Good Morning from a dull and damp mid-Lancs. Not far off putting the clocks back, are we?

A later good morning from a very wet Northampton, but should brighten up by lunchtime, letting me get out to the shops. Will have a coffee and a bite to eat while I'm out.

Over 2 hours of dance classes yesterday morning, then coffee with a fellow Swan. Got the bus to the library, returned two books, but sadly.the book I wanted was out on loan, so I have reserved it. They will email me once it's in. Put the towels out on the washing line before I went out and they were all dry when I got back.

Out to rugby after dinner and luckily the rain held off; wow, what a match! We had a phone light show as our team came out which was amazing again, then the fireworks really started! Northampton Saints dominated, scoring 7 tries, and winning 47-17 against Sale Sharks. I went home a happy bunny!

Just spent 20 minutes trying to get one of my Alexas working until I realised it was switched off at the mains! I now have Tony Blackburn's Sounds of the Sixties on. A good programme for a Saturday!

Steak for dinner tonight. Hoping for a pleasant day ahead for all GNs. Happy travelling, Maw and grandMattie. gM, the point I think of the Guggenheim is the building itself, I thought it was magnificent, and only went inside for a coffee!

Another sunny morning so should make the most of it, but I have nothing planned and nothing I absolutely have to do. Lots of positive posts this morning so hope the day continues like this for everyone.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s damp again but mild enough. We are taking my stepfather to M&S Food Hall this afternoon for a Big Shop. He lives very near the Man. Utd ground and there’s a match on this afternoon so we’ll have to hit the sweet spot to avoid the traffic. He had his Covid and ‘flu jabs on Wednesday with no ill effects and a recent MOT with bloods was normal. Very reassuring for him and us.

Oh Liberty that’s sounds great.
I’ll have a look at the programme and might well book it to take little gd. She would love it. ☃️🎄

Good morning all and it looks like it’s our turn for rain here in Essex.

We were so lucky with our week in Suffolk- wall to wall sunshine and warm, warm days.

Yesterday we journeyed back with no holdups. The A12 is apparently the worst A road in the country. Always having work done for resurfacing but only in parts. We bumped, bounced and shook all the way home.

DS1 and DIL popped in after work for a chat to tell us gd has left her trainee post at the dental practice. She had a torrid time there for two months , with uncaring and bullying staff. She’s an intelligent girl with good A level grades , pleasant and keen. What a shame! It’s really knocked her confidence and this was her chosen career. Some people are so unkind.

I feel rather ropey along with a splitting headache and extremely sore arm after my Covid booster yesterday.

All plans cancelled today, hopefully I will feel better tomorrow as we are out with friends to celebrate a birthday.

Good morning from a dry and dull Suffolk. We shall have a quiet day today when I intend to soak the fruit in brandy for my Christmas cake which I will make tomorrow.

Apart from making a cake I like to leave everything else to do with Christmas until December but yesterday I booked tickets for a concert at Snape Maltingsbon 15th December.

We haven’t been to this concert before but it has been held now for a few years. It is the showing of Raymond Brigg’s “ The Snowman” with a live orchestra and choir and lasts only 50 minutes.

DGD1 is home from university the day before so I’ve booked tickets for DS and family and we two. Snape Maltings will be very festive( and heaving. It is DGS3’s birthday 2 days later so we’ll probably have a celebratory lunch after the concert which is at 12.30. There are now several different places to eat there now.

Hope today is a good day for all.

Yesterday spent in pain management after op, but tidied round a bit. DS is in charge and loves cooking, but leaves devastation behind. Cooking wasted on me, my meal last night consisting of half a small trifle. I smell the delicious aromas from his efforts emanating from the kitchen…

Now enjoying David Copperfield from 1999 with Maggie Smith, although Dickens’ characters are so exaggerated.
DD arrives from the south today and DS will be off. He’s been very good company and useful with the jobs he gets on with.

Morning Mick, morning All. After heavy overnight rain the sky should clear and out should come some sun, hope so.

A frustrating hour with BT yesterday morning left me jangled and more than a little cross. Why do simple things take forever? TaiChi in the afternoon where I discovered it wasn’t the best coordinated of days. The hall used was freezing, it belongs to a school and not heated until after half term. I felt for the group leader as many were muttering not so quietly.

We’ll venture forth today whether the sun appears or not No idea where yet, one of those head out the front door and see where we finish days.

Lots of busy people here, I feel positively lazy alongside you all. Safe travels to all on the move, hope Saturday is kind to us all

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. I am surprised to see it’s raining - that wasn’t supposed to happen. Hope it clears up later as I need to clean my car, inside and out. Before that I’ll do a small shop. School was rather chaotic yesterday and I came home more tired than usual. A couple of letters to write today that I’ve been dragging my feet about - I’m usually an enthusiastic letter writer.

Last night's concert was amazing, conducted by John Wilson who is from Gateshead.
Sheku Kanneh-mason played in the first half and came and sat in our row after the interval.
I am off to the hospital this morning for a CT angiogram, DD coming with me.
