Good morning from a grey Cambridgeshire. The rain was torrential from 6 pm last night.
DH has breakfast club this morning. I am meeting an old friend for lunch in a local pub.

Hoping it will be a good day for everyone today 💐

Grammaretto Fri 27-Sept-24 07:43:58

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Calm and feels a lot warmer than yesterday's fierce wind.
I've been up since 6 trying to light my gas kiln. Succeeded by 7 so enjoying a quiet cuppa before others get up.
Sorry you are still suffering after effects from that vaccine gMattie. I hope they soon stop. You can always postpone the covid one.

That is ironic Kitty but quite funny.
Well done your DH for his volunteer driver role.

My volunteer work this morning and then I want to take my lawnmower to be repaired.
A lecture on archeology tonight.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all from a cold dry day here on the east coast of Fife. Thankfully I’m feeling much better and hoping to go to Sainsburys and my local bank which I’m sorry to say is closing down in a few months🤬🤬 luckily for me but not many others I can bank on line.

Keep safe all those who are experiencing flooding today

Good morning all. Been feeling out of sorts this week maybe due to the change in seasons.

Our town in North Wiltshire was more or less cut off on Monday with flooding after over 12 hours of monsoon like rain. We got drenched picking up GD3 from school. We were unable to drop her at home after dinner because the road at the bottom of her one was inaccessible with cars stuck so we arranged collection at the end of an alley a short distance away. The 3 main roads out of town were all impassable in places with the A4 shut for several hours.

We didn’t have DGS2 this week as he’s moved nurseries and seems much happier at the new one so we will have him alternate Mondays now. I suspect he got told off a great deal at his old one. We did see him yesterday when he and his mum came for lunch.

Hard to believe last Thursday we were sitting outside for lunch at a hotel in Wareham burning in the sun. Tomorrow we are going to DD1 overnight for my birthday and out to the usual stupendous Indian in Twyford.

Have a good day everyone. Hope all the poorlies and littilies feel better soon.

Good morning all and it’s dull but not raining yet here in Essex.

We had a delicious lunch with my two dbs , SIL, and nephew. DB2 is recovering well from his heart bypass. The pub /restaurant is our favourite and always very busy. I think I ate too much though and had stomache pains for the rest of the evening. I’m ok now though.

We’re out for lunch again today for a friends 75th birthday. I’ll make sure I eat lightly and don’t indulge in a fancy dessert.

I must pop over to see dgs and take him something nice. What do you take an 18 yr old boy/man. He’s in a lot of pain but hopefully will feel a little better each day.

Safe journey to Crewe Ash. 🚂.
Enjoy Phantom Mick. 🎭.
Get well soon Bellas little twins. 👬

Take care all 🌻🍁

Good morning all from a very wet, and quite windy, North Leicestershire.

I have to go to Waitrose and the butcher's this morning.

DH was given the opportunity to be interviewed on this morning's BBC Breakfast about his role as a volunteer driver. Sadly, and somewhat ironically, he is on a Speed Awareness Course this morning so was unable to do it.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry with light grey clouds
DGD stayed over last night so it’s the school run first thing and then not much else planned for today. I’ll hopefully get outside in the garden, I’m happy pottering and there’s always things to keep me busy
Safe travels to your DDs Ash and everyone else on the move today
Enjoy the weekend birthday celebrations Susan and Happy Birthday to H!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from Shropshire where a dry day is forecast.

Thank you so much for your kind messages and thoughts re my mum.It has helped more than you know to ease my guilt about not being able to spend every day with her.

Yesterday we caught up with housework and finished painting the kitchen which we had started earlier in the week.In the evening I went to a talk by Ann Cleeves. She was being interviewed by Steph McGovern and also being interviewed was the pathologist Prof James Grieve who features in Ann’s books as himself.Steph was a brilliant interviewer. She is a friend and neighbour of Ann and the dynamic between the three was brilliant.

Today DD is coming with me to visit mum then we will shop for H’s fifth birthday and party tomorrow.DH will have a quiet day at DD’s house then do the school run.

Bellasnanna I hope the little boys feel better soon.

Ash I will be in the Crewe area today as well.

Enjoy your theatre visit Mick and have the best day possible everyone🦩

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s getting light, fairly cool and drizzly so far. We didn’t get the forecast deluge of rain yesterday, but had bright spells and a few heavy showers.
The electrician was here for most of yesterday and will be back this morning to finish rewiring the garage and do some minor work indoors.
DD2 may come over this morning.
ash pleased your DH arrived safely yesterday, enjoy your visit to your DD.
Have a good day everyone, let’s hope for some sunshine!

