Good or img from a dry and bright Suffolk where we’ve had no rain for ages. The level of the pond has dropped noticeably around the edges.

We had a late invite, because of illness, to a charity dinner supporting the Peace school in the Congo. It was held in a local rectory, now privately owned and was a most enjoyable evening.

Today we must think of packing as we are off to Majorca tomorrow for 8 days with a very early pick up by the car taking us to Heathrow. I always use our holidays away to have a ‘detox’ of my iPad and phone so hope to catch up with you all against the beginning of October.

I hope those who are unwell feel better and those with worries find comfort. Warm good wishes to all.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and dull. No actual rain so far. Mizuna glorious red heads. Ladyleftfieldlover your meals always sound delicious.
Yesterday I went for breakfast with a friend. Her daughter ended up coming too and paid for us all. We had a good blether then I bought two ceramic toadstools to add to my autumn collection. The rest of the day was spent pottering and getting housework done and a visit to Aldi.
Today I will make a slow cooker pot of lentil soup and the stovies I didn't make yesterday. Dd is popping in with some cake then later I'll visit mum. I had a disturbed night with some strange dreams, so I will probably have a nap later. Have a good day all.

Good morning everyone from a cloudy and damp mid Essex. It’s mild out though and a warm day is forecast. I had a good sleep last night and feel better this morning.
Washed the glass topped garden table yesterday and put the cover on it. The chairs don’t look too bad, so will just put some of them away, I like to leave some out in case of nice autumn days.
Nothing much planned for today, it depends on the weather. If dry I may do more gardening, otherwise I may have to face sorting out my winter clothes.
Will have my usual catch up phone call to my friend in Kent.
I hope today is kind to everyone.

I’m just guessing it’s dry, my ring doorbell is on charge and I can’t see out, I’m still in bed it’s definitely cold but then I’ve just returned fro pm a hot holiday in Sicily.

Bonnybanko Sun 22-Sept-24 07:40:57

Good morning all from a dry and cold start to the day here on the east coast of Fife
I’m hoping to have a toasted roll with a poached egg on top of one side with butter and a little jam on the other side for my breakfast I might have fresh orange juice with bits in it too.
Lunch will be spaghetti hoops on toast which I love, dinner
buttered mashed potato with a couple of butchers sausages. The lurgy hasn’t diminished my appetite.

Have a safe day my friends thinking of you all x

Good morning from a dreich Fife. I'll need my wellies this morning. If it weren't for my dogs I suspect today would be a duvet/coffee/book day. A walk will hopefully wake me up. Wish you all a peaceful day.

Stilllearning Sun 22-Sept-24 07:38:23

Morning from south Lanarkshire, all calm outside, don’t know what the forecast is, I am still not connected to the outside world which, other than using up my data, is strangely peaceful!
I have decided not to continue in an uproar re Sky, OpenReach et al and do nothing till I can get an electrician to do a safety check the multiple plug set up they left

I found and am re dipping in and out of, ancient copy of Puckoon, the first book written by Spike Milligan, which absolutely would not get published now but it is disgracefully hilarious.

Mizuna, your family have such lovely colour of hair, becoming more unusual these days.

Mass this morning and a slow and useful day I hope.

Wishing everyone a good day

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 22-Sept-24 07:30:16

Morning all from a rather wet West Oxfordshire.

Our daughter is here at the moment. I made Finnish Salmon Soup for dinner last night. She thought it was as good as the version we had in Helsinki! Today roast chicken and all the trimmings is on the menu. Rhubarb and strawberry crumble for pudding. I’ve already made the crumble mix with pistachios and walnuts added to the mixture.

OH was hoping to visit a local car boot sale this morning to see about selling his honey. However, it’s been cancelled due to torrential rain.

Have a good day everyone.

RosiesMaw2 Sun 22-Sept-24 07:24:24

“Good” morning from N Bucks where it is torrential
It woke me at 4 and I have only managed to nap since then . I suspect a roof leak (the “gulley” (?) where two angles of roof join) nothing has come through -yet- but I was up looking out a washing up bowl in the garage at 5 to put under what I think is the weak spot.
I was due to go to the cinema this afternoon on BlueSapphire’s recommendation and for the first time ever I paid the extra fee against cancellation so I might just use it as I am not venturing anywhere in this, it’s like a tropical storm.
Keep safe - all who are out and about.

Good morning from Shropshire where rain is forecast all day.

Yesterday was busy with each of the children attending a party and then a play date for H.DH and DD managed to get all the decorating done.DD treated us to a Chinese takeaway for all our help and then in the evening while watching Strictly we booked tickets for the live tour💃🏻

The weather was horrendous and driving home was at times like driving through a river.

Today is the annual clear out of the under stairs cupboard😫it will also be given a lick of paint.

I love the bag and apron grandMattie.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Morning Mick, morning All from a very wet corner of Somerset.

The productive folk here have me hanging my head in shame. I did little yesterday other than put some paper away and move clothes about, gathering a large charity shop bag along the way. Unlike others I felt cold all day, Mr C thinks my thermostat is broken smile.

