Good morning from a grey calm Cambridgeshire but my weather app indicates hurricane winds today too!!
I had an ectropion procedure on both of my eyes yesterday which will hopefully help the excessive watering. They are sore and swollen this morning but keeping everything crossed for a successful outcome. A restful day therefore planned for me and DH may be rather busier than usual😂

Wishing you all a happy healthy day and look fwd to reading all your posts later as my eyes adjust as the day goes on.

Good morning all from a brightening North Leicestershire.

It is our 54th wedding today. Who's have thought it!! DH is doing a volunteer drive today and I have part 4 of our Carer's course so we are going to the theatre and a meal next week. We also have a Sainsbury's delivery - oh the romance.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from N Bucks where it is raining but according to the BBC Weather App there are “hurricane force” winds here too. And zero% chance of rain confused
I hope you are right GrandMattie and that somebody has just pressed the wrong button somewhere.I find both “predictions” hard to believe - but then Michael Fish said there was going to be no hurricane, didn’t he?
Hopefully I’ll be at my monthly Arts Society meeting this morning. Whether I get to the Modernist Architecture class this afternoon or do it on Zoom may depend on the weather.
Is it too early to hibernate?
Kind thoughts to all with health problems or worries - keep safe everybody.

Morning all,

Cleaning fairies here first thing (8.30) I have some paperwork to do.

I am picking up DS4’s children from school today and taking them to gymnastics. They have snacks in the car to keep them going 🤣

DH will pick up the 9yr old who is on a school trip to the theatre to see Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. He is sleeping over.

I am thinking of the people in Florida at the moment.

My goodness! My BBC weather app shows wind speed of 16159 in Kinross and 15445 in Preston but only 15 here in Co Durham.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s not quite light here in South Yorkshire but the forecast is for a bright day. It was very wet yesterday and I did very little but sort out some paperwork and read but did manage to get a short walk in the afternoon. If it’s not too windy (in which case it will be called off) I will go out with the walking group this morning and then have lunch with DD. Covid jab this afternoon.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from a damp hillside in south Glos, ‘tis dry at the moment.
The BBC weather page is forecasting ‘Hurricane winds’ today 😵‍💫, let’s hope it’s wrong or I might find myself living in the valley very soon!
Yesterday was a wonderfully peaceful day, a dog walk in sunshine, a morning spent doing embroidery, friends for lunch and an afternoon enjoying their company.
I had my second shingles vaccination late afternoon, a rather sore arm this morning but better than the illness.
Today I have nothing in particular planned, a dog walk to start with.
Have a lovely day 🌹

My BBC weather app says 911mph hurricane force winds here, in Cornwall, right now gM! But there's no wind blowing. Today I'm going to make pittas and then sew. Lush.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Younger son arrived last night for a few days. He will be working from home but is here mainly for his oldest friend’s 40th at the weekend. He will be going to Bristol for that.

OH and I have a taxi arriving at 11 am which will take us to Oxford to catch the airport bus. Our holiday to France and a cruise on the Rhone begins!

Have a good day everyone. I’m thinking of MaryD. Shouldn’t FGT2 be home by now?

grandMattie Thu 10-Oct-24 06:45:54

Weather app. 525 mph. Not an error!

grandMattie Thu 10-Oct-24 06:45:27

Good morning from a wet Oxfordshire.

We had a lovely lunch at a nearby pub, it is a large building and it was absolutely packed, good job we booked, the manager said how unusual it was for a Wednesday, we took the last parking space.

We collect the keys to the house today, so excited! Let’s hope everything works.

Hope those who are poorly or stressed start to feel better.

Good morning from Bristol. It doesn’t appear to have rained, though I got caught in a (unexpected) heavy shower yesterday afternoon.
Maw, the book group were divided over our book. Some didn’t like it/were indifferent; others loved it. One member who is blind said that she loved the atmospheric sounds - streams, waterfalls, birdsong, wind, etc. I imagine that being read aloud with the sounds would improve it no end for me.
The hairdresser did a good job with my hair, the other two were also happy with their cut.
Today, I have indoor tai chi, after which I have been asked to bake for Saturday. We have a visit from a local Green MP for a chat (and inquisition?) in our church and hope to have more than the usual high teen attendance.
I hope Marydoll isn’t too poorly. Loving hugs winging their way to her. Ditto for the poorly/unhappy.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark with signs of a wet night here in brackley.
Today I will hopefully get the bus to Bicester and plan to meet others I know.
On the health front , will stick to the plan suggested by the nursing team at the JR.
