Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark with signs of a wet night here in brackley.
Today I will hopefully get the bus to Bicester and plan to meet others I know.
On the health front , will stick to the plan suggested by the nursing team at the JR.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from Bristol. It doesn’t appear to have rained, though I got caught in a (unexpected) heavy shower yesterday afternoon.
Maw, the book group were divided over our book. Some didn’t like it/were indifferent; others loved it. One member who is blind said that she loved the atmospheric sounds - streams, waterfalls, birdsong, wind, etc. I imagine that being read aloud with the sounds would improve it no end for me.
The hairdresser did a good job with my hair, the other two were also happy with their cut.
Today, I have indoor tai chi, after which I have been asked to bake for Saturday. We have a visit from a local Green MP for a chat (and inquisition?) in our church and hope to have more than the usual high teen attendance.
I hope Marydoll isn’t too poorly. Loving hugs winging their way to her. Ditto for the poorly/unhappy.

Good morning from a wet Oxfordshire.

We had a lovely lunch at a nearby pub, it is a large building and it was absolutely packed, good job we booked, the manager said how unusual it was for a Wednesday, we took the last parking space.

We collect the keys to the house today, so excited! Let’s hope everything works.

Hope those who are poorly or stressed start to feel better.

grandMattie Thu 10-Oct-24 06:45:27

My BBC weather alphas forecast winds of525 mph from NE for today! 🤔 Hmmm

grandMattie Thu 10-Oct-24 06:45:54

Weather app. 525 mph. Not an error!

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 10-Oct-24 06:53:42

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Younger son arrived last night for a few days. He will be working from home but is here mainly for his oldest friend’s 40th at the weekend. He will be going to Bristol for that.

OH and I have a taxi arriving at 11 am which will take us to Oxford to catch the airport bus. Our holiday to France and a cruise on the Rhone begins!

Have a good day everyone. I’m thinking of MaryD. Shouldn’t FGT2 be home by now?

Mizuna Thu 10-Oct-24 07:00:17

My BBC weather app says 911mph hurricane force winds here, in Cornwall, right now gM! But there's no wind blowing. Today I'm going to make pittas and then sew. Lush.

RosesandLilac Thu 10-Oct-24 07:06:41

Good morning from a damp hillside in south Glos, ‘tis dry at the moment.
The BBC weather page is forecasting ‘Hurricane winds’ today 😵‍💫, let’s hope it’s wrong or I might find myself living in the valley very soon!
Yesterday was a wonderfully peaceful day, a dog walk in sunshine, a morning spent doing embroidery, friends for lunch and an afternoon enjoying their company.
I had my second shingles vaccination late afternoon, a rather sore arm this morning but better than the illness.
Today I have nothing in particular planned, a dog walk to start with.
Have a lovely day 🌹

Greyduster Thu 10-Oct-24 07:09:16

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s not quite light here in South Yorkshire but the forecast is for a bright day. It was very wet yesterday and I did very little but sort out some paperwork and read but did manage to get a short walk in the afternoon. If it’s not too windy (in which case it will be called off) I will go out with the walking group this morning and then have lunch with DD. Covid jab this afternoon.
Have the best day you can folks.

GrandmaC47 Thu 10-Oct-24 07:12:55

My goodness! My BBC weather app shows wind speed of 16159 in Kinross and 15445 in Preston but only 15 here in Co Durham.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 10-Oct-24 07:14:36

Morning all,

Cleaning fairies here first thing (8.30) I have some paperwork to do.

I am picking up DS4’s children from school today and taking them to gymnastics. They have snacks in the car to keep them going 🤣

DH will pick up the 9yr old who is on a school trip to the theatre to see Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. He is sleeping over.

I am thinking of the people in Florida at the moment.

🙋‍♀️

RosiesMaw2 Thu 10-Oct-24 07:20:51

Good morning from N Bucks where it is raining but according to the BBC Weather App there are “hurricane force” winds here too. And zero% chance of rain confused
I hope you are right GrandMattie and that somebody has just pressed the wrong button somewhere.I find both “predictions” hard to believe - but then Michael Fish said there was going to be no hurricane, didn’t he?
Hopefully I’ll be at my monthly Arts Society meeting this morning. Whether I get to the Modernist Architecture class this afternoon or do it on Zoom may depend on the weather.
Is it too early to hibernate?
Kind thoughts to all with health problems or worries - keep safe everybody.

kittylester Thu 10-Oct-24 07:23:08

Good morning all from a brightening North Leicestershire.

It is our 54th wedding today. Who's have thought it!! DH is doing a volunteer drive today and I have part 4 of our Carer's course so we are going to the theatre and a meal next week. We also have a Sainsbury's delivery - oh the romance.

Have the best day possible everyone.

GrannyIvy Thu 10-Oct-24 07:30:06

Good morning from a grey calm Cambridgeshire but my weather app indicates hurricane winds today too!!
I had an ectropion procedure on both of my eyes yesterday which will hopefully help the excessive watering. They are sore and swollen this morning but keeping everything crossed for a successful outcome. A restful day therefore planned for me and DH may be rather busier than usual😂

Wishing you all a happy healthy day and look fwd to reading all your posts later as my eyes adjust as the day goes on.

