Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey and wet, yesterday was a lovely day up until about 4pm when the rain started.
Gorgeous photos Bellas thanks for sharing
I’m off to DD2s this morning, basically the house move is back to square one so we’ll be unpacking all the winter clothes for her and the DGC that had been packed up over the summer and other items now needed. Then after school they’re all coming round here, the DGC want to do some baking for a bake sale at school on Friday
Enjoy your coach trip gingster hope there’s no delays
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning, it isn’t raining here yet…..
Yesterday I didn’t do much, my sister came for coffee which was lovely, but I did knit most of the back of the Aran cardigan while listening to audiobooks. Very lazy day really.
I have my second shingles vaccination this afternoon and I will pop into the village post office shop for a couple of bits.
I had a lovely hour long video chat with DGCs and DS yesterday evening, so lovely catching up with them all. DGS1 is loving senior school, he’s also joined a proper cycling club, cycling mad like his dad! DGS2 is doing rugby, he also loves it - DS sent a photo of him covered in mud 🫣
I hope you all have a good day 🌹

Good morning from a dull and wet Black Country.

A day in yesterday, tidied my wardrobe and now have a pile of clothes for the charity shop. Popped into town for a few bits and bobs.

Looking forward to the Birmingham meet up this morning, I missed the last two I think. Will go on Train then Metro.

Praying that your family in Florida will be safe Bellas

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good Morning from a wet Oxfordshire, I think it’s the 9th Mick, but I’m grateful to you ‘opening up’ so who cares really!

A business lunch today so I must be on my best behaviour, I have already been warned! I’ll sit on my hands, try not to fidget
And keep my mouth firmly closed. (All whilst trying to eat) Maybe……we will see.

Have a good day everyone, hope all the poorlies feel a bit better today.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Essex coast.
Lots of admin to do today plus more holiday clothes washing.
It's hard to get it all dry when the weather is damp.
DGD4 is 9 today, I'll facetime when she gets home from school. I'm going to visit them at the end of the month, can't wait as it's been about 6 months since I last saw them.
I hope all the poorly folk feel better.
Best wishes to all xx

Morning, including Llamas 👋👋, from a bright S Hants, boy did it rain yesterday, thunderbolts and lightning too. We went to lunch with my brother and his wife, a smashing few hours, solid traffic coming home.
Not sure what I’m doing today, I’ll get out for a stretch at least.
Best wishes to those poorly including corner and bellas May you improve soon.
How tedious for your daughter brook , very disruptive.

Good morning from dull and damp South Lanarkshire.

brook how disappointing for your DD after all this time.

I and a friend/neighbour visited another neighbour yesterday. She has been having treatment for cancer for years but has now been told there’s no further treatment available. It was a very cheerful afternoon though as she has a wonderful spirit. The three of us used to belong to a craft group so we took along our crochet and chatted for a couple of hours.
I’m making angels for the Christmas giveaway organised by my yarn group. I’m enjoying it just now but I know I’ll be heartily sick of the sight of them by the end of November.

No plans today so will just see how it goes.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Good morning from a very wet north of Scotland. I gave someone a lift to the station at six o’clock this morning. That is my good deed for the day. The darkness, the headlights and surface water spray made for an unpleasant drive. There seem to be a large percentage of the HGVs pulling an equally large HGV. I find them scary especially when drivers overtake them not seeming to tale into account the double length. Having an early coffee, usually tea in the morning.
Off to do useful things before falling asleep.
Missing Marydoll.
Best wishes to all.

Good morning everyone from a wet Northampton, with more showers expected, so it will be a day indoors for me, which I shan't mind.

I got out yesterday for our health walk, but we got rained on, so cut the walk short and retired to the sports centre early for tea and/or coffee. Walked home and got caught by rain again, but it wasn't too bad as I had a rain coat and umbrella. Luckily no wind and it was very mild. At least I got 10,000 steps in!

Pottering this morning, clean the en-suite, and will spend the afternoon reading, some magazines to catch up on and my book club read. Must also order my medication.

Have a pleasant day everyone.

Good morning everyone from Málaga where the sun is shining, temperatures are forecast to be high 20’s, the parakeets are their usual noisy selves and I can smell the pine trees when I open the front door.

It’s our last full day, home tomorrow afternoon. I shall miss all this but - I’m also looking forward to going back, I’m ready. Missing family a bit now too. I’m anticipating my cuddle from L’il Miss (who was awarded her ‘pen licence’ yesterday apparently which means she’s allowed to do her class work in biro now - she’s delighted to be the same as some of the others) and a kiss from the Boy Wonder who at 12y isn’t yet averse to displays of affection so I make the most of this lad who is growing so tall all at once.

The decorator has been, returned the keys to our neighbour who said it looks so clean (and echoey! the curtains and voiles are away for cleaning). It will be nice to see the room freshened up in chalk white emulsion - the same paint throughout the apartment. I like to keep things simple and uncluttered!

Good morning from a bright Perth. Yesterday’s journey went well and it is lovely to be with DD1 and SIL. An easy day today as we will visit The Stone of Scone in Perth Museum.
Best wishes to all coping with health and other problems

grandMattie

“The Living Mountain”, Maw. Don’t know the author, we had to share it and I read it nearly three weeks ago.

