What a handsome chap Ash! 💙
Recommendations please for thorn- and nettle-proof gauntlets – if possible vegan
My fat balls bring all the birds to the yard
Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start here in brackley this morning.
Yesterdays Blood test went OK , today doing the usual bus journey to and from Bicester then housework etc.
Health wise OK despite yesterday being a bad day ,suffering when walking.
Take Care,
Mick
What a handsome chap Ash! 💙
Good morning from a bright Oxfordshire, hairdresser this morning, I’ve cancelled her twice because of my ear problem, but as MrOops is going to deliver and collect me I think I can manage to sit in a chair for 3 hours, a bit concerned about the rinsing off, but I can’t worry about that at the moment,
I have a bad ear ache, which in a way is good as it shows that my problem is definitely an ear problem and not a brain thing.
Then MrOops is taking me over to MissOops for an overnight stay, the first time in over 8 years, now the Nephew has moved out she can have people in the house, including her parents!
Susan hope today goes well.
ash great pic.
Hope everybody has as good a day as they can and are able to enjoy some sunshine. I don’t go out in it much but I do appreciate it.
Morning Mick, Morning All from a brightening corner of Somerset.
Jolly cold walking home from the bus last night, I was glad of my gloves. A long eye hospital session, got home after 7pm. After the usual tests and some extra scans with unusually long waits in between we had half an hour with a senior doctor who explained my eyes had been to the consultant panel (always seems odd not to go with them) and it had been agreed they don’t yet have a diagnosis for what the scans are showing. The tentative uveitis diagnosis had been discarded, the good news is my long sight remains perfect and there is stability, we were assured the very pleasant doctor was not worried, rather interested in the puzzle and ‘oddness’ presented. He was very reassuring about the stability and kindness itself as are all the staff. The really good news was no need to return for four months, it’s a heck of a day when we go there, we left after the usual advice to go straight to their A&E if I notice any changes.
Easier day ahead. Grocery delivery, coffee and a natter with neighbours and some dust removal. That’ll do nicely.
Hope all goes well today susan, pleased your husband enjoyed his birthday ash and your shift wasn’t too exhausting baubles. I’m sure there will have been several more posts while I’ve been writing and will read later. Must move or the grocery will be received in our pj’s.
Have the best day you can everyone.
Susan, l hope that all goes smoothly today, and in future. 🤞🤞🤞
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7° and dry with a very red sky. It looks beautiful but is a warning for rain. Ash a lovely photo of your DH. Baubles I'm glad your day in the charity shop worked out. Susan best wishes for the journey to the care home with your mum.
Yesterday dgs2 and I had a lovely day. We nipped to Tesco for bubbles and he loved playing with them in the garden. I bought some for dgs1 too and he enjoyed them after school.
Today I have the last art class of the year. I'm looking forward to it. Then some pottering in the garden. Squirrels are rampaging through my pots. I have chicken wire over the bulbs but the other pots are getting battered. The rowan berries are practically all gone, between the squirrels and birds but there's a bit of a mess to clean up. Have a good day all
Good morning from Durham. Another cool, cloudy day here, but mid-November, so can’t really complain.
Poor DGS2 was sent home from Nursery yesterday with earache. An infection is suspected, but he was too distressed to let the Pharmacist look at it, so was just given ‘drops’.
Started my car up yesterday to drive to the garage and it was perfectly alright. No warning bells/notices/lights and the roof worked as it should, so I decided to leave well alone and cancelled my appointment. Very odd.
Meeting 2 friends at a local garden centre at 10.15 for coffee and a good natter. One does so much for her family (too much) and is going away on Saturday and very worried that they won’t be able to manage without her - I keep my opinions to myself!
Later, I’ll collect DD2’s laundry and her Little Dog who is staying with me for 10 days.
Best wishes to all. X
Oh Susan, I hope all goes well today.
Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
Not sure about today. I may visit my friend who had the hip replacement if she’s up to it. There’s a pile of ironing with my name on, plus more laundry.
