Good morning Mick and all from a brighter northwest coast.
My friend left yesterday after his overnight stay and I really didn’t feel ready for hostessing after my op, it took it out of me and I went back to sleep after he left. I know how you feel Redcar💐

Flying DD has taken her best friend with her to Japan, she working and friend as a cling on.
I’m wondering if I have the energy for the music c,but this afternoon, everything is such an effort, but at least the eating is getting back to normal.

Happy birthday olddudders, well done Mizuna and thoughts to all🌺

Good morning from a dank foggy Co Armagh
Yesterday was lovely, more washing partially dried.
More gardening , went in search of replacement solar lights , but only plug in lights available
The Range was packed ! People with huge boxed trees swiping stuff off the shelves ! Didn’t dawn on anyone to stand the box up in the trolly instead of precariously balanced accross it
Bagged two nice winter hardy plants for the price of one , so one is in the middle of my tulip pot the other has to be found a home
Hoping we all have the best day possible 💐

Jaxjacky Tue 12-Nov-24 08:54:53

Morning from a bright, chilly S Hants. Happy Birthday oldudders 🎂🥂
A very welcome win gM and deserved.
Good to see you’re out of hospital Redcar have a gentle day.
Yesterday I was on the voluntary phone, a mixture of calls, we are very busy and sadly a couple of our drivers aren’t well, most of our volunteers are retired and of a similar age to many of our clients.
Quiz last night, a fun evening.
Not much on today, domestic chores, a little to do in the garden and I’ll revisit my Christmas lists.

Good morning all from the east coast of Fife where it’s cold and dry. My dear cleaning lady has offered to take me to Sainsburys tomorrow where I’ll be buying ingredients to make a hearty soup.
Today I’m getting bacon, egg, fresh orange juice. tea and toast for breakfast, I’m so blessed with my carers who will be making my breakfast and I’m blessed I can afford these items

Take care my friends wrap up well and keep cosy 🎉

Annypop Tue 12-Nov-24 08:36:23

Good morning from County Durham.
Thank you so much to those of you who congratulated DG1. She arrived home safely yesterday to much rejoicing plus a training schedule for her gym's Christmas gymnastics display!
It never stops.
Today it will be tidying and ironing in preparation for a trip away later in the week.
DH managed to repair the broken key on the electric keyboard we had in the loft so we shall attempt to find it a good home. The wardrobes need a close inspection soon to see what can be emptied to create some extra space.
I hope your curtain can be cleaned GB. My trio love painting. We had firework splashes all over the breakfast table last week. Fortunately they missed the walls.
Congratulations on your win GM. You certainly deserve it.
"Karma, you are an inspiration to us all.
To anyone I've failed to mention have the best day you can.

Beechnut Tue 12-Nov-24 08:32:46

Good morning everyone from sunny Severnside.

Happy Birthday olddudders 🍺🎉

ginny Tue 12-Nov-24 08:27:09

Good morning all.
We should have been visiting my brother and SIL today but it has been cancelled.
He has blood cancer and is quite poorly at the moment. His immune system is compromised so it was thought best not to go just in case we carry something in.
So, not sure what to do today, I’m all at sixes and sevens.
Sending healing thoughts to all who are struggling with bad health or other problems .

Good morning everyone from a much brighter Northampton, another sunny day ahead!

Had a good yoga class yesterday, then a coffee in the lovely little cafe just round the corner. Gleaned some useful information yesterday; was saying I hadn't had an invitation for the RSV vaccine route being notified of it on both the NHS app and a text from my surgery.
"Oh" said my friend, "the surgery are doing it, but not sending out invites. You have to phone them up and ask for it."
How stupid is that?
So rang them at lunchtime and have an appointment for it this Friday.

Spent the afternoon tidying the sitting room and vacuuming the.furniture; also removed the cushion covers and washed them. All ready for this morning's coffee and cake get-together of neighbours and ex-neighbours.

Sainsbury's delivery this afternoon; not my usual day, but I have decided to make the Christmas puddings tomorrow and needed a few extra ingredients. Also on my usual day have planned to go to Milton Keynes. Also ordered stuff to make mince pies should the urge arise.

