Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry and cold outside here in brackley .
I got back just after midnight from seeing Phantom, I also experienced a bad day health wise .
Anyway its was great to see the show again , seemed more fireworks this time as due to the bad day situ ,a member of theatre staff helped me as well, when I got in the foyer a colleague of the person who helped me noticed i was struggling and was helpful in getting me to the stalls without having to use the stairs .
Today , hopefully bus to Bicester ,and then watch cycling on TV, with the usual Chinese Take Away later .
Take Care,
Mick
Sorry to hear that sad news Ash 💐
Happy Birthday glammagran 🎂🥳🥂
What lousy news Ashcombe terrible for the family x
So sad, Ash. Prayers are winging to the affected family…
Thanks all, but I don't think it is a scam as it is on a card from our local delivery office in town, if I did go to find out what it is I would pay in cash! But I am not going to bother anyway.
So sorry to hear your news Ashcome.
I am not one of life’s haters but, boy, I flipping hate cancer 🤬🤬🤬
Ashcombe ((hugs))
Very sad news indeed Ash. Bluddy cancer.
Just a quick greeting from Crewe where we arrived safely and have sunshine.
Apologies for late post but I was shocked to hear last night from the husband of one of our Props team that she is in hospital with inoperable bowel cancer. She has been unwell for some weeks and all tests conducted proved inconclusive. Now this shocking news.
I've been on the phone to various Toads people at the poor husband's request to inform them of this stark news.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings on this Saturday morning.
Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞Northampton, a fine dry day forecast. Have.just hung the towels out; I washed them last night all ready for this morning.
Only did two dance lessons yesterday instead of three, as I had a few.things to do. When I got home I made a huge curry for the slow cooker. Had a quick tidy up of the kitchen, and then headed out on the bus to the shops. Only wanted a few things, but I do like my weekend mooch. Had coffee and snack in M&S. Did my shopping and then had a look around the clothes in Next and Sainsbury's. Thought how dull and miserable they all looked with all the dark winter colours.
The curry was delicious, enough for 6 portions, which I shared out last night, and must now put in the freezer. Only had to cook rice and a poppadom to go with it.
Early lunch today then I am heading out to DD's on the bus, where I will stay overnight. I will get a bus into town, where I can get another one which will take me to a stop just round the corner from where they live, 15 miles away, the other side of Wellingborough. Thought it would save them driving over to pick me up, and I like an adventure!
DD is playing in a Last Night of the Proms concert tonight in her village, so that is the reason for my excursion. She is rehearsing all afternoon, and DS-in-law and I will share fish and chips for tea before we walk to their village hall. Should be a good evening.
Mick, I too think you should take it easy today after your bad day yesterday. Perhaps talk with your surgery.
Have a pleasant weekend everyone.
A clear blue sky and gloriously sunny day in N Bucks- good morning all.
This is the sort of weather I like and I hope the waters around us will recede and give the poor flooded residents some respite. Many of the roads are still closed so those that are open are even busier than usual.
I am sorry to hear of our opening posters’ health issues- wishing you both well. As I am sure everybody would agree, listen to your body, rest up, don’t “push through” - there are few things which cannot wait until tomorrow.
Today will be spent bagging up and putting away the summer tops etc, as this last week has convinced me Summer is well and truly behind us- sweater weather beckons.
A safe and pleasant day to you all.
Good morning all. Another cool sunny one but without yesterday's 'brisk breeze'.
Mick I'm glad you enjoyed Phantom yesterday but sorry you felt so unwell - that was such a shame.
Susan
. I'm glad you found a nurse who listened to you.
What a glorious beach photo Mizuna and glad you and your new knee enjoyed your walk.
Kitty I know just how you feel - I was having a chat with one of mine about his retirement the other day!!!
RosesandLilac I sometimes feel really poorly suddenly and have realised it happens when my body has overheated - it seems my body thermostat is a bit faulty (or else my brain isn't picking up the signals). A few minutes lying down in a cool room sorts me out. The trials and tribulations of growing older! It's a continuing learning curve. I hope you're feeling better today.
I had one of those lovely guilt-free lazy days yesterday after my pre-birthday family celebration on Thursday evening. (It's my actual birthday tomorrow when I shall have lunch with DGD1 who was working when we had the family get-together.). But like you Roses I got the washing out and dried in no time at all.
Today will be what it is - probably lazy!
Enjoy your Saturday everyone and I hope it's dry at last for those who have been enduring endless rain. For those of you in sunnier climes - just enjoy!
Be careful NannyJan it’s a scam! I got caught out. It was a mobile phone number saying “your Royal Mail driver David has tried … blah, blah”. It sent a link. Foolishly (never done this before) I gave my card details. For £1.99. I only did it because it was 2 days after our wedding anniversary party so I was taken in, assuming it to be genuine.
Two minutes after I thought “hang on - Royal Mail would KNOW my address” (the link asked for it). So I rang my bank and immediately cancelled my debit card. The bank confirmed it was a scam and issued me with a new card.
Upshot was, I was so speedy cancelling my debit card the scammers didn’t get anything. Result.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a cold, bright South Yorkshire. I’m late to the party this morning. Sorry you had a difficult day yesterday Mick; take it easy today. I managed to get some bed linen dry yesterday but it was blowing a hoolie and many pegs had to be employed to keep it on the line. I came home from school exhausted in the afternoon which is unusual for me. More laundry today, a food shop and then a walk this afternoon. A catch up with DS on the phone this evening.
Have the best day you can, folks.
Can't be a scam can it NannyJan ? There is such a scam but usually by email. £7 does sound excessive.
