Morning everyone from a cloudy corner of Essex.

I have woken up with a headache, not what I need today! Hopefully if it clears I am going to the gym, then I plan to make two large cottage pies, dinner for this evening and lots of portions for the freezer. With the chilli, ragu and chicken curry that’s my batch cooking done until I start on Christmas goodies

Enjoy it the sunshine travelling friends.

Pleased the wedding went well Pantglas

Enjoy your day 🙋‍♀️

Good morning from s somerset, it is raining now and will be all day

I bumbled about all morning yesterday, including a walk and some tidying with cleaning and the rest of the day was spent with my lovely new-style knitting.

I changed seats through the afternoon and evening and felt myself nodding at 7 while sitting in my rocking chair with knitting warming my lap. Not wanting to doze, it ruins my sleep, I tidied and wiped in the kitchen and elsewhere.

Upstairs for me at 8 with my knitting and knitting bag and had the most delicious 2 hours sitting cosy in bed while knitting with the radio on I can see me doing that during winter, the ambience is different to downstairs and I can switch my electric underblanket on if cold

Similar today I suppose, jobs around the house until after lunch then me and time with my hobbies

Have a good day

Dry and cool in the south of Co Durham. I’m up and dressed for a change. Gas boiler service this morning and I may have to drive to dd2 to collect dgd for school, they are having car trouble!
Those holiday photos are lovely ladies. Still undecided about the RSV vaccination but must go on line and book our Covid and Flu jabs.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all from Edinburgh, where it is only 3°C brrrr.
I didn't sleep well, coughing really badly this morning, it is driving me mad! My Ventolin inhaler has been in overdrive.

We are in Edinburgh for a few days and off to the V&A in Dundee, using our free bus passes.
I checked the cost of a train tickets, it was £50, the bus cost us £0, with a £1.50 booking fee. A big difference

Have a good day folks and best wishes to all the poorlies.

Susan, so sorry for what you're going through 💐.

Greyduster Wed 25-Sept-24 07:10:46

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Dry in South Yorkshire at the moment but rain is due this afternoon. We had a dry day yesterday which bucked the forecast yet again and I missed the chance to do some laundry. If weather forecasters got paid by results they’d be the poorest people on the planet! More time spent researching insurance this morning😩 and then library this afternoon for writer’s group.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from a damp Cornwall. To a favourite pasty shop this morning for a last cuppa with my daughter before her brother takes us to the station. Then a visit to the guitar shop and at some point I must pop into our police station to report a young guy dropping his trousers deliberately in front of us at our bus stop yesterday. He was off his head with some sort of substance, very sad. Describing to my blind daughter what I saw was interesting.

She engaged with his friend who is from Manchester. She has a heart for people on the edge of society and comes across a fair few in Liverpol. We have a core of older troublesome alcoholic men who hang around the area but this young guy is new to the enclave. The police here are very good with this crowd and treat them with a certain amount of compassion but this is a first and needs addressing.

My six-year-old grandson walked to school on his own yesterday, only two minutes along his road, but he felt very proud! 😍

Good morning from cool but dry and still South Lanarkshire.

I’m very envious of those currently on Greek islands. We stayed on Alonnosis a few years ago NannyJan. We flew into Skiathos and spent a few days there before coming home. I remember a street filled with music. There was a little bar where a jazz band played late into the night.

My hygienist appointment was a bit upsetting as, despite my best efforts, my gums are no better and some pockets are worse. I’ve another three appointments where anaesthesia will be used so the hygienist can go deeper.

There’s a Degas exhibition on at one of the Glasgow galleries which DH and I are going to see today, I’m looking forward to it.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Our cleaner will be here at 9, dh is going to the gym and I am going for a pedicure.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from a country house in deepest Somerset where 8 of us are on an art break for two days- 7 of us have met before so it’s lovely seeing everyone again.
My room is huge, the bathroom is bigger than my bedroom at home and has a claw foot bath! I daren’t get in it for fear of never getting out again 🫣 (there’s a huge shower too)
It’s exactly like something out of a period costume film, full of beautiful antiques and chandeliers., my bed is 6’ wide and very comfortable.
I have no idea what the weather is doing, I suspect it’s going to be wet today.
The drive down was very heavy traffic but fine, thankfully it was dry.
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

Good morning from another beautiful day in Kos. The picture is the view from our balcony.
Yesterday we got the local, very crowded bus into Kos town.
Very pretty bustling town. We spent a few hours exploring.
A lazy day today before a trip on a catamaran to Bodrum in Turkey tomorrow.
Enjoy your day everyone xx

Good morning from Malta where it is a lovely sunny morning and already a pleasant 24°C.

