Hello everyone!

It's 10.5C here in little Appleby which has shot up from the 8.9 it was when I clocked in for work at 6 this morning!

I'm on a break and have just bought a birthday card for our neighbour, Marion who will be the grand 100 on the 11th October!

Her hubby died yonks ago and she continues to live alone and do her own washing and shopping! She's up the road multiple times a day because while her mind is still sharp she's also forgetful and will go into the local chemist for her medicine, put them down at home somewhere then the next day she's back in the chemist asking for her medicine as she forgot that she had it the previous day!

She's absolutely gorgeous with a brilliant sense of humour!

So sorry, MD, hope things improve very soon. Waiting for the man to clear the gutters is the main focus of the day, another job which now needs an expert rather than doing it ourselves but one not to neglect as we have so many local trees and a roof which seems to be a breeding ground for moss.

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, but forecast dry with sunny spells today. BBC weather app telling me winds of 14,400 mph......

DD-out-law has just been with numerous bags of the DGDs' stuff as they will be here after school today until Sunday. Mum and dad (DS) are off to Manchester for a long weekend, a delayed anniversary celebration, staying in the Midland hotel, no less. Bedrooms are all ready for the girls and my Sainsbury's delivery arrives this morning, so will be well stocked with food. A Bolognese is on the menu for today, which I shall prepare in the slow cooker later.

A day in yesterday, doing various little jobs around the house and some household admin on the laptop. Read more of my book club book (Showstopper by Peter Lovesey) in the afternoon; I'm now halfway through it.

Worrying that there's been no word from Mdoll; hope all is ok.

A busy day today . A charity coffee morning which I was helping at yesterday raised a magnificent £2000!
Some bits and pieces of bric a brac left over to be taken to the charity shop this morning.
I am off to the Guild this afternoon and line dancing tonight so all go go go! My tongue will be getting lots of exercise!

I made delicious lentil soup yesterday with a ham hough and believe it or not spent ages wrapping my Christmas presents. There won’t be any mad dashing about at the last minute in this house.

I’m having my hair done today and I’ve a new gardener coming to give my lawn it’s last cut of the year

Enjoyable morning yesterday at the Birmingham meet up. As Monk says, good to put faces to names and to meet familiar faces too, and great to meet you Monk.

Over to Mums today, as she is having her first Meals on Wheels delivery and I want to be there. It is a free trial meal. Fingers crossed she likes it. Will take her down to the Charity shop afterwards, as I have a bag of clothes to donate.

Good morning from a sunny Perth. We enjoyed our visit to Perth Museum yesterday, the presentation of The Stone of Destiny is very well done. Today we are off to The House of Bruar, I keep viewing the cord trousers in the catalogue and now I can view them for real!!
