Good morning from a dark, chilly Bristol. We are promised another perfect autumn day!
Well done, Mick for contacting your medical ream. I hope the advice they have given you is helpful.
I had a rather “glass half empty” day yesterday. Thank you for all your kind comments; they really help.
My Spanish class went well. We seem to have a good rapport with each other and spend a lot of time laughing - which is so healing.
This morning is very busy and l shall do nothing in the afternoon.
Firstly, I’m going to the lovely greengrocer who will give me vegetables for the Harvest festival display, then to use making preserves for sale in the church.
Then, in church, I must arrange said vegetables. I’m also serving coffee so must rush around doing that.
At midday, I have a COVID vaccination, so will need to rush there. I hope I feel ok; not holding my breath after the horrible couple of days after the RSV one…
I hope you all have a gentle, contented weekend. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning Mick hope the info from your team helps you.

It’s still too dark to see what the weather is like here, yesterday morning it was either heavy mist or a touch of fog, but after it burned off it was a lovely day.

Off to have a look at the revamped Gym this morning to see if I want to join it again, it’s so expensive, but It had some good equipment , hopefully it will be a good place to go a couple of days a week, easy to get to and plenty of parking.

Apart from that, just some ironing to do, then an easy day, with a fish pie to cook later.

Let’s hope the sun shines, it makes the shorter days easier to cope with.

Sar53 Sat 05-Oct-24 06:10:41

Good morning from our last day in Kos. The sun is shining, as it has done every day we have been here.
We will be home by about 5'sh tomorrow.
It's been a great holiday but I think we are both ready to go home now.
Breakfast time now so I must go.
Best wishes to all xx

Good morning, dark and dry here in south Glos, hoping for another lovely sunny day.
Nothing planned for this weekend, I will enjoy my dog walks today, the dog and I are perfectly happy just pootling along, she will sniff every blade of grass while I enjoy looking at the berries in the hedgerows and the trees and just making the most of being outside.
Perhaps we’ll head across the fields this morning for a change, I will drive to the edge of the village.
Have a lovely weekend 🌹

Good morning from Shropshire where another dry sunny day is forecast.

Yesterday was a lovely sunny day.Washing dried outside and I walked into town and back down the lanes instead of along the main road.It was very healing being out and about enjoying nature. We didn’t go to the wedding in the evening as my brother gave us an upsetting report from the hospital and we just felt we needed to stay at home.My friend was very understanding although I felt guilty for not attending.

Today we are taking the children to their clubs which are once a month in our town.It is apple day in town so lots going on.My younger brother will visit mum today so will await his update.

My thoughts are with all struggling with life for whatever reason💐

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

kittylester Sat 05-Oct-24 06:55:00

Good morning all from a misty looking North Leicestershire.

We have our flu jabs this morning at 9.04 and 9.08. Hope they are on time. We are going to gave supper with one of my brothers this evening. My other brother will be there along with an Australian relative and her daughters (i have no idea how we are related and nor does she really) Not really sure how much fun it will be.

Have the best day possible all.

Ashcombe Sat 05-Oct-24 06:57:57

Good morning from a dry and calm Torbay but forecast to be windy later.

It sounds like good advice from your medical team, Mick.

I’m glad you’ve had some time to yourself, Susan56, to commune with nature and that your brothers are sharing the visits to mum. Such a harrowing time for you all which your friend would understand. I’m sure having the children will be a welcome distraction.

Good luck with your harvest plans, grandMattie, and the Covid vaccination.
I hope Bellasnana had a safe journey to Krakow and enjoys all that beautiful city has to offer. Also, safe homeward travels to Sar53 tomorrow.

With the support of walking poles (and DH) I managed to walk to the Downs early evening although my ankle was grumpy at times. We enjoyed a visit to our favourite watering hole, too!

A good weekend is wished to you all. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning all from a dark and cold day here on the east coast of Fife.
I’ll be having a jammy day today , I had a return of the lurgy yesterday I’m certain it’s the new covid variant, still mild with taking paracetamols. Hopefully it will be gone by next week I’ve had it ever since coming home from Sicily.
I’m now looking at a cruise for 2026 with Limitless travel it looks so exciting.

Have a good day my friends take care and be kind

cornergran Sat 05-Oct-24 07:05:11

Morning Mick, morning All. A sunny day forecast for our corner of Somerset.

