Good morning from a bright W Kent. Cleaner coming this morning otherwise a clear day. Slightly sore throat, hoping it doesn’t develop.
Susan sorry your day didn’t work out and hope you find mum a bit better today.
Best wishes to all

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

I am making a vat of chilli to batch freeze this morning and then I have to go to Derby to take all the bits and bobs we have found dotted around the house since DGD1 went home. The haul so far is a phone charger, a novel, hair stuff and her mother's cleanser.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Morning from South Lanarkshire where it’s light now but very overcast.
Got quite a lot done yesterday including writing a condolence letter which I’ve been finding difficult to compose, I hope I’ve got it right.

Chair yoga this morning and a visit to a housebound friend this afternoon. Her short term memory loss seems to mean she lives in the present and appears content, but it’s hard to know.

Thanks for kind thoughts for my daughter Brook and Grammaretto.

I hadn’t picked up about your DH’s scan today FGTS, I sincerely hope it goes well.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Good morning all and as Redcar has told you, it’s dreary here in Essex.

Yesterday’s trip to the craft Fayre was busy with so many little stalls. Little dgd bought a few little gifts but everything seemed so expensive. She loves making all types of craft and when we got home said to her mum ‘can we do a stall next year? We’ll make a fortune!’ 🤣🤣. 💷🫰.

Today I have Chimes group which will be fun, but we really must take it a bit more seriously as we have concerts looming 😬.

Music and memories this afternoon but I’m not sure I’ll go. Usually I go to my friends for a sandwich inbetween as it’s not worth me coming home through the traffic, but said friend is away .

Susan tough times for you 💐.
Thoughts with you and your dh FGT.🙏
Karma 🤯. You make my head spin 😉.

Take care all and keep well 🌻🍁

FGT2 I hope all goes well today.🌹

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 12°C.

Susan, 💐

brook, I have had cellulitis in my leg a number of times. One one occasion, I came bavpck from Seville with it. My GP said that if I had left it any longer, I would probably developed sepsis. I'm pleased to hear your DH has got antibiotics. Now as soon as I see that tell tale rash, I'm on the phone to the surgery.

Sending Best wishes Mr FGT. for today.

Enjoy your day, folks.

Mind blowing quotations for replacing the rear fence so it’s as well I am not planning a cruise (or anything else!) in the foreseeable future but it needs to be done as soon as possible which looks like about three weeks away. More than enough excitement for now.

Thinking of FGT2 and DH and hoping all is positive - what a nail biting wait for the result, though.

cornergran Mon 28-Oct-24 08:08:45

Morning Mick, morning All from a grey corner of Somerset.

Yesterdays sun saw us pottering outside for an hour, some final garden tidying. I’ll get the slow cooker started then it’s off to plead with a hard pressed dental receptionist for an urgent appointment. I’m not too hopeful as it’s not the most accommodating of dental surgeries. Not the receptionists fault for sure. On to a couple of charity shop drops, some coffee then bits and bobs to get. This afternoon my list tells me I will be chasing three organisations, once that’s done my book is calling.

I’m sorry yesterday was so tough susan, good wishes to you and himself fgt, hope today goes well.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from an overcast NE after overnight rain.
DS and GD2 visited yesterday, she brought her homework with her.
After dinner she played the piano, she is studying for her grade 6, one of the pieces is quite jazzy.
DS played the banjo for a while but they had to leave early as DS has to work in the office today and leaves the house at 6am.
I will see them again on Wednesday when they escape the noise of the workmen in GD's bedroom.
Thinking of FGT and her DH.
Have a good day.

Good morning from a grey Glasgow!
This colder weather has really exacerbated my asthma cough ….I sound like a seal in distress when it starts! 😬
Not much planned for today…shopping at Sainsburys and possibly a wee garden centre
coffee.
Hope all with worries have their best day. Will be thinking of FGT and her husband and that all is well.

grandMattie Mon 28-Oct-24 08:19:28

Much love and prayers for you both, fgt2.🫂🤗

Jaxjacky Mon 28-Oct-24 08:19:35

Morning from a grey but dry S Hants. Yesterday was quiet, finished off some cleaning, rang my 91 year old uncle then MrJ and I went to the pub meat draw.
Today voluntary phones, library, gardening lady will be here and washing to be done.
A tricky day Susan sad for you.
Hope today’s appointments go smoothly FGT for himself and you get one for your ‘twinges’.
Successful weekend Ashcombe busy, no wonder your body is grumbling, well done though 👏👏

Stillearning, from experience, any letter other than a nasty one is far.far better than silence “because I didn’t know what to say”! Good luck.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 28-Oct-24 08:26:24

Oh thank you all for your good wishes. It means a lot to me to have such kindly virtual cheerleading from the sidelines. Of course I shall be apprehensive waiting for the results. My darling man looks and feels well but we can never again take anything for granted.