Thank you GrandMattie - I’ve looked it up on Amazon and the whole quartet is available on Kindle for £4.99 so I may give it a try.
Sharing books and passing them round doesn’t sound very good to me (meeting every 6 weeks or so, our group would all have forgotten the book by our meeting date!)
We tend to use World of Books or Abe books for cheap used copies (or charity shops) or sometimes the paperback or Kindle version is cheap enough, Kindle books can often be only 99p.

Grammaretto Wed 09-Oct-24 08:44:02

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It has stopped raining.
Last night was very bad on the roads. Luckily I get a lift to my Gaelic class but only half turned up, including the teacher on her bike.

My American cousin's son has just begun university in Florida so has been evacuated home because of the
impending hurricane.

Good photos Bella . I hope Austwitz isn't overwhelming.

Luluaugust at first I imagined Perth
Australia but surely they don't have the Stone of Destiny 🤣

I hope Marydoll is not too unwell.
Sending her and everyone who is low for whatever reason, my prayers and wishes for health and happiness.

luluaugust Wed 09-Oct-24 08:53:30

😂 Grammaretto, yes we are in the original Perth, I am looking out at the mountains in the far distance, just beautiful and far enough from Kent for us now.

Grandmabatty Wed 09-Oct-24 09:03:49

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and dry. Brook how disappointing for your daughter. Bellasnana what a beautiful view. I hope your family in Florida will be ok. As I hope everyone there escapes the fury of the hurricane. Marydoll I hope you are ok too
I'm just up! I woke in the night and was wide awake so I got up and had a cuppa and a biscuit. I could have chatted to you grannygravy. I did fall back asleep however.
Yesterday started off with bad moods from the boys. It was very wearing. However, things settled down and dgs1 went to school peacefully and dgs2 had a good day. We had a lot of laughs. In the late afternoon I had a meeting with the mental health officer appointed by the court. Thank you Susan for your kind words yesterday. It has been a long drawn out process but we are nearly at court where hopefully I'll be regarded as 'of good character '. 😂
Today I'm definitely doing nothing. I'm almost fully recovered from the virus but a couple of rest days will help. Have a good day all.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Wed 09-Oct-24 09:26:30

Just read all your posts. A great read as always isn’t it? We are such a mixed bunch but I love how we all bring something to add to this friendly thread. Thanks to you Mick we have an interesting catch up with our mugs of hot tea or coffee.

I hope you feel better soon. It must be a concern to you when it impacts on your hoped for activities.

Wonderful photo Bellasnana you both look as gorgeous as the scenery. Thanks for sharing.

I hope Marydoll is feeling up to posting today and that we see Whitewave again soon. Thinking too of Blosoming who never complains but is finding life tough at present. 👋

GrannySomerset Wed 09-Oct-24 09:47:38

I share the hope that Marydoll is at least on the mend and that we have news soon. After four days of feeling awful my admiration for anyone coping with permanent ill health is total. I attended a family funeral on line yesterday as I didn’t feel well enough to go and was glad to be there in spirit if not in person. Another non-day beckons but now the temperature seems to have dropped I think survival is probable.

aggie Wed 09-Oct-24 09:50:41

Good morning from a damp Co Armagh, it has stopped raining , but for how long ?
I was thinking of hanging the washing out before I head over to the club
Thinking of all poorly or in pain , especially those not up to posting just now , prayers for all 💐

Taichinan Wed 09-Oct-24 10:25:33

Good morning all from the Angus coast where it's dry at the moment but very windy - said wind coming straight out of the north 🥶.
Sorry you had a bad night Mick - stay dry and cosy at home today.
Lovely photo Bellasnana - how young you both look!
I am very late to the feast this morning having slept for 9 hours last night (a delightful increase on the four of less I've been having lately) and then read through all your posts while trying to wake up! I can definitely feel a lazy day coming on. Yesterday at tai chi I was so tired I didn't do either of the sets with the class but saved my energy for the 15/20 minutes of teaching - probably very lack lustre though! I must search for my oomph today - I know it's around somewhere 😉
So as usual nothing to report. DGD1 is going for a job interview tomorrow - hotel receptionist. She has a lovely way about her and a beautiful smile ...... 🤞. After gaining a good degree (2:1) in Dance she is ready to spread her wings and fly - just not in the direction we all thought! Hard times for job-hunting though.
Thinking of Marydoll flowers and all ill at the moment. Get better soon.
Luluaugust enjoy your time in the 'original' Perth, home of the Fair Maid. Have you visited The Hermitage yet - it will be stunning in its Autumn glory just now.
Have a good day everyone x

grandMattie Wed 09-Oct-24 10:49:35

At one stage of my life, luluaugust, the furthest north I had visited was Perth in Scotland, and the furthest south was Perth, WA! 😂

GrandmaC47 Wed 09-Oct-24 11:00:47

Luluaugust, I was in Perth last Friday and saw the Stone of Destiny. A wonderful experience.
Hoping that Marydoll is able to post soon. Thinking of those with illnesses or worries see improvement soon.

luluaugust Wed 09-Oct-24 12:01:30

Thank you I will be asking for a trip to The Hermitage
