Good Morning on a lovely sunny autumn day.

hollysteers Thu 03-Oct-24 09:21:47

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
No grey and nice highlights after my hairdresser session yesterday. It was so nice yesterday, I came back and had my lunch outside in my suntrap and read for a while (letters of George Sand and Flaubert).

Today prepare for my trip south tomorrow and some housework.
Sorry you are still having problems Mick and good advice to follow here. Thoughts to Susan and all with worries 🌺

Good morning from a sunny NE.
Yesterday was a bits and pieces day, I had to go to the surgery for my RSV vaccination at 4.30 pm. Waiting room was quiet and I was in and out before due time.
My friend had a positive bowel screening test and was having a colonoscopy yesterday. She messaged me in the evening to say that they were polyps and had been removed, I was so relieved as she has a family history of bowel cancer.
Today is a quiet day for me, no appointments today.
Have a good day.

GrannySomerset Thu 03-Oct-24 09:15:39

Sunshine this morning - hurrah! An empty means I can potter outside, emptying pots and preparing for next spring’s flowers. If I keep having little rests should manage what used to take an hour over the course of the day. Beyond frustrating but best not to give in.

Sorry that Mick is struggling, that GrandmaB feels rough and that Susan’s mum has been so upset, glad that Marydoll’s PP appreciates her - about time somebody did!

GrandmaC47 Thu 03-Oct-24 09:14:08

Good morning from a chilly but sun filled Co Durham. Just back from hairdressers and waiting for sister in law to arrive then we’re off to Darlington railway station bound for Edinburgh. Should be a beautiful journey up the Northumberland coast. The bus journey to Kinross isn’t quite as scenic.
Hope the poorlies feel better soon, and Mick I second the advice of the other posters. Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from a dull Co Armagh, at least it’s dry !
School Mass this morning , it’s nice to see the wee earnest faces
I’ve to do some crochet squares for the village club project , I hate doing wee fiddly squares !
Hope you see about your weight loss Michael , why did you stop the tablets ?

ginny Thu 03-Oct-24 08:59:02

Good morning from a sunny N. Bucks.
We have been back from our Greek Island hopping for a few days now and are becoming very busy again with all our clubs and hobby involvement getting going again.

WI last evening was a good talk about the Great Train Robbery by a journalist who was the first on scene.

This morning I have a manicure appointment and this afternoon I’m off to the Sewing group.
I shall spend the evening making one of my famous lists of all the projects and outings I want to do in the next few months.
Sending healing thoughts to all who are under par and wishing you all a good day.

Oh dear GG13 🙂

Puss Thu 03-Oct-24 08:57:32

Good morning everyone from Belfast I have blue skies and sun is out. Makes one feel good.
Washing already on the clothes line and another wash on.
Today DD is taking me out no idea where.
Filled the car with fuel yesterday apparently the price is going up. Probably already has.
Take care everyone especially you Michael.

Marydoll Thu 03-Oct-24 08:56:25

GG, That sounds like my missing pitta bread, which was meant for dinner. After an hour of searching, I gave up. I thought I was going doolally.
I found it later in my medicine cupboard.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 03-Oct-24 08:51:26

I best go back to bed, came downstairs and put the tea cups in the bin instead of the dishwasher 🤷‍♀️

Marydoll Thu 03-Oct-24 08:50:07

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, where it is only 5°C. I have been outside and it is a beautiful, crisp, autumn morning.

Mick instead of going out and possibly having another episode on the bus, please listen to kind posters and phone your medical team for advice.

Yesterday, there was a funeral at church, I only realised that the deceased was the grandfather of a girl I taught. She was the quietest of pupils. I didn't recognise this Goth with scarlet hair! How she had changed. I was really surprised.

I had a very pleasant meeting with the PP and discovered his sister in law and I lived across the road from each other, as teenagers. I couldn't stop laughing that I hadn't twigged, despite the fact that they both share the same unusual surname.

My cough was particularly bad and the young curate, snapped, MD, why don't you just take a glass of water?^
I said, A glass off water hasn't worked for the last forty eight years, why would it work now?.
The P.P then kindly suggested I might have reflux, I do, but it is not that, I know what is wrong, I just can't get a consultant appointment!!!
I am so embarrassed by it all and fed up feeling so unwell.
The only thing keeping me going is my bolshieness, I won't let it beat me. 😉

Today, as part of my Swedish death clean, I have a BHF pick up. I am ashamed to say, there are thirteen bags, The amount of clothes I have is shameful. I had been hanging on to clothes in case I was going to a function or special night out. Those days are long gone! I feel liberated, but DH says he doesn't see any difference! 😆

Al being well, we are off out for our anniversary lunch.