Oh harrigran that made me laugh! 😁
Good morning Mick and everyone from bright but chilly Carlisle. The upstairs heating, set lower than downstairs, came on this morning. I too resent having it on so early GrannySomerset but I was so cold all Thursday that I gave in. I'd been thinking I must be sickening for something but I was just cold!
I'm rather late this morning as I've popped out early for my paper. I got the last one! They only stock a few of my chosen one, the rest I wouldn't want. Perhaps I'll suggest they get more in.
A quiet day now, pottering at this and that, possibly in the garden. I got out there yesterday and put autumn feed on the lawn. A boring job.
I hope you have a better day today Mick, take it easy!
And have a good day everyone if possible.
Good morning from a chilly Black Country with bright blue sky.
Arrived home yesterday at 5pm and it felt so cold!
Unpacking and washing on this morning, whilst MrJ goes food shopping.
There was a notice from Royal Mail saying there was a fee to pay of £7 as a sender had not paid the full postage amount! No idea who or what it is from. Cannot be a birthday card as surely the extra fee would be nowhere near £7? Will have to be asking family if they sent something to me in the post.
Wishing you all the best day possible.
Feels really chilly this morning and I can see the heating may need to be on a month early which I resent but there is no point in being cold. DS due later so a quick trip to the local shop but no other plans. Hope the day goes well for everyone.
Good morning all and it’s bright but chilly here in Essex. The heating came on for the first time.
Yesterday was nice with our pals 75th birthday lunch. The place, food and staff not as good as our lunch the day before but perfectly adequate.
Both days I’ve asked the waiter how much Christmas Day lunch is? (Just out of interest). £99 and £95 respectively. 😳. Both places fully booked.
Today we have eldest DGD coming for lunch as she’s ‘home’ for a week. Her job is very stressful, demanding and exhausting. She’s only 22 and been there 6 months. She should be having fun! I’ll have a chat with her and find out what plans she has.❤️.
We’ll pop over to see Dd and gs who had the accident at work.
He’ll be off for a good while.
Your beach walk Mizuna makes me long for our seaside abode.
Take it easy those who aren’t 100%. 🍁🌻
Good morning from a dry, cold Durham. DD2 is bringing DGS2 here this afternoon, while his Daddy watches his beloved Newcastle United play at home.
DGS1 is going to a very amateur football game - his first, DD1 and SinL think he might be ready to leave at half time! He has a short attention span.
I remember my Mum spent a month in hospital in London in the ‘80s and Dad got the train from Durham almost every day to visit her - he must’ve been 70+ then.
Fgt we stay at the Valerie Mate in Malaga - near the marina -their rooftop bar seems to be the place to watch the sun go down.
Best wishes to all. X
Surely a day to stay indoors Mick? It sounds as if you had a difficult time at Phantom.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Bright but a frost today.
I like this weather though the heating has to be on.
I'm enjoying my full house. It makes me question downsizing.....
I was up past midnight waiting for my kiln to reach top temperature.
My studio is open this weekend as part of our town arts trail.
Sorry you are having health issues Mick but glad that you are still going to the musicals!
Lovely photo Mizuna and great plan Brook
Hoping everyone has a good day.
Morning from sun and 5 in S Hampshire.
A reassuring visit Susan.
What a nuisance Mick but good you enjoyed it,
Yesterday was library, charity shop to donate books, Tesco delivery and pub visit. The latter disconcerting as our landlady is leaving and she’s stripping it out, including we found, the bar stools. We’ve also been booked in for NYE grandchild sitting
Today, if it stays dry, will be some garden time and newspaper, probably football too.
🦩🦩
Good morning from a bright chilly Cambs.
I do hope you feel better today Mick, rest up. Sending best wishes to those struggling life does throw out a few challenges as we get older doesn’t it.
I had a lovely meet up with an old friend yesterday for lunch that lasted all afternoon. Our friendship has spanned some 50 years!
Today I am meeting my sister for some retail therapy and lunch and DD2 is joining us as she loves to spend time with her aunty and is a shopaholic too😂
Tonight we are off to a local Cabaret show which is held annually to raise money for charity a different cause each year. We are going with our neighbours and should be a good evening.
Hope everyone has a good weekend whatever you are doing💐
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 8°C.
Back home after our very enjoyable holiday in Edinburgh, going where our fancy takes us, worked very well. Our bus pass meant that we covered a lot of ground, where I would normally have walked too but can no longer do so. Every single bus driver was so helpful and friendly.
However, there is nowhere like your own bed, when you feel unwell. I was glad to get home.
Mick, would it not be sensible to have a day at home today and rest?
Susan, it is so difficult. 💐
DD is hosting a family brunch today, I'm looking forward to seeing my darling girls and everyone else too!
Enjoy your day, whatever your plans.
Good morning from a dry and sunny NE.
Sister and BIL took me to my hospital appointment. I have to strip to the waist for echocardiogram so I decided not to wear a bra, the sonographer was male and told me I could keep my bra on 😟 he gave me a length of tissue paper to cover myself, I ever seem to get it right.
DS and GD2 are coming today, she will spend her time doing homework but always finds time to play the piano after dinner.
I will ask her about her role in the school production, she is to play Hunyak in Chicago. I understand the dialogue is in Hungarian.
Thoughts are with those with troubles.
Good morning from cool and dry South Lanarkshire.
Hope both Mick and corner feel better as the day goes on. You too Roses.
Susan pleased to hear that you now have a plan in place.
Beautiful photo Mizuna.
No idea what we’re doing today apart from recovering from yesterday’s childcare.
Have the best day possible everyone.
