I have found a cure for my insomnia

I have real difficulty sleeping. I come wide awake about 2am an then lay there for three or four hours.

I saw a recommendation for long lasting diffusers from a company in Scotland and bought them. They are wonderful. Then I saw that they do lots of other products too.

I bought Camomile and Lavender body lotion. I rubbed into my neck, shoulders hands and feet. Went to bed at midnight and woke at 6 feeling refreshed. Best of all no banging headache which I have every morning. I am sure I will be able to recover what I spend by saving on pain killers.

I find if I have a headache coming on before bed, I use a little tiger balm around my cheek bones, eye sockets & temples & maybe a little under my nose. I find the headache soon disappears. I
Will try some of these treatments on here- as they sound lovely. Sometimes tks have some nice lavender sprays- only buy the organic stuff in there & only if it’s sealed & a good price 😊

Neom also do a good range of oils for stress& insomnia- it’s not cheap though

I wonder if it is worth starting a new thread in the early ours so that we can chat and maybe talk about cures. I listen to Audible for hours on end.

Audible and my hiddenbrain podcast, yes. I just purchased some sort of sleep patch with natural herbs online.
I will try it and let you know how it works (probably in a message around 2am)

I 2 nd melatonin. Couldn’t live without it. Don’t know why it’s not available in uk

Million thanks for all the advice and recommendations! Invaluable. Made a careful note of all. My sleep is very fragile. BTW careful with melatonin: as you say it is a hormone produced by body. However if we take melatonin as a regular sleep aid our bodies will stop producing it naturally. So it does not seem a good idea. Reason why only on prescription in UK

I find magnesium spray has worked wonders with my sleep. The one I use also has lavender and chamomile so smells lovely too. I spray it on me at bedtime.

It is supposed to be very good for helping restless legs too, although thankfully I don’t suffer from this.

So many people have sent requests for detail by pm hope everyone gets help. In case I have missed anyone the company is
ARRAN SENSE OF SCOTLAND.

I have switched to camomile tea and got a White Company Lavender and camomile diffusers. I would not buy the diffuser again as the smell is not to my liking. A case of try before you buy.

I bought some deep sleep lavender/chamomile body lotion and slept through the night. Thanks for the great suggestion!! I’m hoping it continues to work ❤️

I have looked them up. Unfortunately they charge £25 for delivery to Europe. And they use FedEx! I haven't seen a FedEx delivery van for years here in Germany and never in our area. No wonder delivery is expensive. And when it arrives I'd probably have to pay the same again in customs duties (Thanks to Brexit)

They may as well send it on a gold horse-drawn coach.

I have found another company that does something similar but it may not be as good. I can order it from Amazon. It still comes from the UK but Amazon deals with the customs and delivery. I'll order it and let you know if it works.

They sell via Amazon as well.. maybe that's easier for delivery JackyB

Thanks for that tip

I use Harrogate Organics Magnesium Spray. It can also be applied/massaged into aching body parts! Seems to do the trick for me

House of Bruar sell some of the Arran sense range.

My husband's GP said that 1/4 cup of pure cherry juice before bed promotes sleep. It won't help my DH, but maybe will help someone else.

What do you do when you wake at 6am?

O find this time until 9 am when I go swimming very stressful. I am widowed

Pukka do a Sleep tea with oats, limeflower and camomile. I let it steep and then drink. It usually helps.
