Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark with signs of a wet night here in brackley.
Today I will hopefully get the bus to Bicester and plan to meet others I know.
On the health front , will stick to the plan suggested by the nursing team at the JR.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning everyone. We will be homeward bound later, off to the airport at lunchtime. Home by teatime (because of the hour back).

We had black storm clouds over the mountains yesterday evening. I even wore my denim jacket for the first time since arriving when we went down to eat. Here it came to nothing but I’ve just read this in the ‘Sur’:

“ The strong gusts of wind associated with storm Kirk in the north of Spain today have forced 41 flights to be cancelled, while 23 journeys have been diverted, as aircraft have been unable to land at their intended destination.”

It was northern Spain (Madrid, Santander) apparently.

The sun is shining here again!

Good morning Mick and all. It's a showery sunny start to the day on the Angus coast BUT I've just looked at my BBC weather app and see we're forecast hurricane force winds from the north-east! Never seen that before - but it's certainly breezy.
Mick I'm so glad you're taking the advice from the JR team - I'm sure you'll feel better for it.
I haven't read any posts yet (except Mick's) as I'm in a rush this morning as I've a few things to get done before tai chi. One of those things is hanging out the washing in the hurricane force wind - so wish me luck with that!
I hope you all have the best of days and the weather is kind to you wherever you are. Marydoll flowers

Happy Anniversary, Kitty and Mr L!💐🥂
Hollysteers hope it goes well💐

Good morning from Durham. Wait a minute …. It’s stopped raining! The wind forecast here is from the Arctic - lovely, not. I hope to get DD2’s laundry dry outside, it’s only breezy here as yet.

Coffee this morning with a friend, then I need to take DD2’s LittleDog out for a walk - I’ll try to find somewhere less soggy.
I hope any medical procedures go ahead successfully today and fingers crossed, we hear from MaryD
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from sunny Suffolk with no wind in spite of the BBC app stating winds all day of 1169!

I had a meeting in Ipswich yesterday and decided to travel by train rather than car. I had to be at the station for the 7.58 train. It is ages since I’ve been out so early and had forgotten how busy everywhere was with people travelling to work and schools.

I’m going to my stretch class soon after having missed 2 because of our holiday and my cold. I suspect I’ll feel the effects tomorrow if not today.

Hope today is a good one for all.

loopyloo Thu 10-Oct-24 08:01:39

Yes my bbc weather app says 13505 and hurricane winds. Surely this is an error?

harrigran Thu 10-Oct-24 07:55:41

Good morning from a wet and fairly quiet NE. My weather app suggests wind speeds of 13943, goodness me I am going to be blown to Kingdom come 😲
I have a sore throat and runny nose, that will be GD1's cold she had on Saturday when she visited from University. A duvet day beckons.
Stay dry and safe.

Good morning from cloudy South Lanarkshire.

Photo from yesterday’s very pleasant walk in the woods, daft dug was in heaven.

Happy anniversary Kitty.

I must do some light housework today and possibly even a spit of ironing before I go out dog walking.

Yarn group this evening.

Wishing everyone a good day.

ginny Thu 10-Oct-24 07:52:14

Good morning. As Mawsays rain but very little wind here in N. Bucks at the moment.
Had to take my new varifocal glasses back yesterday. The reading part needs to be changed .
I tried on 5 pairs of jeans yesterday all supposed to be the same size and design. 2 pairs were too small, one fitted perfectly and 4 were too big ! So frustrating.
This afternoons sewing club has been cancelled due to a couple of members having Covid and several others having been in contact. Plenty of things craft type things for me to do at home with no interruption as DH is away to a charity golf day.
Thinking of all who are poorly or troubled and hope MD will be able to post today.

karmalady Thu 10-Oct-24 07:50:57

Good morning from s somerset, mostly dry and a bit of sun today

As always, I was busy the whole day yesterday but made a bara brith and a topless carrot - traybake, both in small pieces in the freezer now. Walk done and some cleaning/tidying and best of all, a few rows of knitting. There are a lot of stitches as I am knitting a jumper in the round. Clickety clack is such a soothing hypnotic sound as is the knitting action.