Today will be little different other than Mr C wants to venture forth in the rain for a light breakfast. I’m not keen but I expect we’ll go.

Hope Sunday is kind to us all.

Good morning all from a very wet Black country.
Early start DH has a fishing contest although he is not fishing he needs to attend, he runs the club and has all nets and weighing gear. He is hoping to persuade them to have a shorter contest from the usual 5hrs.
DiLs mum holding a family pre birthday party for Dgs2 that I shall attend.
Loving the apron grandMattie.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans.☀️

RosesandLilac Sun 22-Sept-24 06:49:28

Good morning everyone from a very wet hillside in south Glos; I agree grandMattie, yesterday’s weather was most odd, especially being strangely warm.
I very happily sat and started my first attempt at slow stitching, basically doing scrap booking in fabric with any materials you fancy and adding embellishments and embroidery. It was really relaxing and more will be done today.
I have been given several slow stitching kits too, to make pictures, looking forward to doing them.
I need to sort out the materials for my painting break this week, two days in Somerset, and also write instructions for DH re feeding the dog etc (if I don’t write them down he’ll simply forget). I’m looking forward to seeing the lovely tutor again.
I hope it’s a peaceful day for you all 🌹

Good morning from a drizzly Cornwall. Hail, thunder and lightning yesterday, very exciting. Something - a squirrel I expect - has stolen the apples off my patio trees, so I have no crop at all this year!

Today my son and his partner are bringing the littlest grandchildren to spend time with their aunty. Because of her blindness it's easier for her to enjoy them in my confined space than at their home where there's lots of space for them to run off. 😁 The photo is my daughter trying to talk to my grandson in a large, noisy family setting. (Red hair is rampant throughout our family; loads of recessive genes at play. 😁) After the visit we'll all pop across the road to Wetherspoons for lunch.

Bellasnana Sun 22-Sept-24 06:20:58

Good morning from Malta where it is fine at the moment.

Yesterday I really enjoyed having littlest twin for the morning. He is really good company now he’s talking better.
As it was lovely weather, I took him to the swings which he loved and I had a bit of a job persuading him when it was time to go. The walk did me good as well.

The boys are coming over this morning then I will go to Mass after which my chat with my friend. She has been unwell since returning to Leicester and thought she might have Covid but a test was negative so it must be some other lurgy.

There’s wall to wall tennis on this afternoon so I will be glued to that, watched a lot yesterday too. The Laver Cup in Berlin, nice to see them playing as a team for a change.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Ash, this woman put her bras on in the most extraordinary way - she does them up then puts them on, “like a T-shirt” she said…

Ashcombe Sun 22-Sept-24 06:13:06

Good morning from a drizzly Torbay

Further to your conversation yesterday, grandMattie, with the young woman you encountered in church, it is possible to buy front fastening bras. I bought some in M & S prior to my heart surgery in 2022. They had zips plus a hook and eye and were very comfortable.

I have a busy morning with an early church service followed by a production meeting at the theatre. This evening I shall attend an amateur performance of a two hander called Constellations. It was recently well received in Teignmouth so our theatre company is pleased to welcome the production to our stage.

A blessed Sunday to you all. 🦩💐✝️🥰🦩

karmalady Sun 22-Sept-24 06:02:20

Good morning from s somerset, very wet until mid afternoon

Thanks to a couple of posts yesterday, I cleaned and stored some of my outdoor furniture, they are all metal, one low seat is made from recycled oil drums, from Haiti and they are all precious enough to take up space in my garage. I also half emptied two tall water butts, leaving some water for any emergency, I put a ball in each. All pipes are cleaned and stored and pipe-opening stuffed with a cork

Soon I got into frogging and knitting. New jumper will be much more designer and is a whole new learning process, what with top down and German short rows. I sat the whole afternoon and evening. I will be doing better today, more standing and moving but definitely more knitting and oh yes, I have a dress to get on with sewing

I feel the hibernation transition happening, I don`t plan it, it just happens and I go with the flow

A n extra- large rye and coarse wholemeal bread is in the bm, I will leave it out and slice it tonight. Have to use the electric slicer for that as it is tough going with a bread knife. It all goes into the freezer

Have a good day

grandMattie Sun 22-Sept-24 05:55:29

Good morning from a dry Bristol. We had just a few heavy showers rather than the predicted wall-to-wall rain. It was weird as it was warm and cloudless in between.
I have no reaction to my RSV vaccination (yet!) and carried on with my busy day.
As I sat down for a quick cup of tea in church after doing my church cleaning stint, a young woman I hadn’t met came in. Ad we were the only two there, I started to talk to her. She is an engineer specialising in aeronautics. Somehow, the conversation turned hilarious, discussing bras, how we put them on, why they don’t do upon the front. It was extremely entertaining! 😂
I went home to wait for the air fryer, did some sewing (photos attached) and tried to rest a bit before rushing off for an early evening lecture on the sewn/appliqué panel exhibition.
The air fryer did arrive but I haven’t had time to play. Today?
Have a good day y’all, hope you’re not washed out.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