It is the Local History Society this evening. The talk is on ‘famous local people’. We only have one (I think) so if I told you their name, you’d know where I live!
OH will be making his mum’s recipe of pea and ham soup today. He bought the ham hocks from a nearby butcher and had to order marrow fat peas on line. He will make a vast quantity and freeze it in individual portions. He’s the only one who eats it. One of my Australian nieces thinks it is like green porridge!
Have a good day. This must be FGT2’s last day in Malaga?
Morning, dry, chilly with high cloud in S Hants.
My very good wishes for today Susan56 mixed emotions I expect, may the transition go smoothly.
Smashing picture Ash olddudders scrubs up well 🙂
Yesterday was ‘bitty’ a little time in the garden, sunny but a keen wind, upstairs cleaning and some in the kitchen. I ordered another Christmas present and the turkey, then spent ages looking up recipes for pud on the day.
Today, nothing pressing, I’ll see what happens.
🦩🦩
Good morning everyone from a misty Northampton, but the sun is due to make an appearance at some time. Can take it slightly easier this morning as I am in all day.
My.coffee morning went well yesterday; we had a good catch-up with everyone's news, and the M&S cake went down well.
Planning on making the Christmas puddings this morning; realised last thing yesterday that I had no stout as required in the.recipe, but I do have lager in the cupboard, so I shall use that instead. Doubt whether it will make much difference in the long run.
I have also got the ingredients for mince pies, so can make those when the mood takes me.
Then this afternoon I shall be making individual cottage pies: one for today, and two or three for the freezer.
Lovely picture of your DH, Ash!
Hope all goes well for you and your mum today Susan.
Have a pleasant day everyone. Would have been my parents' wedding anniversary today - 1943 they were married, so I shall be thinking of them.
Good morning everyone from a grey and wet Málaga. Himself has received an amber weather alert for Andalusia on his phone an hour ago, which surprised us. Technology eh? His phone contract is with Tesco UK but as his mobile is out here he got the warning. Impressive I thought (me not owning a smartphone, I have a dumb one - through choice).
We are meeting neighbours out on holiday from Birmingham. They too have a bolt hole here. We’ve said after lunch we will meet them downstairs in Pedro’s bar. I’m glad we don’t need to walk anywhere in this rain it’s weather for 🦆 🦆 ☔️
The Mediterranean looks grey.
Good morning all and we’re due for wall to wall sunshine here in Essex. 🤔.
As GG says, a sunny day yesterday meeting up with two lovely grans, catching up with their news. We musnt leave it too long until we see each other again. 👍.
I’ll be taking little DGD to school and probably picking up too. Dd is poorly . She’s been so well for the last couple of months 😢.
Hope all goes well today Susan.
Take care all 🌻🍁
Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s still dark but looks dry outside
A lovely picture Ash thanks for sharing and good to hear olddudders enjoyed his day
I’m off to the gym today, I’m still trying to get back into a routine of sorts with regular classes. Nothing much else planned although if it’s dry I’ll walk back into town and do a bit of shopping
Hoping all goes week with your mum today Susan56 and she settles in well
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning from a dull but dry N.Bucks.
As we weren’t able to visit my Brother yesterday we decided to take our donation to the food bank. We save up our loyalty points and then do a shop with them. On to the hospice shop with several coats that MIL had asked us to take.
After a quick lunch we went to our favourite garden centre. We treated ourselves to a new Christmas tree. Our old one really was old and looking quite sparse. DH also bought me another house for my Christmas village.
DH is off to golf soon and I have a fairly long ‘to do’ list.
Baby sitting this evening.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.
Good morning all from foggy South Lanarkshire.
My short shift in the charity shop went smoothly on Monday, thanks for the good wishes, they worked.
Yesterday wasn’t so pleasant, deep cleaning of the upper gums by the dental hygienist. I was numbed up though so not too dreadful. I’ve another two appointments for the lower gums.
