A friend (two or three years older than me) started really early in her late 40’s with ‘tweaks’ that progressed as the years went by. Holding back the years and looking young and wrinkle free was the focus of her life. I lost touch with her but pretty sure she had serious facelifts as the years went by. She continued to look incredibly young and extremely ‘well cared for’ that nobody could believe her age when she died in her mid 80’s. Guess all the treatments in the world can’t stop the grim reaper knocking at your door!

I just use a large bulldog clip at the back of my head. Lifts and tightens instantly!

I have often thought this could be the solution - plus two more on my shoulders to hold everything else up 😂😂😂

Thanks for this - and for the honesty of the Gransnetters admitted to tweakments and surgical procedures. I’ve inherited good skin etc but at 70 can’t help wondering if it’s too late to start with some Botox/fillers. Does anyone remember seeing Miriam Margoyles get some fillers injected on a program about aging around the world? She was amazed by the results (I thought she was very brave to try it!)

No juts a semi regular facelifts when I can bear to spend the money on what is just creaming and rubbing in.

Surgeons and nurses doing them could be far better employed, to help those who really need it. Same with anesthesists, etc, and operating theaters, etc.

No but I sometimes think if I had spare cash that I didn't want to use for anything else I wouldn't mind having a bit of a lift. I don't have any wrinkles apart from elevenses between the eyes but my skin has sagged quite a bit.

I'm not really interested in looking younger but as someone else said 'just a slightly better version of myself' that doesn't look miserable because I'm not smiling.

I had really heavy lidded eyes so had them lifted in a private clinic some years ago; it has made a huge difference.

Why not have a consultation but do your homework first to ensure you are going to someone you can trust? Fillers and botox aren't permanent and as I said in my previous post, my friend does look great. she's in her early 70's now and no one would look at her and think she's had anything done, she just looks really rested. tbh I'm just a little jealous!

I had a face lift 10 years ago and a lower face lift last year. I’m 72 now. I wasn’t terribly wrinkly but saggy. Can’t say it was the most pleasant of experiences but I don’t regret it one bit - one of the best things I ever did. Had a fantastic surgeon who cares about his patients and follow up was incredible. Basically it changed my life. Call me shallow but looking good makes me feel good - I take better care of myself - work out, eat the right foods etc etc. Guess we’re all different.

I would need a fork lift truck, to lift my face.

The only thing I have had done about 13 years ago, is my teeth lightened from yellowish to a non flashy white. I’m pleased with the results.

I had a facelift at the age of 47. I now wish I'd waited 10years! No regrets though. The surgeon said "You'll look just like yourself but a lot tidier" and so it proved. I told very few people but many commented ( a couple of months after, when it had all settled) that I was looking very well. That's how it should be - not all facelifts leave you looking like that poor woman in LA who ended up resembling a Siamese cat. (Wildenstein?)

I once saw a woman on TV who had some sort of thin elastic with a sticky clear silicon pad at either end. She stuck the silicon pad at each side of her face hidden by her hair with the elastic under her hair and the pads tightened and pulled her skin out, lifting her eyes and eyebrows. She showed it working and it made quite a difference.

Madonna just used to pull her hair up tightly in a high ponytail to get the same effect.

Grandma70s Ive known two friends of friends who have had the full face lift.
In both cases I remarked to my friends how well they looked.
Nothing obvious or crooked or strange, they just looked very well.
My close friend has had several tweaks all done in Lithuania.
Her teeth were done in Turkey ( where else 😂) but with each procedure she researches and researches again.
I’d have my elevences done because they look like deep frown lines, they’re not. They are from a bad road accident when I was 15. But I’m not good with pain 😱

I have a caci facial monthly, it's more commonly know as , a non surgical face lift . It works well for me , I also have botox, on my frown lines, forehead and lines around my eyes . I do it for myself, not for anyone else. Results are amazing , I'm 60 now and would definitely have a surgical face lift in the future

Good for you. When you look in the mirror you feel much better anout yourself. As long as it's a gentle tweak and not 'a rabbit in the headlights', look, its your business.

I got a free face-lift effect this year after two months on radiotherapy for oral cancer.

If anything, I'd have a breast reduction. My K-cup boobs cause untold physical discomfort but I'd never spend money on anything purely for appearance.

With respect, if a doctor has paid for their own training it’s up to them what they choose to do with it, nothing has been ‘stolen’ merely a valid choice made.

Your comment is an over simplification of something you clearly don’t know anything about. List of nurses choose private work. They aren’t bullied into it and they don’t want to work for the nhs. Funnily enough like most humans they have preferences.
