A "like" button would be nice!

Does anyone else think a "like" button would be nice?! I read some great posts and then they sort of get lost in the ether - you can't really quote every post and say how nice it is or how you agree.

Also a smilies button - it's quite tedious typing brackets and words!

A request to admin really! But interested to see if anyone else thinks the same.

While it means some people may just "like" rather than reply, it also means that lots of people who don't reply, can acknowledge that they like a post - ie people who sometimes just read and don't say anything.

I suspect that’s why we won’t get one. Lurkers add nothing to the site, which can be slow at times and is paid for by ads based on traffic. Anything that encourages replies (even if they are just ‘hear hear’ or ‘I agree’) helps to pay the rent, and anything that stops replies and encourages lurking takes us closer to closure.