I have one more boxed (from 2023) ufo to sew but it can go back on hold until april as it is a thin top, albeit with long sleeves. I will slowly get on with the latest item, a cosy full-cover, easy -waist, fine-cord pinafore dress in bottle green. I also need to cover -stitch hems onto my stretch layering tops. They will be done and in a drawer by lunchtime. I don`t intend to have prepped items in boxes for winter sewing this year

GrannyIvy, I do hope for a good outcome for your very precious eyes

Oops it has been a long and difficult journey for you, wishing you lots of future happiness flowers

Have a good day

Grandmabatty Thu 10-Oct-24 07:49:36

hollysteers all the best to you

Grammaretto Thu 10-Oct-24 07:49:36

Happy anniversary Kitty 🎉
You sound a very happy and busy couple.

Bellasnana Thu 10-Oct-24 07:49:25

Good morning from Krakow where the sun is shining for now.

Thanks again for your kind words yesterday. We had a rather wet day walking round in circles as neither of us has much sense of direction!

I’ve been awake since 3am worrying about DD2 in Florida, she says there is a lot of damage in their area but nothing like the Tampa area.

DD3 called to say the boys are both poorly again. They have got hand, foot and mouth poor little souls. DD2 has had to take a day off work so I am upset I’m not there to help out.

Today is eight years since my sister died, she was my rock and I miss her more than ever. Not really the day to be visiting Auschwitz but I will try to keep my chin up. My friend is a very no-nonsense, unsympathetic person (despite being a nurse) so I get a telling off if I show any sign of emotion.

Only one more sleep and back to my beloved island in the sun!

Wishing a good day to all.☀️

Grandmabatty Thu 10-Oct-24 07:49:01

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2° and dry. No hurricane here. Apparently it's a data problem on the app. Kittylester a very happy anniversary to you both. Ladyleftfieldlover enjoy your holiday.
Yesterday I was deliberately lazy and rested. I had a quick trip to Tesco to buy champagne for my neighbours who are getting married today. They are a nice couple with two pleasant children. But apart from that, I did little. I couldn't even hoover because the battery had gone flat.
Today I'll give the living room window a clean. I noticed grubby finger marks on it yesterday. I'll potter inside and see if there's anything I need to do in the garden. Have a good day all

Good morning from the northwest as I await to go to theatre for my hernia op.
DD came yesterday from the south and brought me in. We enjoyed a nice casserole last night before watching Love Rats and an early night. Just water so no cup of tea this morning…
After the op I’m on puréed food, ugh.

Keep well Mick, happy anniversary kittylester and happy cruising LLFL🌺

Grammaretto Thu 10-Oct-24 07:45:01

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. 2°C here with a max of a balmy 8° expected. No wind.
Yesterday was very windy and cold.
Yoga this morning and ceilidh dancing tonight. That will keep me warm.
I shall pack for my weekend away.
My house guests are frustrated by the time their flood repairs are taking.
Have a great cruise Llfl
I hope those who've had jags and procedures feel better.
I hope we hear from Marydoll soon.
Have a good day everyone.

Bonnybanko Thu 10-Oct-24 07:44:53

Good morning all from a fairly dark but dry day here on the east coast of Fife,

I made delicious lentil soup yesterday with a ham hough and believe it or not spent ages wrapping my Christmas presents. There won’t be any mad dashing about at the last minute in this house.

I’m having my hair done today and I’ve a new gardener coming to give my lawn it’s last cut of the year

Enjoy your day my friends as best you can

Gingster Thu 10-Oct-24 07:39:56

Good morning all and it’s dreary and drizzly here in Essex.

Happy anniversary Kitty 🥂🍾💐.
Happy holiday LLF. ⛴️ .

We had a lovely day yesterday on our coach trip to Bury St Edmunds. Travel was perfect both ways and what a love town Bury is.

The cathedral and gardens are immense and beautiful.
Had a tasty lunch and bought a Christmas cards and a couple of presents.

Today we are travelling up to our Suffolk hide away. Can’t wait to be there. The weather forecast looks ok for the weekend when our boys will come up for their ‘working weekend’. Lots of jobs for them (and us).

Healing thoughts to those who are under the weather, one way or another, 💐.

Take care and prayers for Florida .🙏

Redcar Thu 10-Oct-24 07:35:29

Good morning everyone from a cool, grey and breezy Essex.
Yesterday I managed to arrange a visit from a pest control company who will investigate whether I have a wasps nest in the loft or in the bathroom fan. Also arranged for someone to clear the gutters. Exciting stuff, but necessary.
Covid jab this morning. I must try to motivate myself to get a bit fitter, so will go for a walk after breakfast!
llfl enjoy your cruise.
I hope Thursday is kind to us all, with no hurricanes for us, despite the weather app forecasts!