Good morning everyone from a cool, grey and breezy Essex.
Yesterday I managed to arrange a visit from a pest control company who will investigate whether I have a wasps nest in the loft or in the bathroom fan. Also arranged for someone to clear the gutters. Exciting stuff, but necessary.
Covid jab this morning. I must try to motivate myself to get a bit fitter, so will go for a walk after breakfast!
llfl enjoy your cruise.
I hope Thursday is kind to us all, with no hurricanes for us, despite the weather app forecasts!

Gingster Thu 10-Oct-24 07:39:56

Good morning all and it’s dreary and drizzly here in Essex.

Happy anniversary Kitty 🥂🍾💐.
Happy holiday LLF. ⛴️ .

We had a lovely day yesterday on our coach trip to Bury St Edmunds. Travel was perfect both ways and what a love town Bury is.

The cathedral and gardens are immense and beautiful.
Had a tasty lunch and bought a Christmas cards and a couple of presents.

Today we are travelling up to our Suffolk hide away. Can’t wait to be there. The weather forecast looks ok for the weekend when our boys will come up for their ‘working weekend’. Lots of jobs for them (and us).

Healing thoughts to those who are under the weather, one way or another, 💐.

Take care and prayers for Florida .🙏

Bonnybanko Thu 10-Oct-24 07:44:53

Good morning all from a fairly dark but dry day here on the east coast of Fife,

I made delicious lentil soup yesterday with a ham hough and believe it or not spent ages wrapping my Christmas presents. There won’t be any mad dashing about at the last minute in this house.

I’m having my hair done today and I’ve a new gardener coming to give my lawn it’s last cut of the year

Enjoy your day my friends as best you can

Grammaretto Thu 10-Oct-24 07:45:01

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. 2°C here with a max of a balmy 8° expected. No wind.
Yesterday was very windy and cold.
Yoga this morning and ceilidh dancing tonight. That will keep me warm.
I shall pack for my weekend away.
My house guests are frustrated by the time their flood repairs are taking.
Have a great cruise Llfl
I hope those who've had jags and procedures feel better.
I hope we hear from Marydoll soon.
Have a good day everyone.

hollysteers Thu 10-Oct-24 07:45:03

Good morning from the northwest as I await to go to theatre for my hernia op.
DD came yesterday from the south and brought me in. We enjoyed a nice casserole last night before watching Love Rats and an early night. Just water so no cup of tea this morning…
After the op I’m on puréed food, ugh.

Keep well Mick, happy anniversary kittylester and happy cruising LLFL🌺

Grammaretto Thu 10-Oct-24 07:45:54

Hollysteers flowers

Grandmabatty Thu 10-Oct-24 07:49:01

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2° and dry. No hurricane here. Apparently it's a data problem on the app. Kittylester a very happy anniversary to you both. Ladyleftfieldlover enjoy your holiday.
Yesterday I was deliberately lazy and rested. I had a quick trip to Tesco to buy champagne for my neighbours who are getting married today. They are a nice couple with two pleasant children. But apart from that, I did little. I couldn't even hoover because the battery had gone flat.
Today I'll give the living room window a clean. I noticed grubby finger marks on it yesterday. I'll potter inside and see if there's anything I need to do in the garden. Have a good day all

Bellasnana Thu 10-Oct-24 07:49:25

Good morning from Krakow where the sun is shining for now.

Thanks again for your kind words yesterday. We had a rather wet day walking round in circles as neither of us has much sense of direction!

I’ve been awake since 3am worrying about DD2 in Florida, she says there is a lot of damage in their area but nothing like the Tampa area.

DD3 called to say the boys are both poorly again. They have got hand, foot and mouth poor little souls. DD2 has had to take a day off work so I am upset I’m not there to help out.

Today is eight years since my sister died, she was my rock and I miss her more than ever. Not really the day to be visiting Auschwitz but I will try to keep my chin up. My friend is a very no-nonsense, unsympathetic person (despite being a nurse) so I get a telling off if I show any sign of emotion.

Only one more sleep and back to my beloved island in the sun!

Wishing a good day to all.☀️

Grammaretto Thu 10-Oct-24 07:49:36

Happy anniversary Kitty 🎉
You sound a very happy and busy couple.

Grandmabatty Thu 10-Oct-24 07:49:36

hollysteers all the best to you

karmalady Thu 10-Oct-24 07:50:57

Good morning from s somerset, mostly dry and a bit of sun today

As always, I was busy the whole day yesterday but made a bara brith and a topless carrot - traybake, both in small pieces in the freezer now. Walk done and some cleaning/tidying and best of all, a few rows of knitting. There are a lot of stitches as I am knitting a jumper in the round. Clickety clack is such a soothing hypnotic sound as is the knitting action.

I have one more boxed (from 2023) ufo to sew but it can go back on hold until april as it is a thin top, albeit with long sleeves. I will slowly get on with the latest item, a cosy full-cover, easy -waist, fine-cord pinafore dress in bottle green. I also need to cover -stitch hems onto my stretch layering tops. They will be done and in a drawer by lunchtime. I don`t intend to have prepped items in boxes for winter sewing this year

GrannyIvy, I do hope for a good outcome for your very precious eyes

Oops it has been a long and difficult journey for you, wishing you lots of future happiness flowers

Have a good day