Happy birthday to your DH, Ash.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all from a foggy Glasgow, where it is only 2°C

Yet another restless night and I have woken with a blinding headache and a throat full of razor blades. 😡

Something to cheer you up, GM, a nice surprise.

Corner, I am sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Many of my mother's side of the family have lupus and R,A, You must have been feeling so unwell.
I hope your clinicians can help you. 💐

I will not bore you with Mr MD's fiasco with Virgin Media and as predicted, totally ignoring everything I had told him. He must have spent an hour running up and down stairs between the TV and router. Eventually, he said: It's the Tivo box. I asked why he hadn't told them, that I had already done a diagnostic test, which came up with an error code for the box.
I didn't even know he was on the phone, until I picked up the landline to phone the surgery for test results and I heard him talking to someone..
That man will be the end of me 😡
After DH, speaking to several Virgin techies, the people at Virgin eventually gave up and we will be having an engineer visit this afternoon.

On the way back from church, I popped into Lidl to stock up on freezer stuff. When I got home, I found the freezer wasn't working. 😭
Apparently it is down to me cramming too much in it! Isn't that what you are meant to do? 🤭

There was the saddest funeral, I have ever seen at Mass yesterday. There were only four mourners. Usually our church is very full.
It upset me, that the person had so few people in their life. I got quite morbid, thinking about, who would mourn me. 😉

The third broken item was DH's printer. I opened it up to find a leaking colour cartridge and a very dusty printer. Grr. Cue some very, ink stained hands.
I cleaned everything up, realigned print heads, did a deep clean, all to know avail.
I asked if he had a spare ink cartridge, he didn't.
I tried to print remotely from my PC, ( both printers are set up, so that you can print from both PCs. The black was working, but not the colour. So why couldn't he print at all?

Being flummoxed, I decided to uninstall his printer, then update the drivers.
I went on to his PC to find that he had been printing from a phantom printer, he did not have and lots of documents were stacked up. No wonder he couldn't print.😡😡😡

I deleted the rogue printer and tested the correct one, it did work, but only in black. I then noticed a new ink cartridge, lying beside his PC. It was a new colour one, the one he didn't have!
The printer is now working like a dream, I have not lost my touch!

Enjoy your meet ups folks, I will get up and see how I feel, before deciding what to do.

Bella, I hope your wee grandson is on the mend.

Have a good day, all.

Grandmabatty Tue 12-Nov-24 08:24:10

Happy birthday to your DH Ash. Grammaretto 7 mini Christmas puddings! I made the mixture on Sunday evening, the boys stirred it on Monday after school then I steamed them for three hours.

luluaugust Tue 12-Nov-24 08:23:14

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Another slow day for me but at least I didn’t cough half the night. DH has said he will do a bit of shopping so we will be well stocked up
Happy birthday to MrAsh
Nice to have a win gM

EkwaNimitee Tue 12-Nov-24 08:22:22

Good morning Mick and everyone from a rather grey and cool Carlisle. Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day so it needs to perk up here soon¡

I got off to a bad start yesterday, I got up, showered and dressed..no problem, then I reached out for something with my right arm and yowled in agony as pain shot through my shoulder and down my arm. Subsequently, every time I raised that arm a certain way, the same thing happened, the shoulder joint remaining painful in between. So it was an early e-consult to the surgery resulting in a phone call within 15 minutes and an appointment for later in the morning. Fortunately, driving was not a problem and even more fortunately, nothing had parted company in the shoulder area. It will take time, ice packs and exercises...I actually got a cancelled appointment place with the physio for this afternoon. Meanwhile everything has to be done thoughtfully, luckily I'm left-handed though washing up isn't easy as the sink and drainer are set up for a right-hander.
Today...just get on with the laundry and vacuuming, a good job that I swapped my vac for a lighter weight one.

There are worse conditions to get on with as I see on this thread and am especially wishing Redcar a speedy recovery.

Have a pleasant day everyone.

