I was spoiled for tasty treats today at the baby shower of a young friend and colleague from my supply teaching days pre- Covid. The venue was the country hotel where they were married two years ago. A lovely afternoon!

After two and a half hours sleep it was a grumpy corner this morning. Giving myself a shake we set off into a wonderfully sunny day, such a treat. Took the bus to a local museum, enjoyed a wander round before settling in their cafe for lunch. I wondered what the hard bit was in my panini, oh dear, half a tooth. Dental trauma ahead! Fortunately it’s not painful or visible. Not to be deterred by my dental anxiety we wandered to the sea front and had a relaxing, calming wander on the beach enjoying seeing families having fun. Back on the bus to relax at home. Simple things but one of the best days for a long while.

Thank you carillion, good to see you, I’ll enjoy a pastry with my bed time drink. If you need to declutter more treats you know they will always be welcome here, as are you .

Hope tomorrow is a good day yia, take one at a time, life has been stressful for you. I think we’re hard wired to help our families brook, you’re right, sometimes we need to step back, hard though it may be to judge when. Something I need to learn with a couple of people too.

Time to settle for bed. Hope I manage more sleep tonight. Goodnight everyone, sleep well.

Just back from a meal out with my friend across the road.
Sadly ,as sometimes happens, nothing suited her.
I had chosen the venue, it wasn’t right, her meal was not good, mine was fine.
I have so few friends left now to go out with and no immediate family apart from my GD, newly in love and that is fine so I just deal with it.
Age has some compensations nothing really worries you anymore.

‘Evening All’ just back from a gorgeous meal in Hale, Cheshire. Beautiful restaurant, three floors! The mirrors, chrome and glass wear shone. The staff were friendly and just the right side of attentive. I enjoyed my food, the company of dear friends and people watching discreetly! Himself ate well so my heart sang. Just about to make two mugs of Horlicks now, then 💤

Yiayia hope you’re getting along comfortably. It’s been a stressful time for you. Don’t overdo things.

Good evening everyone. It’s damp here, so no gardening today. I hadn’t expected either of my DDs to come today, they’re usually very busy with the grandchildren’s activities on Saturdays, but first DD2 arrived with her two, followed after lunch by DD1, her two daughters and the dog!
Apart from changing my bedclothes, I’ve had a lovely day!
Tomorrow will be very quiet, as they’re all going to various events in town. I’ll have my usual hour long catch up with my friend on the Kent coast and try to work out how to return an item to John Lewis! I bought it online but will take it back to the nearest store.

We return to our beloved Scottish Borders after ten wonderful years in Brittany, France.
I’m decluttering like a mad woman but have already sent a hamper of French pastries and jams to the wonderful kitchen.

Been getting my cat fix,DS1 and family are away for a few days so I’m feeding the cat.He’s a dear old soul and loves a fuss.
Half term here now and eldest grandson can relax after doing his mock a levels
He hopes to go to Warwick Uni so fingers crossed.We are plodding on but realise life will not the same however,feeling thankful as it could have been much worse.

Good afternoon kitchen pals, it’s cold, grey and raining here in Inverness so no chance of being outside tidying the garden. I did call into DD2s earlier, emptied her dishwasher, made her a cup of tea, tidied the DGCs bedrooms and put the rubbish out. She did say ‘thank you mum I really appreciate it’ so that was kind but I do think she’s getting a bit too used to me popping round to help 🙄
DD1 and family have just flown to Copenhagen for a few days grannmarie so I told them what a lovely time you’d had. They’re back midweek. DS is busy in Basel, it’s the Autumn Fair there this weekend so lots going on

It’s quiet in the kitchen today so hoping everyone is busy doing things they enjoy or happy just sitting quietly in the corner

I’m going to settle down early tonight to watch Strictly, nothing much else planned

Hello kitchen people.

I have felt much better today but not quite up to doing much.

The landlord and his wife at our favourite Sunday Roast venue are moving to a new pub soon so we have booked lunch for this Sunday. He said to turn up at 1.45 pm and hopefully there will be a table! They do the best old fashioned, traditional prawn cocktail.

Sleep 💤 tight.

Bed for us soon. I went over to be with the Boy wonder, last day today as his mum & L’il Miss finished today. The three of them are all,off together next week. Himself went out to watch ⚽️ training session earlier. It’s been sunny and mild here all week.

Hello from a cloudy Essex, it was quite sunny and warm earlier, but now it’s grey and cooler.
I had intended to do a lot of housework today, but my neighbour rang this morning and suggested we went to the local garden centre for coffee! I didn’t need to be asked twice, so we had a nice catch up and a mooch round the garden centre. She and her husband are really busy, he’s still working and she helps their daughters a lot, so we rarely see each other.
The gutters were cleared this morning and after lunch I did some ironing and vacuumed everywhere. So some of the to do list was achieved!

I’m just back from dropping DGD off home, she’s been such a good little helper and good company. A quick tidy up then I need to get ready for another night out! I know you’ll keep your eye on the CCTV Jax this is the same group of ladies who led me astray last time - but I promise to be better tonight ….. Two nights out in one week, could get used to it 😀
