Has anyone seen it?

DH usually unpacks the dishwasher and is quite good at it normallygrin

But, he seems to have mislaid the gravy boat. I don't use it often but really need it today.

Try the salad drawer in the fridge. My friend found her engagement ring in her salad drawer, but her wedding ring has yet to materialise. grin

My engagement ring was in with the Christmas decorations. DH found it 11 months later 😀

That reminded me - last December I found the missing (2nd) little remote for our radio/CD player, while wrapping 🎄presents, It was in the little bag with the collection of gift tags and ribbons etc. which had been up in the loft since the previous January.
I had thought it must have been gathered up among the newspapers/mags in the recycling bin and gone for ever.

Evidently gathered up with tags and ribbons instead.

Damn - why didn't I think of that?

There was a older woman on the news who enlisted the help of the local rugby club to help her find her TV remote. It was stuck down the side of her chair.

You missed a trick there, kittylester, you could have enlisted the help of some muscled rugby players!

Not exactly the princess and the pea!

Arewethereyet please would you check your chair again. Your custard tart may have been having a chat with my butternut squash which went AWOl from my chopping board earlier today.

Sorry, can't find it.

But I think I might have noticed if there had been a butternut squash behind my cushion 😅😅

Am I alone in making a big meal then leaving something in the kitchen or oven - though switched off - and only discovering once the meal is over. Last year I left bread rolls that had warmed in the oven behind when serving xmas dinner, we didn't need them anyway, fact is we never really need them, but I have inherited my old mum's habit of always putting out bread and butter.

Oh wow, I hope you hadn’t bought another one.

No, he didn't but it was on the agenda

AreWeThereYet Fri 01-Nov-24 19:57:15

Glad you found it.

I just found my custard tart. I forgot I had put it on the arm of the sofa (wrapped in a napkin) while I went back to the kitchen to fetch the glasses I had forgotten to pick up. About 2 hours later I suddenly remembered it, but couldn't remember if I had eaten it. Blamed MrA for pinching it.

Pulled the cushion out from behind me a few minutes ago as I sat down and a slightly squashed custard tart rolled out, fortunately still wrapped in the napkin. Not sure how it got from the arm of the sofa to under the cushion on the sofa. Had to give it to MrA to make up for accusing him of pinching it 😁

And Kittylester, I'm glad you found it!

CanadianGran Fri 01-Nov-24 19:45:27

Kate1949, I didn't know that Pyrex did gravy boats; I googled yours and it's lovely.

I have one china one (Royal Doulton Diana), and one cheap glass from the dollar store. The family dinners are getting more populated, so we set us two tables now. I suppose I could source another china one, but I only need a second one 3 tunes a year.

I didn’t think to look in the salad drawer when I lost my engagement ring and wedding ring years ago.

When my daughter lost her wedding and engagement rings a few years ago, my husband went through her kitchen bin, and there they were.
She’s getting divorced now, because he was controlling and abusive. She threw her wedding ring in the river, she was so distressed.

Incidentally I have got replacement rings now. In fact, my husband upgraded my second engagement ring about five years ago again, and we went together to Hatton Garden to choose the diamond. The same jeweller who made the new ring made my second diamond into a diamond pendant for my daughter.

I found it. And suspect it was me!!!!blush

It was in the grill co.partment of the cooker. I MAY have put it there to get warm. No idea why I didn't use it at the time.

Oh good!

I hope Mr Lester didn't get into trouble 😀

Aveline Fri 01-Nov-24 18:19:34

Phew. I've been checking to see it it's turned up. Glad it has.

Perhaps it sailed away!
The plot ‘thickens’.

😂😂😂

Babs03 Fri 01-Nov-24 17:48:13

Could be an Agatha Christie style mystery. The unfortunate case of the missing gravy boat.
Is it kitty who is conveniently pleading ignorance?
Is it her DH, who has hidden the evidence in the flower beds?
Or is it the mysterious ‘gravy boat robber’?
The plot ‘thickens’.
🤔

foxie48 Fri 01-Nov-24 17:47:04

Perhaps it sailed away! I'm a "keeper" whereas Mr Foxie is a "throw away" sort of guy. It totally infuriates me to find a treasured but little used "thing" is awol but because Mr Foxie pretends to be a bit absent minded he never admits to throwing it away so I spend time looking for it.

If you find it, just check to see if my Turkish olive dish is nearby please.

I lost my potato peeler. A couple of years went by and emptying the compost heap there it was.

Allira Fri 01-Nov-24 15:59:15

I had a lovely, unusual one years ago with matching saucer but Someone Who Shall Not Be Named broke it.
The saucer was fine but that's no use on its own.

Allira Fri 01-Nov-24 15:56:33

Yes, try the bin, surreptitiously placed and wrapped in newspaper!

Tesco was selling plain white ones today if that's any help.