I’m off to look after the boys again today. They were both coughing and not themselves yesterday. We took them to the paediatrician in the afternoon who checked them over and prescribed various medications to help with the symptoms. Littlest needs ventolin inhaler as his chest is tight.

DD3 is doing full days now so it’s a long day for me but I’m happy to help, just hope I don’t catch the lurgy or I won’t be much use!

Glad the wedding went so well Pantglas, Ash what a long time you spent at the hairdresser. Mine takes about half the time for colour, cut and blow dry. monk get well soon 💐,
GM I don’t know how you do it. I’m exhausted just reading your schedule. Enjoy your last days in the sun NannyJan.

Must dash or DD3 will be late,

Wishing a good day to all.☀️

Good morning everyone from a dark Belfast.
Yesterday was our church group but when we got there the church was locked!!!
We stood around hoping someone would come with a key. Eventually we had to go and get the key ourselves. The chat was good .
Went out yesterday and got freezer stocked with meat.
Today I hope to do very little. Maybe read my book.
Whatever you're doing have a good day everyone.

Good morning from a sunny Skiathos ☀️

Our penultimate day, so a relaxing one on the beach (2nd photo)

First photograph is the view whilst eating breakfast. The bonus of having to walk up a fairly steep hill to reach Hotel.

Wishing you all the best day possible

Good morning from a dry Bristol. It is fairly chilly, goodbye “summer”!
I had another whirlwind day yesterday. Having intended to have a restful morning, it was anything but… loads of paperwork, Spanish homework, phone calls, etc. Lunch then off to church to help with the dementia tea organised by a local philanthropist. I don’t think it was particularly well advertised, as only about 20 people came, mostly church regulars. They made £100, which isn’t bad but should have been more.
I had barely got home and had dinner when it was time to set off again, this time for a PCC meeting. Fortunately, although there was a very full agenda, the vicar is a very effective chairman and we romped through it.
I came home, almost beyond tired. I fell into bed immediately. I’m still feeling under the weather from this RSV vaccine.
This morning I’ve got a dentist appointment to repair my patched up tooth. My poor purse!
I’m also going into town to the Apple shop. I’ve got problems with my iPhone which the family seems unable to fix.
With any luck, I shall just sit for the rest of the day!
May you have @ good day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Glad the wedding went well Pantglas and the rain stayed off for photos.
I'm sure posh cupboard staples hamper will be most welcome.

Good morning Mick and all who follow from a dark but dry Black country.
DH fishing again so an early start.
I've woke up with a sore throat and my voice is going so it looks like my empty will be spent indoors.
I was supposed to be helping at playgroup but will give it a miss.
Will catch up with everybody's happenings later, have a great day everyone whatever your plans ☀️.

Ashcombe Wed 25-Sept-24 05:56:47

Good morning from a dry Torbay with rain expected later.

No mischief planned, Pantglas2, but you never know……!

Yesterday was only my second visit to the salon close to home and, whilst I’m pleased with the result, the guy is very slow and took three hours to complete the cut and colour!

Today I have to take my car in early for an oil change, the need for which the onboard computer has been reminding me for a few weeks! Later this morning I’ll participate in the fourth and final Zoom session from the Stroke Association. This has been most informative and it’s interesting to hear of the experiences of others. This afternoon we have a visiting speaker at Wednesday Club presenting a talk about Richard III with music. Different!

Happy hump day, everyone! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning Mick from a dry at the moment north Wales - it’s promised biblical 🌧️ soon 🥴. Hope it doesn’t get to Rosie’sMaw pic yesterday!

Haven’t caught up with everyone’s weekend bizzinesses yet but know lots are gallivanting (yes Urms, that’ll be you 🌞) and hope those unwell have a better time soon 💐

Our family wedding was delightful (even the rain held off for photographs) and thank you all for your kind wishes - the happy pair are off on their honeymoon soon, Sorrento, and they get the keys to their new home on their return 🤗 (I’ve started a welcome hamper of posh cupboard staples as my housewarming gift…who knew fancy pasta could be so expensive eh?🥴)

Will pop in later and see who’s up to mischief…😉