We have flu jabs this afternoon, such exciting lives we lead.
Belated birthday wishes to Olddudders.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning from Shropshire.Another dry day forecast.
Lovely picture of olddudders Ash.Belated birthday greetings🥳
Well today is the day🙏🏻we are collecting mum at 10.30 to take her to the care home.I have been scared to mention it and still can’t believe it is going to happen.Seven weeks in the planning. The start of another chapter but hopefully a happier one for her.
Have the best day you can everyone🦩
Good morning from south Glos where it’s dry and chilly.
Going for a long walk from the next village this morning, hopefully in sunshine, then we’ll have lunch at the pub.
That’ll be the first time we’ve eaten out this year I think!
I’m looking forward to a change in scenery 😊
Have a lovely day 🌹
Morning all, the temperature has dropped and it feels as if winter has begun.
Yesterday the sun shone, the tide was in and we had a window table overlooking the sea (not warm enough to sit outside) Gingster Sar53 and myself put the world to rights over a lovely lunch (the portions were enormous) I will always be grateful to GN for meeting these friends.
Came home for school pick up and swimming lessons. Gym this morning, then I need to return a pair of shoes (The Imp’s, they have fallen apart after five weeks, which considering the price is ridiculous)
I am going to the same pool, same teachers, same time just different day and different GC later 🤣
I hope Olddudders enjoyed his birthday 🎂
Have a good day 🙋♀️
Good morning all from the Black country, curtains still closed so don't know what the weather is doing.
I'm on duty again at toddlers, one of the ladies has had a hernia op so may get called on over the next few weeks.
Car failed its MOT some spring or other they will sort it today, we can't complain other than new tyres occasionally it's the first time in 17yrs we've had to spend anything on it.
Well will sort myself some breakfast and come back later to read everyone's happenings.
Have a great day whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️
What a handsome chap, Ash - glad he enjoyed his birthday.
Lovely photo, Ash. Glad he had a good day.
Good morning from a chilly Torbay! Definitely yesterday felt like a Winter draw(er!)s on day, with a pernicious wind adding to the chill.
Greyduster: you might consider seeing your optician about your eye problem. Mine says they’re always available for emergencies and can treat many eye conditions. (Could be quicker than seeing a doctor?)
Thank you for the birthday greetings for olddudders yesterday and this morning. He helpfully took a bag of foil blister packs to Superdrug for recycling. All my medication comes in such packaging so we quickly build up a bagful!
Later, he shopped in Lidl whilst I attended my last physio session at the hospital. It was a six week course which should help to bring an appointment with an orthopaedic surgeon closer. In the evening I treated him to a delicious meal at The Babbacombe Inn where we were made welcome as always and they had even put balloons on the table.
Happy hump day! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
Good morning from a rather damp Malta where it is brightening after rain overnight. High of 24°C today and low of 17°C so it isn’t cold at all yet.
I’m looking after littlest who is absolutely fine but his doctor’s note signed him off until tomorrow so we will enjoy another day together. He certainly is the best tonic, such a happy, loving little boy.
I started watching the tennis last night but fell asleep and missed the entire first set. So annoying but I was tired out.
Wishing you all a good day.☀️
Good morning from s somerset, it is going to be a lovely sunny day
I need to do a tip run, I have 4 huge bags of allotment rubbish and roots in the back of my car,
My arms and hands are aching this morning but I expected that, I know I was over-straining them yesterday.
I want to keep going at full pace for four more days, while the good weather lasts and then life can become more normal
Have a good day
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Still dark in South Yorkshire and 3 degrees outside. I forgot to put my bin out last night so will have to get up in an hour or so and wheel it down the drive trying not to wake the neighbours!
Putting a chicken in the slow cooker is my task for this morning and then writers group this afternoon at the library. I must also try and make a medical appointment as one of my eyes are giving me trouble.
Have the best day you can folks.
