RIP another iconic actress - Barbara Leigh-Hunt - the P&P Lady Catherine

Barbara Leigh-Hunt's Lady Catherine de Burgh was wonderful, so horribly believable. She did a more good-humoured version of the same type in Wives and Daughters, as the lady of the manor (forget her name - Lady Cumnor?) - that's another of the wonderful BBC classic adaptations.

And talking of icons, yesterday we went to a ‘Conversation with Patricia Routledge’ at our local theatre. It concentrated largely on her astonishing career as a singer in musical theatre, where she enjoyed great success well before her Hyacinth Bucket fame.
She is 95!! And was very warm, witty and amusing. The audience was extremely appreciative 👏👏👏.
