I do read the posts later Taichinan

Recently you described yourself as a gt gt grandmother. I am sure that's not true! You added an extra great. I am sure you are great in every sense of the word.

Late again! But good morning to anyone still reading from a grey Angus coast. Horrible night of very little sleep, but that was in a way self-inflicted. As I was tidying up before bed I discovered I hadn't taken my BP pills that morning, so took them then. But one of them has 'a slight diuretic effect' and I was up and down to the loo like a demented yo-yo until about 4am. I'll not be doing that again!
Anyway I had a lovely lunch in a local hotel yesterday with my fellow tai chi instructors - three hours of chat and laughter. The hotel was my choice of venue because it is carpeted and curtained and makes hearing conversation a little easier - but the food wasn't as good unfortunately.
Anyway, after all the faffing about this past week I am now set for a quiet weekend. I haven't read any of your posts yet so that will be my treat for later. All of you with problems of one sort or another are in my thoughts flowers and I hope all the holiday makers are enjoying their time away.
Have a good weekend x

You’ve sussed me grandMattie. A side hussle as they say… only here in Spain.

Stilllearning Sat 05-Oct-24 09:32:11

Morning from a dull South Lanarkshire, no rain predicted but the sky looks very heavy.

Lovely picture Grammaretto.

💐*Susan*, difficult times.

I hope you feel better as the day goes on GrannySomerset, it is hard feeling rotten when you’re on your own.

Preparation day here for some family coming for lunch tomorrow, I’m so lazy now, I much prefer to go to them but it will be good for me to rise to the occasion (I hope)!

Lots of difficulties around this morning so good wishes to all. I really hope all the suggestions from your team make a difference Mick

Oops we have a gym underneath us at home. I’ve managed never to cross the threshold. 🤣

Ours will be 5 miles away!

I might need to pop into Greggs afterwards as my reward!

Good morning. Rather dull here in N. Bucks.
Busy day ahead. DD3 is away for the weekend so we are collecting youngest DGS. from Rugby Tots and taking him to a friends party. His Daddy will be with his older brother at football training.
This afternoon the boys ( plus SIL) have asked to go to the local nursery ( flower) to buy some bulbs and plants for heir garden tubs. They looked after the summer plants so well.
I expect they will come back to us for something to eat.

Wishing all a good day.

Good morning from a beautiful day in Suffolk. I think I’ll go out with DH for the dog walk soon. I haven’t had the energy because of this wretched cold since we got home from holiday on Tuesday.

It is the annual village Apple and pumpkin day in the hall and on the playing field. It is always a popular event with competitions for the largest pumpkin etc, freshly made apple juice from local apples and lots of activities for the children such a welly throwing. Local produce will be on sale with proceeds for the church.

It’s good it’s such a bright start to the day which will mean a very good attendance.

Old fashioned fun which must have been very common in rural communities years ago.

grandMattie Sat 05-Oct-24 08:52:06

FGT2, is that pole for you to use (dancing)? 🤣

BlueSapphire Sat 05-Oct-24 08:51:07

Good morning everyone from a dull and overcast Northampton, at least it's dry and no rain forecast till tomorrow. I shall cut the back grass this afternoon.

Had three good dance classes yesterday morning and had coffee with a friend afterwards. Early dinner then out to an evening rugby match. We.had been asked to download an app onto our phones and when prompted in the stadium open the app as our team came out. and we had a wonderful light show as our phones responded to the music! Hope we do it again, it was lovely.

My team were rubbish in the first half and were several points adrift at half-time, but had come out like a different side in the second half - we held on, had some good tries and won by 4 points. Elation all round the stadium! I came home and watched the second half again!

Out to do my top-up shop this morning, plus coffee and a snack.

Hope Saturday is kind to all.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 05-Oct-24 08:50:31

Lovely photo Grammaretto.
grandMattie ouch! 😱 no wonder you’ve lost your confidence dear lady. It’s been months now. I know we all hope to hear some good news from you soonest. At least your daughter is on the case with you.

GrannySomerset Sat 05-Oct-24 08:38:26

Had my flu and covid jabs yesterday and by evening felt terrible. Disturbed night and feeling very sorry for myself this morning, so a low key day is inevitable with nobody to minister to me - have just pushed myself to make a mug of tea and feel as if I have climbed a mountain. Hope everyone else has a better day!

Harris27 Sat 05-Oct-24 08:32:50

Good morning all. Quiet day planned with some afternoon tea meet up with some work friends. Been hectic week and the weather has turned colder here in the north. Asthma has started as the sun goes down right on time. I joke with hubby it’s time to draw down the hatches and start hibernating! Hate the cold! Have a good Saturday all.

Grammaretto Sat 05-Oct-24 08:32:05

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Looks like a lovely autumn day. Pity I'm in a zoom meeting all day. First to deliver flowers if the deer have left me any and a cake to the Town Hall for that coffee morning.
So glad your welfare is being looked after Mick.
I had a nice dinner party, just 3 of us last night putting the world to rights. I am hopeful that my lodgers will be back in their own home quite soon.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Another beautiful morning here in Málaga. Temperatures will climb to 32°C again today. Lovely.

Good morning everybody. We slept like logs again, nine hours in total. We will walk halfway to Arroyo (10minutes) to stretch our legs and have coffee and croissants in our favourite little bar/cafe opposite the police station - it’s very popular with them too!

Gardens this afternoon, then we are meeting neighbours who are over from Bognor Regis and we plan just to eat in Pedro’s together tonight. See pic.

