Twin wash basins (or sinks)

I would hate to have someone next to me cleaning their teeth or whatever else they do in the bathroom. I am so glad to have 2 bathrooms and another downstairs loo especially now as DH prepares to take the jollop they give you before his colonscopy tomorrow!!!

Another thing I hate is the bath being in the bedroom, I think this is more a British/ European trend , I always think it will leave the room feeling damp, why it considered romantic? I always think twin sinks twice as much to keep clean😂

Regarding twin sinks, I have been married for over 30yrs & I would never, ever ( Para- phrasing Taylor Swift) wash my bits or whatever (Sorry again Taylor!!!) In front of my husband. I am completely confounded by these American imports, an abomination.

We clean teeth etc in the en-suite at the same time before bed, usually naked because that’s how we sleep. A double sink is just more to clean, very common when we lived in Françe.

There were already twin basins* in the ensuite when we bought our house ages ago. We kept two when we updated it. We don’t often use both, but it’s handy now and then to have them.

*to me, sinks belong in the kitchen! Or the utility, not that we have one of those. Dh often refers to the washbasins as ‘sinks’ - it’s a minor irritation to me, but not as bad as his explosive sneezes - like a bomb going off!

Not for me. All the more for us clean.

We rented a flat which had two washbasins when living abroad. It did come in handy when I needed to wash my hair. If there was no power, I had to wash my hair over a basin and sometimes the water would also run out. I used to fill the second basin with clean water so I could rinse off my hair if the taps ran dry mid-shampoo. That’s a very niche requirement, though!

In the same bathroom, the bath was one of those spa baths with lights and bubbles. I adventurously decided to try it one day and it seemed ok. However, when I got out of the bath I found that the pipe work hadn’t been connected to anything and the bathroom floor was awash with soapy bubbles! 😂😂

I agree about the word sinks. Kitchen or utility only.
I don’t want two wash basins in a bathroom.
Nor do I want a public loo called a bathroom, because it isn’t.
And nobody has a rest in one either, so not a restroom( US).

Agree 62Granny I do like to ablute in private. Also dislike twin basins, makes extra cleaning.

Friends bought a house which had twin basins in the ensuite.
It's a normal, detached 4 bedroomed house, the previous owners obviously thought it was a desirable feature.

Gosh, slapped wrist for saying sink, I didn’t realise it was such a thing to say basin, having researched, I will use washbasin henceforth 🙂

I do not see the point of two basins in a bathroom. In 54 years of marriage I never used the bathroom at the same time as DH.
DD has a guest bathroom that has a spa bath separate shower and twin basins, it is a large room but still we did not share it. Another feature of this bathroom which worried me was the power points above the basins 😬

All french bathrooms have a power point harrigran took me a while to get used to it. Very handy though.

I like two washbasins ina beautiful bathroom.

I do NOT like a WC in the place I clean my teeth 😱 ...so unless it's a particularly huge bathroom I would find this off-putting.

My DH is particularly messy everywhere, but particularly in the bathroom.

We have a tiny en-suite in our home, but in our holiday lodge we have two large double bedrooms, one at each end, both with en-suites, both with two basins each!

He has to use his own, on his own and I always have a lovely pristine sink in which to complete my ablutions!

I would quite like two sinks and a bidet!

Of I had a choice would always choose a bidet, sadly I dont have one.