Grandmabatty Fri 27-Sept-24 07:08:42

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and dawn is fast approaching with a clear sky. Ash I'm glad your dh arrived safely. Enjoy your trip to Crewe. Bellasnana poor wee boys. It's horrible when they aren't well.
Yesterday I had a very nice day. I met up with art friends for lunch. Scapa I didn't take advantage of the special set lunch because I was sure I could only manage one course! The dish I picked was very tasty. Rigatoni with spicy Italian sausage and mushrooms in a chilli and cream sauce. Yum. We blethered til they threw us out (not literally) and heading to the car park, we bumped into another art friend who was really pleased to see us. More blethering ensued.
Today will be a quiet day. Dd will pop in with dgs2 after playgroup and he'll have a bowl of grandma's soup. Her work's Macmillan coffee morning went well and all of my lemon drizzle cake sold. I might do some gardening if it stays dry. Salad nicoise for dinner to use up some stuff. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a damp and breezy Torbay.

I hope you enjoy your theatre trip, Mick; it’s good that you feel up to these excursions.

I hope your little grandsons soon pick up, Bellasnana - the new term seems to bring the sharing of bugs with the younger generation.

Thanks, grandMattie, and to all for the kind messages regarding DH yesterday; he arrived safely at Torre (small station in Torquay) at 5.30 p.m. and seemed unaffected by the frustrations of the first leg of his journey. Today we’re going by train to visit my DD and family in Crewe so another early start.

Safe travels and a good day is wished to all. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Morning everyone, I think it’s dry, still
not light.

I will wake the 9yr old up at 7am, cook his breakfast (scrambled eggs, baked beans and toast) then make his packed lunch and get him to school for 8am.

Off to the gym and then a catch up with a dear friend. DH and I will go to a local Tapas restaurant this evening.

Enjoy Phantom Mick we were fortunate to see the original production with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman (have seen it many times since).

Have a great Friday 🙋‍♀️

Good morning from s somerset, could be torrential today or could be nice and sunny, depends if a laden rain-cloud floats over here and that depends on wind gusts up on high. Complicated stuff is weather. I like that not everything is not set in stone

It would be nice to sit outside for a bit today. I have my knitting, reading, sewing today and some prep for a car trip tomorrow. I made, spur of the moment, a large veggie lasagna yesterday, most portions are in the freezer, a very delicious lasagna and I expect that was because of the tasty pitchfork cheddar

Temperature is cooling and the apple trees are now showing signs of early autumn, whilst the raspberries are beyond prolific. I am glad I planted those last year

Have a good day

Greyduster Fri 27-Sept-24 06:17:02

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a wet South Yorkshire. I decided not to go on my usual Thursday walk yesterday as the forecast was dire. Once again, the forecast was wrong and I could have gone. I sometimes think the forecasters live on a different planet! I did, however, drive over to see DD for a couple of hours and then dropped in on my niece on the way home. Domestics this morning and then volunteering this afternoon at school. DS came home from his Greek odyssey yesterday and will phone for a chat this evening.
Have the best day you can, folks.

RosesandLilac Fri 27-Sept-24 06:12:39

Good morning from south Glos. where it’s raining 🙄
It was heavy downpours all the way home from Somerset until the last two miles yesterday then it was sunshine and dry roads 😊
Very heavy traffic for much of the way and at one point it took twenty minutes to drive a mile because of roadworks (no workmen, not even a hole, just traffic lights and some cones stacked by the side of the road 🙄🤬)
I had a lovely time away, back to normal now.
Housework etc today, I will sort out the heater for my summerhouse too and unpack my painting gear.
Dog was very pleased to see me, bless her.
Nothing exciting planned for the weekend, all weather dependent I guess!
Have a lovely day 🌹

grandMattie Fri 27-Sept-24 05:49:31

Good morning from an, as yet, dryish Bristol. More rain is promised.
I had a good tai chi class yesterday - we had a good workout; interestingly about half was sitting down. Ivan only think that the tutor was feeling tired/unwell, poor man.
I’m still not 100% after the RSV vaccine. I do normally feel unwell for a day or so but never this long. COVID/flu next weekend.
My pc man called in the afternoon and we finished setting various things up, explanations on how to do stuff, where to find other things, etc,
I’ve got Spanish this morning; I hope it doesn’t rain on my walk there - I’d hate to be soaking for two hours…
I hope Ash DH made it to Blighty without further problems. So happy for fgt2 and himself enjoying Malaga.
Have a good weekend. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Bellasnana Fri 27-Sept-24 05:47:57

Good morning from Malta where it is currently 23°C rising to 28°C later. Much more pleasant than the heat of high summer.

I’m just waiting for the washing machine to finish so I can hang out the laundry before going to look after the boys.

They were both a bit up and down yesterday, feverish and coughing a lot, poor little souls. It’s a nasty bug whatever it is.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Good Morning Everyone,
Its a wet start here in brackley this morning.
I am hoping to get the bus to Bicester this morning, have some lunch and then watch some of the cycling from Zurich , I have also got a coach trip to see Phantom again in London ,coach travel with me just lately has not been the best of things as my walking pace as got slower ,although health wise things seem to be improving despite weight loss.
Take Care,
Mick