Susan, I feel so sad for you and your family.

Have the best possible day and hugs for those with mountains to climb.

Jaxjacky Thu 03-Oct-24 08:41:29

Morning from a sunny S Hants. Take it easy Grandmabatty I covid tested last night for this persistent cough/cold as a friend rang to say he had it, I was neg.
How thoughtless with your Mum Susan, no thought.
Our drive through the New Forest yesterday was delightful, all the bracken is turning colour as well as the trees, four hours with our friends passed in a flash.
Freezer shopping today after I’ve been to lunch with another friend, MrJ has offered to vacuum and other chores whilst I’m out.
Still no sign of WhiteWave I miss her eloquent postings.

Good morning all. It was a lovely rosy sunrise this morning bathing the woods in an autumnal glow. Yesterday was an absolutely glorious summer's day - the like if which we scarcely saw during the summer 😉. I think today will be cloudier, but still lovely.
Your poor mum, Susan. I suspect an emergency admission prompted the move and it wasn't for the good of your mum. What a state our health service is in ..... I hope you'll find her unphased by the move now, but at the time she must have wondered what was going on.
Sorry to gear about your son's long COVID karma, and your DH's COVID cornergran. I hope you avoid it.
My DD3 is visiting this afternoon. DD1 has announced a visit next week! I suspect their mum down in Nottingham is behind this sudden flurry of attention - she was worried that I "didn't seem right" at my birthday family meal, although I explained that it was too noisy for me to hear any of the conversation, and that I'm always tired in the evening ......... Oh the joys of old age! Anyway, it's always nice to see them and I'm looking forward to their visits - they're lovely girls and I adore them
Now off I trot to prepare for tai chi first, followed by a quick sprint to the shops before The Visit.
Enjoy your day everyone x

Beechnut Thu 03-Oct-24 08:22:36

Good morning everyone. A lovely sunny morning here on Severnside.
My car passed its MOT yesterday. For some unexplained reason I was feeling anxious about it but all was well. My friend came in the afternoon to ask about borrowing something and she will return this afternoon to pick it up in her car.
I’m going out this morning for a few hours and will do the washing when I get home.
I’ll now make another cuppa and read all your news.

Take care all 🌺

Grammaretto Thu 03-Oct-24 08:21:57

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I'd guess it's about 10° and dry.
Yesterday was lovely and sunny so I sat outside soaking up the sun!
I was sorry to miss the DGC concert but DS videoed both their solos, clarinet and flute so I can listen again and again!

I enjoyed my night out with the "girls"
I had a call from NHS Lothian orthopaedics reminding me I'd been on the waiting list a long time. Still no vacancies here but if I am prepared to go to Glasgow - the Golden Jubilee at Clydebank - they could give me a new hip in 3 or 4 months. Yippee! Did you hear me crying with joy?

Poor Mick such a horrible time you're having. I hope you get some relief soon.
Rest up Grandmabatty. I hope you and any other poorly grans get well soon.
Have a good day everyone.

BlueSapphire Thu 03-Oct-24 08:21:21

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞Northampton, no rain forecast today, so I have just put a load of washing in the machine. May do another load later.

A pleasant afternoon was had at book club yesterday, no fizz, but chocolate cake!

Sainsbury's delivery later this morning, then after lunch I plan on going to the library to pick up my reserved book. Shall get the bus up there but try to walk home as it is all down hill! It's about 25 minutes to walk back.

Mick, I really think you need to seek medical advice - please do so.

Have a good day everyone.

Gingster Thu 03-Oct-24 08:21:15

Good morning all from a grey looking Essex. Such strange weather. I got soaked walking from the bank to the coffee shop to meet my friend. Half an hour later we came out to lovely sunshine.

Had a lovely lunch and wander in town with Dd and dgd1. We went into the home care shop where they had an amazing sale in duvet sets. We each bought one. Brushed cotton for the winter chills. I’ll take ours up to our seaside cottage which looks over the North Sea and can be wild , windy and wonderful.
I treated DGD to hers as she’s in rented accommodation with other girls and money is tight.