Little happening here. Enjoyed sorting some garden containers yesterday, out with the summer plants and in with bulbs and the cyclamen that had been languishing in pots for over a week. Mr C is quite weak, coughing less thankfully, he’s impatient, early days yet. Not sure how today will unfold, lots of faffy indoor things I should do, suspect they will still be there tomorrow as I’ve little energy for them or indeed the enthusiasm.

Hope the advice helps mick, I’m pleased you had that chat. No need for guilt susan, it’s a difficult time flowers. Have a trouble free trip home after your holiday sar. Sounds a hectic morning grandmattie. 🤞 for no unpleasant after effects from your vaccination.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Greyduster Sat 05-Oct-24 07:19:26

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A pretty sunrise this morning, but it’s cold. I walked to school yesterday afternoon on lanes full of crunchy leaves and it was quite warm in the sun. When I came home I had little energy to do anything so I went to the supermarket and then curled up with a new book. DS is coming down for a football match today. He will call in on the way down and then again before he goes home. These match days are always flying visits but I take what I can. Apart from that, I will start to put the garden to bed today, but I bought some heathers yesterday for a new bed I’m making at the front, so need to plan where to position them.
Have the best day you can folks.

Redcar Sat 05-Oct-24 07:30:06

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. The cloud is broken with bits of blue showing so hope it will be another sunny day. Yesterday was a beautiful day, blue sky & sunshine. I took the decision to put away my shorts for the year! Very sad but necessary. Also had a sort through of my trousers and have put some in the bag for charity as they’re too uncomfortable to wear now!
Flu jab at 9.30, then have to look after my friend with dementia so her husband can have his flu jab.
I need to do some washing which should dry outside.
susan I hope there is better news of your mum today. Look after yourself.
ash good that you were able to have an enjoyable walk yesterday.
I hope Saturday is kind to us all. Safe travels to those on the move!

Jaxjacky Sat 05-Oct-24 07:37:14

Morning from a dry S Hampshire, it’s cool and we’re due sun.
Enjoy your last day Sar
Sounds like a healing walk Susan much needed, I’m sorry to hear your news.
gMattie new compensation rules on Monday for scams, fingers crossed for you.
I got my washed hoodie and more jeans dry yesterday, our Tesco delivery was delayed by two hours as the van broke,
down. First delay we’ve had in five years, I felt sorry for the driver, I’ll be car less from today as my daughter is borrowing it, hers needs work.

Morning all from a grey looking West Oxfordshire.

We had our flu and Covid jabs yesterday. Both my arms ached last night so I didn’t sleep that well.

A quiet day, I think. We have holiday admin to do ready for next Thursday. I also have bits of WI stuff to sort out.

Have a good day and I’m thinking of those of you with difficulties.

karmalady Sat 05-Oct-24 07:41:27

Good morning from s somerset, sun and clouds today

It was so lovely yesterday, I sat out for a while, did the weeding and cleared the last small veg bed, all covered now and winter-ready.

I have enjoyed this week tremendously, very quiet, reflective and calm. Lots of small jobs done and a couple of shelves are emptier. I even scrubbed oiled and waxed two big wooden chopping boards. I did not do anything fast and just followed my inclinations

I watched jackdaws, they are using hard surfaces and worked hard to get the nuts out of hard acorns. Very rhythmic hammering with their strong beaks. They seem to be keeping an eye on me and my house

Today, I am making my christmas mini food order. I have already been asked to go to family but mainly will be on my own. I need to make the order early, some of the nicest and most unusual items will sell out

I am thinking I will be bringing some stove fuel indoors, just in case and I will be lifting the brabantia out of its socket, to store safely in the garage. I might even weight down a wooden bench and cover it. It is early days but I am not using that bench much at the moment. I once saw it lift in strong wind, when covered and I always put a couple of concrete slabs on the seat now, under the cover. Forecast is for bad weather, this month

Have a good day

grandMattie Sat 05-Oct-24 07:46:19

jax, thanks for the info, but it is for scams after October.

The one I was involved in was in February…. And sadly it is for a great deal more than the £80k limit.

brook2704 Sat 05-Oct-24 07:46:31

Good morning everyone from DD1s spare bedroom in Cambridge where it’s a grey and damp start to the day
Yesterday’s journey here took longer than expected due to traffic, delays and cancellations but I arrived about 6.30ish.. Too late to collect the boys from school but they all kindly picked me up from the station. This morning is busy with football and swimming and I don’t know what we’re doing later, but I do know Ive been booked for babysitting later this evening!
I’m sure your friend understands it’s such a difficult time for you Susan and sorry to hear about the upsetting news from your brother. Enjoy the time today with the children
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

GrannyGravy13 Sat 05-Oct-24 07:49:31

We have our flu jabs this morning, hopefully they will still do mine as I have a cold. Then I have a birthday gift to buy, and a quick whizz round Aldi.