GrannyIvy Tue 12-Nov-24 08:21:49

Good morning from a bright Oxfordshire.
Hair dressing trip cancelled due to her illness, so rescheduled for tomorrow.
ENT booked for Friday afternoon.
Happy birthday to Olddudders

Hugs for those who are unwell, stressed or unhappy, may today be better for you. Hopefully we can all enjoy some sunshine.

cornergran Tue 12-Nov-24 08:18:27

Happy birthday olddudders. Enjoy.

GrannySomerset Tue 12-Nov-24 08:17:08

We have a sunny morning, the first for a fortnight, and it’s amazing how much more cheerful it makes me feel. Wonderful cleaner this morning so bed changing and laundry will be the order of the day as well as some phone calls to make. Hope everyone’s plans for the day work out.

Stilllearning Tue 12-Nov-24 08:16:48

Morning from South Lanarkshire. I haven’t checked the temperature but a blast of cold air hit me when I opened the door to bring in the milk.

Post school childminding day and fortunately my first bus stops just outside the Royal Infirmary so I will be calling in to either visit my sister in law or establish whether she is being/has been transferred this morning to a hospice in East Kilbride. Information has been rather chaotic so I will then be able to call another member of the family and let them know where the afternoon visitor should go.
Fortunately M herself is unaware of this.

I haven’t had time to do other than speed read the thread over the last few days but I have tried to keep up and I was very happy to see Kalu posting again, one tiny step forward dear lady, I have thought of you often.

I hope you had a good day out baubles and that you enjoyed your dip into your volunteering again.

Grandmabatty your accident with the paint is exactly the kind of thing that happens to me, I could have wept for you!

I have been so busy that I cheated yesterday and bought a pie for the children’s tea tonight (I like to cook for them). However I had a piece myself last night and it was not great so a visit to the butcher will have to be factored in to the day so I shall close now and wish everyone the best day possible x

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 12-Nov-24 08:16:00

Good morning everyone from a sunny Málaga. Excellent weather for meeting my ladies this afternoon at LWW! I think the rain clouds roll in tomorrow sometime. There will just be 4 of us today. 6 last week. We ebb & flow throughout the year.

I wonder how Pantsglas is enjoying their luxury cruise? Looking forward to hearing about the Caribbean soon.

I got 2 wash loads done & dried in the sun yesterday so I’m ahead of the game ready for our flight home on Thursday.

👋 to Blossoming in my thoughts.

Happy birthday olsdudders🎂🎉🎁

Good morning all. Goodness the temperature has plummeted in Glasgow and according to the forecast, due to reach the minuses as the week goes on, however, we do have sunshine and drier weather.

DD1 and GD2 dropped in after school yesterday full of chat about her upcoming Nat.5 prelims coming up. A bit of a stressful time for all including Granny. 🤞

I did a quick Waitrose shop when they left, quick being the operative word, everyone, including staff were complaining about how cold the store was. I think whoever was in charge of heating operations pressed the wrong button to produce air conditioning. 🥶

More bulb potting today with chicken wire at the ready to cover the pots in an attempt to defeat any squirrels digging up the bulbs.

Best wishes to all for a good day and a better one for those who need one.

NannyJan53 Tue 12-Nov-24 08:09:45

Good morning from a much brighter Black Country.

Tiring day yesterday. Walked 6 miles with my walking group. Then home for a quick lunch before going on to Line Dancing with my friend. Legs certainly ached by the end of the day.

DGD2 and her friend are coming for a meal after college today. Her friend is in a concert in the evening. One of the parents will be taking them home after, as they live 14 miles away. I will be making a Lasagne this morning, and mince pies as the oven will be on.

Happy birthday to Olddudders flowers

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good morning from another lovely sunny Suffolk. Yesterday after our trip to Dunwich we went to Southwold as I had a prescription to collect from the surgery. We enjoyed coffee on the pier sitting outside with the warmth of the sun on our faces…..wonderful.

Today there is more to do in the garden whilst the weather is good. It’s hard to remember on days like yesterday and hopefully all day today that we are approaching mid November.

Hope this glorious sunshine reaches all of you today.
