Have been watching Vienna Blood, and am now lusting after the utterly delicious Max, played by Matthew Beard, new actor to me, oh my goodness not only is he beautiful, but his voice….
My daughter said, know your age mum, it should be the other lead, Oskar you should be swooning over, haha age is only a number!

Yes Nora, Colin Firth, I loved him in Brigitte Jones too. 😊

Tenko

Viggo Mortenson as Aragon in lord of the Rings , long term crush

I'd agree with you there - as Aragorn anyway - I also used to have a bit of a crush on him - and on Legolas as well! But not in real life. I don't really do crushes these days.

Greyduster Thu 03-Oct-24 17:49:09

Oh, and Alexander Dramon of ‘Last Kingdom’ fame!

I don’t think anybody has mentioned Colin Firth, my sister-in-law has had a huge crush on him ever since Pride and Prejudice. She used to live in Canada and was in a bookshop in Victoria once and the lady at the cash desk told her she had just missed Colin Firth, his first wife lives in BC, my SIL has never got over her disappointment. He’s not my cup of tea though.

I mentioned Colin Firth -- truly gorgeous!

Chris Hemsworth isn't to shabby 🤣

Grandyma Tue 01-Oct-24 15:40:04

Dave Grohl is my no.1 crush
I’ve been in love with David Essex & Paul McCartney for years.
I really like Nick Knowles too 😊

Think (#cautious optimism and cross fingers) that maybe I've finally stopped having crushes at last. It took quite a while and I even had 3 crushes in the last few years (despite being early 70's).

Now I can go back to reminding myself that crushes are probably/almost certainly the result of things like Mother Nature/hormones/Society - but not from me/Me. My brain and my logic is Me - crushes most certainly are not and are probably of Mother Nature trying to get us to reproduce (which is all pointless etc in my case - as I knew from a teenager that I didn't want to be a mother and so I made sure my body never got pregnant on me). Followed by telling my body "You can try to pull a pregnancy on me if you like - but I wouldn't let that last a week before I dealt with it - so don't even try that on me".

So - yep....I do think crushes are hormones/our body/etc and nothing to do with us/the person inside the body.

I agree with allsorts, David Mitchell is just charming with such a lovely face & Lee Mack has a certain charm too . 😉

I still feel that Richard Chamberlain is my favourite My next 'fave' is the guy who plays 'Zain' in The Bill [I'm watching the 'olden days' ones.

Greyduster Tue 01-Oct-24 11:03:31

Alexander the Great but he’s dead unfortunately, so I’ll settle for Professor Brian Cox or Rufus Sewell (or both! Who knows?😏).

Ilovedogs22 Tue 01-Oct-24 10:40:25

Yes,yes, yes in the words of dogsmother! Great choice of gorgeous men. Don't forget Timothy Dalton & Sting too. 😊

Allsorts Tue 01-Oct-24 07:42:59

I can think someone is nice looking and has sex appeal, but what I really like is someone who makes me laugh and is witty David Mitchell or Lee Mack, I don’t consider them attractive but their personalities are. They are also loyal husbands and I like that. Don’t like anyone shallow and a womaniser so it rules a lot out.,

I have had crushes on many of those named so far, but my latest is this young Irishman, who works with old-fashioned hand tools to lovingly repair old woodworking tools or small household items. He has a great sense of humour and isn't afraid to show when he messes things up.

Matthew Mcconaughey.
The Lincoln Lawyer most specifically.
Though anything with him in it. Interstellar was fab. His southern drawl gives me goose pimples though I often can’t tell what he’s saying so have to put subtitles on. Then again who cares what he is saying.
😉

Norah and Kitty…….yes yes yes !

My first crush was Richard Chamberlain who is now 90.
After that George Harrison, the boy who worked in the corner shop on Saturdays, George Clooney and Rupert Graves.

I saw a recent picture of him and he’s still gorgeous. I did see him in the street when he was working in rep in Birmingham when he wanted more acting experience. He and Sam Neill have aged so beautifully.

Another vote for Johnny Flynn, especially when singing, eg in ‘Emma’
Young Jared Leto in ‘My So-Called Life’
Leonard Whiting in ‘Romeo and Juliet’ in about 1967!

My daughter and I watched Emma together swooning away. Mind you, Johnny has gone full on wild man of Borneo looks wise recently. Not sure if it’s for a film role or whether he just got fed up of being regarded as a heart throb. I love his music! I went off Johnny Depp when he left his wife: I like my heart throbs to be loyal husbands and fathers. And Johnny fits into that category.

I keep looking up all these mens pictures online.

Now I need the voltarol blokes pic as well.

Gracesnan Sat 21-Sept-24 16:42:46

I’m in love with the old chap with the motor bike in the Volterol advert-I’d rub him in anytime!

I like a bit of rough. wink

My latest crush is Errol Shand who played the 'baddie' in ITV-X's The Twelve, season 2. Now he was a bit of rough, and at first I couldn't decide whether he was appallingly ugly or downright attractive. The attractive bit won! I wouldn't mind sharing a chocolate bar with him, any time.

🤔
He does have that Antipodean look about him.

Talking about Antipodeans, as well as Sam Neill, I'll add Hugh Jackman to the list.

Yes, Allira, to Hugh Jackman and also Travis Fimmel. Think I'll have to move down under at this rate smile.

BeneathTheHowlingStars Sat 21-Sept-24 14:59:45

Enrique Iglesias or Gary Oldman for me. Or both at the same time 😉

Kate1949 Sat 21-Sept-24 14:40:17

Jacky He can have a strop in my house any time.

I agree Casdon, a crush shouldn’t include our DHs, past or present. It’s usually one sided and often unrealistic.
Although I’m waiting for Bryan’s phone call to confirm our date at the Ivy😁

I disagree.

I still have a crush, though he became a forever husband.

He's as wonderful as ever - my feelings have not lessened.
