Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but remains dry here at the moment in brackley.
Today , a relaxing day with some catch as to cycling on TV, general housework also .
Health wise , seem to benefit from taking loperamide capsules daily .
Take Care,
Mick

Hollysteers You and me both; I didn’t think surgery would take it out of me so much and as I’m usually very active, being stuck at home has made me feel quite low.
But this too shall pass. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Good morning, it’s dry, chilly and grey skies here in south Glos.
I spent most of yesterday in bed after walking the dog, subsequently I had a restless night. I feel blah this morning 🙄
I’m really not sure what’s going on, it can’t be Covid (I haven’t been anywhere, the surgery was empty when I had my shingles jab), I haven’t seen anyone much for a week except my sister and friend, both of whom are well.
Anyway, let’s see how today goes!
Thinking of all of you who are poorly or having buggerations in your lives 🤗💐

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk. Sorry to read about worries about ill family members as well as posters themselves. Hope all have the best day possible.

We are off to DS’s for lunch. We haven’t seen them since we returned from holiday so we are looking forward to catching up.

We are really enjoying seeing our teenage DGC grow up and manoeuvre their way into adulthood. DGS1,15 yesterday sent us a message yesterday thanking us for his birthday money. He said he would use it ‘wisely’! He had obviously thought about what he thought we would want to hear!

We told him to treat himself. About to make some porridge and then take the little dog for a walk along what are likely to be muddy footpaths after a short lived but torrential rain storm yesterday afternoon.

Good morning from a sunny Perth. Fun day yesterday with three large grandsons and one girlfriend, she comes from Newcastle. So four Scotsmen and four from down South, quite a get together. I managed to have a winning run at Poker so retired as soon as I could!
Pantglas sorry about your dad, I have done this a couple of times and it was put down to a sudden drop in blood pressure, which of course rights itself hence nothing to find.
Best wishes to all

Thank you monk08

Good morning from N. Bucks where it is currently quite bright and dry.
DH is off for the day with DD 1. They are going to a bird ( hawks, eagles) experience.
DD 3 will be dropping DGSs 2 & 3 here for the afternoon and we will be busy crafting for Halloween and planting some bulbs.
DDs 2 & 3 will then join us for dinner.

Thought with those who are dealing with illness and other problems. He best day possible wished for all.

Morning from South Lanarkshire; not so beautiful in my bit baubles. Too much at the same time can feel overwhelming, take care🙏🏻💐

Glad you’re being looked after hollysteers, it’s a good feeling.

Family for lunch today ( I discovered about an hour before they were due to arrive last week that I’d got the date wrong)
Don’t ask! I hope most of it has survived a week in the freezer.

Best wishes to all for as good a day as possible, thoughts with everyone who need support.

Good morning from Durham, where, weather wise, we aren’t getting into double digits today!
Wise words from MaryD to Mick yesterday - take heed?
Off to babysit DGS2 today - usually a very chatty 3yr old, but he’s been unwell for a couple of days now and quite quiet.
Lots of post-op recovery here today - patience needed for what’s often a long slow process.
Hope the travellers get to their chosen destinations safely.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is up in South Yorkshire and it’s going to be a cold day. I am late this morning. Woke up at four and then back to sleep until quarter to eight! I had terrible sneezing fits most of the day yesterday that left me feeling quite dazed for a while, but I did manage to get into the garden and do a lot of clearing and weeding. Today I have promised to pick DD up and go and watch GS play football on their home ground after which we will all go for a meal somewhere. It will mean driving home in the dark, but the roads will be dry I hope.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry. The sun is trying to shine and Alexa tells me it’s 3°C rising to 10°C later.

Our Yorkshire Lass and her husband are driving over the Pennines to see us today. It will be good to see them. L’il Miss is already excited. 😁

Later we will pick my stepfather up and lunch has been booked in my favourite local pub. It will be good to see him too. We’ve not been home much all summer and I’ve missed spending time with everybody.

Wishing you all the best for a pleasant Sunday yourselves. x

Good morning everyone from a dry, cloudy Northampton. Supposed to be a fine day; I may do some washing, as the next week is forecast wet every day.

Got DGD1 off to her dance school yesterday morning, then DGD2 and I set off to the surgery for my Covid and flu jabs, one in each arm! We then walked to M&S Food, where we had a light lunch and I got my top-up shop done. A quiet afternoon and evening at home - we chatted about when I used to do half the week childcare for the girls until they went to school - DGD2 had no recollection of it at all! I had them from when she was 10 months and big sister was 3. They are now nearly 17 and 14.

Didn't quite know which arm to sleep on last night as both arms were sore from my jabs! But I did manage to get a good night's sleep.

A late breakfast this morning then read the papers. DS and DD-out-law are due back some time this afternoon. Sounds as though they have had a good time in Manchester - which was DH's old stamping ground.

Hope those feeling poorly or troubled find some comfort during the day.

Oopsadaisy1 Sun 13-Oct-24 08:56:23

Good morning from an overcast, dry Oxfordshire.

The dog will be here soon for her sleep over, apart from that an easy day.

We had our Covid boosters yesterday so our arms are a bit sore, but so far no other side effects, MrOops was quite unwell after his flu jab last week.

Welcome LaCrepescule

GM 💐

Hope those recovering from ops will soon be up and about, in the meantime rest is part of the cure.

Hugs for those who are unwell, stressed or sad.

Late good morning from a bright NE.
DS spent the afternoon with me until it was time to collect the rest of the family from the theatre. They popped into the supermarket and brought me some cough medicine.
DIL also brought me a beautiful bouquet of roses, I asked what I had done to deserve them and was embarrassed when reminded it would have been my wedding anniversary tomorrow, 57 years.

Pleased you enjoyed the concert grandMattie, GD2 plays Einaudi all the time and is very proficient. We were hoping she would be able to attend one of his concerts in London next June.
Quiet day for me in the hope I can get over this cough.
Have the best day you can.

Morning all from Arles. We’ve just got back to the ship after a walking tour. Goldilocks weather! Not too hot and not too cold.

After lunch (the food is sooo good) we’re off to Pont du Gard.

hollysteers Sun 13-Oct-24 11:07:09

LaCrepescule we are both wounded soldiers! Hope you soon improve.
It’s difficult when life comes to a complete standstill and I have never been the most patient of people…
Wishing you all the best💐

Good Morning from a chilly Co Armagh,
Back from Mass and having my daily coffee. Candles were lit and I hope hope hope that a better day is had by all

Redcar Sun 13-Oct-24 12:11:51

llfl good that the weather has improved for you. I love the Pont du Gard, first went aged 15 with my French pen friend and her family. I’m sure we walked along the top! I’ve been several times since, and the weather has always been lovely.

GrannySomerset Sun 13-Oct-24 12:51:29

LLFL enjoy the Pont du Gard. I remember walking along the top (no railings) with adventurous DS in the days when such a thing was possible. Still regard it as one of great Roman monuments.