Then a bit of sorting to do in my Christmas present cupboard 🎄afterwards it will be sofa and kindle.

Have a lovely day 🙋‍♀️

EkwaNimitee Sat 05-Oct-24 07:54:28

Good morning Mick and everyone from Carlisle where we have light cloud and a forecast for a dry day.

A busy day for me yesterday sorting out this and that and I'll do the same today. I'll also have a phone chat with my sister which we do most Saturdays. I'm not popping out for shopping today as I'm well stocked up.

Wishing you all a good weekend if possible.

Georgesgran Sat 05-Oct-24 07:58:48

Good morning from Durham. Cool, grey and still - again. My Sis-in-law is driving home today. She’s good company, but our interests differ, so it’s been a tiring week for me and quite hard work. I think I’m getting anti-social in my old age, or just set in my ways! Hopefully bedding and towels will be washed and dried later.

I hope you find the advice given of some help Mick. I think there’s a hint to take it a bit easier in there?

Susan💐 difficult times.

Best wishes to all. X

luluaugust Sat 05-Oct-24 08:08:42

Good morning from a cloudy W Kent. Flu jabs this morning,DH will have his Covid if available, I want one at a time as I felt really ill after the last Covid jab
Otherwise a quiet day with curry tonight

Grandmabatty Sat 05-Oct-24 08:14:20

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 13° and dull. Susan I'm sorry that you've had upsetting news.
Still living quietly here. Dd popped in with dgs2 yesterday for his soup and a quick catch up. She had bought me a candle of apple spice and an autumn doormat. They didn't stay too long as she's making someone a birthday cake. Resting is helping and I had cauliflower cheese for dinner. I didn't fancy anything else.
Today I've woken up with swollen glands again, so I'm obviously fighting off an infection somewhere. I'll have another quiet day. Take care all

NannyJan53 Sat 05-Oct-24 08:14:24

Good morning from a dry, but dull Black Country.

The sun shone yesterday and it was a lovely day. Mum and I went to the Memory cafe, where a duo was singing. We won the raffle again. Pair of tickets to see The Crooners in November. I think Mum will go to this with me as it is her era musically.

Afterwards we met DS for lunch in town, as he was in the office that day. So had a lovely hour with him.

Today I am off to the Theatre to see The Wonder Boy. The tickets were won in the raffle last time at the Memory Cafe. I rarely win raffles, let alone two on the trot! My friend is coming with me, so we shall have lunch beforehand. MrJ didn't like the sound of it, but it has very good reviews.

I sincerely hope gM that you are successful in recovering your money. These people are absolutely despicable.

Wishing you all the best Saturday possible.

Gingster Sat 05-Oct-24 08:17:08

Good morning and we’re hoping for another lovely day here in Essex. Yesterday was a beautiful autumn day.
🌻🍁.

Optician visit was fine. A new prescription ordered but ok news on the glaucoma front. I’m still waiting for an appointment from the hospital. It’s been 13 months since the last one and they said they’d see me in 4 -6 months. I can’t get through to the hospital, of course! 🙄.

We had a lovely catch-up with our usual Friday pals and were joined by a couple of relatives of one of our group. Two ladies from France who are great fun.

Today I’m having a pedicure (first one ever) and then picking up a parcel from M and S. Dd and little DGD will come in after dancing, have lunch and then she’s off to a party.

Dgd1 is back to southampton today. We’ll miss her.

Sorry to hear of your upsetting news Susan. 💐.
Safe journey home Sar. ✈️.
Enjoy the time with your family Brook.

Ive cancelled my Covid jab but will have the flu jab. 💉.

Take care all. 🌻🍁

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 13°C.

Susan, I find walks like yours healing, if I can't do that, pottering in the garden lifts my mood. 💐

Mick, glad you sought advice, hopefully things will improve. I always book a disabled room on holiday, it makes such a difference, especially the extra space and handrails in the bathroom.

Bonny, did you test for Covid? Given your history and the length of time, you have been feeling unwell, it might be worth speaking to your GP for advice.

I was supposed to speak at the Masses this weekend, but my chest is not good, so it won't be happening. A quiet day for me.

Have the best day possible.