I will ring both our girls this afternoon as it’s weekend. Be good to have a catch up see how their week has gone.

Bellasnana Sat 05-Oct-24 08:24:59

A quick good morning from Krakow where it is lovely and cool!

Arrived late last night, Airbnb is ok but I’d rather be in a hotel if I’m honest. Never mind, my lovely friend and I haven’t stopped talking. It’s so nice to catch up, we’ve been pals since 1976 and she’s been such a rock through my many difficult times.

We are off to explore soon. Will read your posts later.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

monk08 Sat 05-Oct-24 08:22:06

Good morning all from the Black country.
Have been awake on and off since 4am, I think it was due the bump we had in the car yesterday playing on my mind. No injuries but slight damage to paintwork nearside.
We both had our flu jabs yesterday DH had the covid one as well, I declined as I was bad last year after I had it.
Will catch up with everybody's happenings later usual full English calling.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans ☀️.

harrigran Sat 05-Oct-24 08:19:35

Good morning from a dry NE.
Yesterday's lunch out was not as enjoyable as the last time we ate there, everything is on the bone and charred. I ordered chicken and it was literally half a chicken on the plate. When we came to ordering dessert they didn't have what we wanted.
The wine was fine and we talked to the waiter, my friend asked where he was from as he was obviously not a local. The waiter said he was from Albania and was a qualified dentist but enjoyed working in hospitality. There is a great shortage of dentists in our area but he said there are more important things than money.
DS is coming this morning after dropping GD2 at school, it is open day and she will be showing round prospective pupils and parents. GD is a good ambassador for the school, she is not just academic but takes part in all sorts of extra curricular activities.
Have a good weekend.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 13°C.

Susan, I find walks like yours healing, if I can't do that, pottering in the garden lifts my mood. 💐

Mick, glad you sought advice, hopefully things will improve. I always book a disabled room on holiday, it makes such a difference, especially the extra space and handrails in the bathroom.

Bonny, did you test for Covid? Given your history and the length of time, you have been feeling unwell, it might be worth speaking to your GP for advice.

I was supposed to speak at the Masses this weekend, but my chest is not good, so it won't be happening. A quiet day for me.

Have the best day possible.

Gingster Sat 05-Oct-24 08:17:08

Good morning and we’re hoping for another lovely day here in Essex. Yesterday was a beautiful autumn day.
🌻🍁.

Optician visit was fine. A new prescription ordered but ok news on the glaucoma front. I’m still waiting for an appointment from the hospital. It’s been 13 months since the last one and they said they’d see me in 4 -6 months. I can’t get through to the hospital, of course! 🙄.

We had a lovely catch-up with our usual Friday pals and were joined by a couple of relatives of one of our group. Two ladies from France who are great fun.

Today I’m having a pedicure (first one ever) and then picking up a parcel from M and S. Dd and little DGD will come in after dancing, have lunch and then she’s off to a party.

Dgd1 is back to southampton today. We’ll miss her.

Sorry to hear of your upsetting news Susan. 💐.
Safe journey home Sar. ✈️.
Enjoy the time with your family Brook.

Ive cancelled my Covid jab but will have the flu jab. 💉.

Take care all. 🌻🍁

Good morning from a dry, but dull Black Country.

The sun shone yesterday and it was a lovely day. Mum and I went to the Memory cafe, where a duo was singing. We won the raffle again. Pair of tickets to see The Crooners in November. I think Mum will go to this with me as it is her era musically.

Afterwards we met DS for lunch in town, as he was in the office that day. So had a lovely hour with him.

Today I am off to the Theatre to see The Wonder Boy. The tickets were won in the raffle last time at the Memory Cafe. I rarely win raffles, let alone two on the trot! My friend is coming with me, so we shall have lunch beforehand. MrJ didn't like the sound of it, but it has very good reviews.

I sincerely hope gM that you are successful in recovering your money. These people are absolutely despicable.

Wishing you all the best Saturday possible.

Grandmabatty Sat 05-Oct-24 08:14:20

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 13° and dull. Susan I'm sorry that you've had upsetting news.
Still living quietly here. Dd popped in with dgs2 yesterday for his soup and a quick catch up. She had bought me a candle of apple spice and an autumn doormat. They didn't stay too long as she's making someone a birthday cake. Resting is helping and I had cauliflower cheese for dinner. I didn't fancy anything else.
Today I've woken up with swollen glands again, so I'm obviously fighting off an infection somewhere. I'll have another quiet day. Take care all

luluaugust Sat 05-Oct-24 08:08:42

Good morning from a cloudy W Kent. Flu jabs this morning,DH will have his Covid if available, I want one at a time as I felt really ill after the last Covid jab
Otherwise a quiet day with curry tonight

Good morning from Durham. Cool, grey and still - again. My Sis-in-law is driving home today. She’s good company, but our interests differ, so it’s been a tiring week for me and quite hard work. I think I’m getting anti-social in my old age, or just set in my ways! Hopefully bedding and towels will be washed and dried later.

I hope you find the advice given of some help Mick. I think there’s a hint to take it a bit easier in there?

Susan💐 difficult times.

Best wishes to all. X

EkwaNimitee Sat 05-Oct-24 07:54:28

Good morning Mick and everyone from Carlisle where we have light cloud and a forecast for a dry day.

A busy day for me yesterday sorting out this and that and I'll do the same today. I'll also have a phone chat with my sister which we do most Saturdays. I'm not popping out for shopping today as I'm well stocked up.

Wishing you all a good weekend if possible.