I was sat looking out of the window just now and got to thinking ‘imagine if we didn’t have this sword of Damocles hanging over us and life was how it used.to be 18 months ago - carefree - how light my heart would be and how different the world would seem this morning’. Ach.

EkwaNimitee Mon 28-Oct-24 08:28:34

Good morning Mick and everyone from damp Carlisle. It must have rained a lot during the night judging from the full bird bath. The robin was having a good clean in it yesterday but I don't think he'll need to bother today.

I was out in the garden yesterday morning, all the bulbs are now in and the fruit and veg border tidied and weeded. It's too early for pruning as leaves are still to fall.

Today will see the bulk of the week's housework cleared out of the way I hope and I've still admin to do. The afternoon to be spent reading and brain training.

Best wishes for Mr FGT.

And wishing you all a pleasant day.

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 28-Oct-24 08:44:31

Good morning from a sunny but chilly Costa Blanca.

It’s our last day here, we are off to a Hotel in Alicante until we fly back at the end of the week, it will be nice to be able to wander around the city, but not so good having to pack and unpack again.

Yesterday was a shocking day, freezing cold, power cut for half the day and torrential rain that went on until at least midnight last night. Brrrrrrr. I was prepared though, with socks, jumpers and even a hot water bottle for MrOops cold feet! There is a central heating boiler, down under the house, no English instructions, the gas bottles are in a locked cupboard, maybe they are full? Who knows? No smoke or carbon monoxide detectors anywhere and I couldn’t even tell if the water taps were on or off. So we sat and shivered, even the beach bar only had outside tables!

Anyway, mustn’t grumble…….

Sorry to hear of all the poorly Grans and relatives!

FGTs hope your day goes well.

Hope all poorly people soon start to feel better, hugs for those with worries and stress.

Beechnut Mon 28-Oct-24 08:45:01

Good morning all. Overcast here on Severnside.

I hope all goes well for Himself today FGT.

I’m off to get my shingles jab later.

Good morning all from a still, grey Angus coast. With 37 if you early risers ahead of me, I'm afraid I'm going to have to leave the pleasure of reading all your posts until later and throw in my little tuppence-worth first.
Yesterday was such a beautiful day that I couldn't bear to stay home, so I went off to a family-owned garden centre near Perth. It has the most beautifully laid out gift and clothing area where I made a large impact on my Christmas shopping list and enjoyed every minute of my browsing. I depleted my bank balance and could have spent a lot more if I hadn't suddenly become too tired to go on. (That covid jab is still making its presence known.) I'll be back there for sure!
As well as Christmas I have seven close family birthdays to buy for between now and the first week in January - an expensive time of year.
Today I have a clinic appointment. It used to be doctor-led, but now I see it is led by a team of nurses ...... I actually don't mind that as I have often said in the past that in some cases I'd actually rather see one of the practice nurses than a GP, but it is a sign of the times.
After that I need to do a larder top-up, and then home and a lazy afternoon reading all your posts and watching tv.
Enjoy your day everyone x

Best wishes FGT flowers

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
An uncomfortable night but it’s nice to have DD from the south here. She has a sore throat, so is keeping her distance. Her flying job means she is often in contact with bugs etc.
I cooked salmon fillet with new potatoes and broccoli for her, whilst I slowly made my way through a small bowl of tomato soup and a small chocolate mousse 🙄. But still a meal of sorts.

Thoughts to FGT, been there a few times and it’s not pleasant, and to Susan and all🌺
.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 28-Oct-24 10:35:31

Baby steps holly. Compare yesterday to say a fortnight ago. It will give you a boost to realise you are making progress, truly.

mamaa Mon 28-Oct-24 11:37:46

Did pop in earlier but had to go to Keep Fit class, so couldn’t post as no time. However back now and just wanted to say ‘Hello’ and that FGT and himself were on my mind this morning- hope everything goes well today for you both and also well wishes to others with worries and concerns.
Hope today is as good as it can be, for us all. 🌷🌸🌺🌻

FGT2, thinking of you and your dear DH today and hoping all goes well - I know exactly how you feel. Hugs (((()))))

Auntieflo Mon 28-Oct-24 17:24:32

FGT2. Hope everything went well with your DH scan. I also had one today, and have an oncology appointment on Nov 5th.
Just hoping for no fireworks in the results!