Today I’m meeting my two old school friends. We started school together aged 5 and we’ll be 75 next year. We’ll be arranging our celebrations. 🥳.

Take care Mick, stay in today and recover from your ‘bad’ night.

Oops hope all goes well 🤞

Pants I know how you feel re car.
We have an old MG only a year younger than me. It’s just been in the garage for work and Dh will put it up for sale. We’ve had it 30 years. 😢 .

Take care all and I hope those under the weather feel better soon. 🌻🍁

EkwaNimitee Thu 03-Oct-24 08:04:25

Good morning Mick and everyone from misty Carlisle but the sun is probably going to clear that off shortly,
Mick, I'm going to be boring and echo all the above advice re your health!

Yesterday's trip to Newcastle went well, it's a scenic train journey over. The leaves are turning gold, the multitudes of sheep are fattening up, no little lambs skipping about now just sedate ladies lounging about.

Today, the ironing and a lot of sorting out of clothes and tidying up. Also, annoyingly, I have to go into town again to collect a prescription that couldn't be filled yesterday....after I'd walked up from the station to the chemist too. I have to wait till after 11am and my Tesco delivery is due shortly after so town will have to wait till after lunch. I much prefer to be in town when the roads and shops are less busy.

I hope your Mum wasn't overly upset by the move Susan. Have the staff no imagination?!

Do have a good day everyone.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Thu 03-Oct-24 08:02:28

Good morning everyone from sunny Málaga. Another beautiful day ahead. I slept all night on top of the duvet it was so warm. I obviously put them on the beds too soon after one chilly night!

Our friends from Bolton go home today. We’ve not seen them much apart from a drink in Pedro’s after LWW as they have friends who live out here and apparently there’s been a falling out since the last time they were over, so there’s split camps now to make arrangements - which has kept them a bit too busy really organising to see everybody. We said we’d meet up for a curry once we’re home!

Himself has been invited to watch Rangers tonight in a sports bar by two Glaswegian friends. It’ll be a late night for him as kick off won’t be till 9pm here. As he enjoys watching a good game of ⚽️ I’m sure he’ll cope.

Hope all the poorlies feel better soon. 🤞

Good morning from a much brighter Black Country with blue skies!

Yesterday I popped to Merry Hill, to buy a few things and exchange a gift with a gift receipt for a gift card for Next.

Then had a lovely couple of hours with DGD2 who came after college for something to eat, before going to a Careers Fayre at College. Is is thinking along the lines of Biomedical Degree.

Today I have a hairdresser appointment this morning, then Dentist this afternoon. An expensive day. I have to have a Crown so that is going to be over £300!

Glad you are feeling better Monk I thought you were on holiday!

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Grandmabatty Thu 03-Oct-24 07:59:30

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 5° and foggy. Susan your poor mum. It must be very confusing for her. Mick sounds like you should see your doctor.
Yesterday I rested to try and get over whatever it is I have. I had a really bad night and was awake and sore often. My glands are raised in my neck and abdomen and that's what's sore. Dd is unwell too. I'll do a covid test later. I should have been at an art class today but I've cancelled it. All in all, I feel a bit miserable with life. Have a good day all

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 03-Oct-24 07:56:01

Good morning from a bright Oxfordshire.

Hair dresser this morning, MrOops is off to dog sit.

Nephew has moved out and the change in the dog has been remarkable, she is no longer scared and unwilling to go back to her house anymore. Proves that dogs pick up on stress, nephew loves her to bits, but is one very stressed and unhappy chap.

Stressful times here at home at the moment too, a house is about to exchange and complete, fingers crossed.

BIL now very poorly, we saw them at the weekend, he has just visited the Hospice where he will go when he needs it, very sad for them all, I’ve known him since I was 16, 6 months after I met MrOops.

Anyway,

, Mick please contact your team at the JR, I’m sure they will want to check you out.

Have a good day everyone, let’s hope it stays fine and dry.

brook2704 Thu 03-Oct-24 07:52:22

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a bright start to the day with blue sky and hopefully some sunshine later
Hoping your mum has settled ok Susan
I had a busy day yesterday, out all afternoon volunteering and at DD2s in the evening, all really enjoyable. I’ve nothing planned today except to pack my little case ready for a trip to DD1s in Cambridge this weekend
A shame about such a wet holiday lulu but hope you still enjoyed it ☔️
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
