It’s too cold in there and I have to keep getting my glasses to read labels. It’s so boring so instead I’m having a cup of tea and reading Private Eye.

crazyH Thu 19-Sept-24 13:19:19

MissA - thinking of you

MissAdventure Thu 19-Sept-24 13:21:44

Thanks, crazyH

I've procrastinated so long, I need more painkillers now. blush

I blame Marydoll.

HowVeryDareYou2 Thu 19-Sept-24 13:23:07

Ironing - I hate it and only do it when absolutely essential.

Everything else - washing, necessary cleaning and online grocery shopping have all been done. I've sat and read a book all the way through.
