One Time Passwords- OTPs Amazon

So.. I’d always assumed being a stickler for following the rules (joking) that no one should share any OTPs which you normally would receive via text message from the bank or other institutions. Yesterday I learnt that Amazon has a new rule whereby you have to share an OTP with an Amazon driver for goods that are above a certain price . I checked this out and indeed it does tell customers that they need to show the OTP on their phone before driver hands over the parcel then driver takes photo… some Amazon drivers say the OTP is incorrect and won’t hand over the item/s… and neighbour told me she tried to contact Amazon about this and they haven’t responded as yet
Any GNs have experience of this happening or solutions..am wary of ordering with the festive season coming up?

A One Time Password is just that. It can be used once and never again. I don't quite understand the concern.

The concern is the OTP was an issue with the driver and neighbour and didn’t handover the item as driver said it was incorrect OTP

Sorry Bea65 I didn’t help in my post.
I’ve never had this happen and none of my friends or family have mentioned it either.

I have had a smart phone for many years now, although initially nit by choice. My biggest bugbear is having to download apps to use something. I recently had to have heating aids and yep, there is an app to download for them.

OldFrill I only receive OTPs via text message on iPhone - never in an email-I’ve a new iPad and the OTPs are not contained within the email confirmation of item orders.. my iPhone is not as new as the iPad so wondering 🤔
Jaxjacky all replies gratefully received 😊

Mr Bezos has 310 million active users on Amazon. He doesn’t care that you refuse to embrace this wonderful technology.

I quoted from the Amazon website. Which states Amazon send a message/email or you can access OTP via their tracking info. It's only used for certain (expensive) items, not all. I've never ordered something from then that needed an OTP.
