It’s taken me up to now to access GN today and I can’t find any sign of Mick’s thread for today.
Anyone else having a problem?

mamaa Wed 20-Nov-24 13:06:16

Phew glad you’re back, GM thread!
I kept checking too, on both phone and laptop, so realised something was up. Even went onto Mumsnet to see if anything had been put on there re being unable to get onto Gransnet but didn’t see anything- mind you I didn’t stay long 😉🤣.
Glad that normality has been restored- don’t post much but do like to read all your busyness of a morning. xx

Good afternoon from Shropshire. The snow has stopped and the sun is out doing a good job of melting the snow.

A morning of housework and now an afternoon of reading beckons.DH will clear the car and the drive ready for our very early start to a hospital appointment in the morning.

DGD is 9 today. She phoned us very early! We have never had snow on her birthday before.Normally they are all playing in the garden at her parties.

Poor little Babydoll.Hope she recovers soon🧸

Tizliz Wed 20-Nov-24 13:16:39

Six inches of snow here, don’t really want to go out as it is dripping off the trees. Had to knock the worst of the snow off the smaller shrubs before they were squashed as it is that heavy wet snow. Just hope Tesco can get here tomorrow.

Very late post due to site being down.

Just returned from Waitrose near Swindon and came back home along the back roads. Broad Hinton which is at a high elevation had plenty of lying snow in the shade. Ours lasted about an hour yesterday.

DGS2 was delightful yesterday and we had a very good day. Not even the tiniest hint of a tantrum. I spent all afternoon having to pretend to be Dilys in the shop from Fireman Sam. “Sam” came in and asked for some spicy pickles. He probably needed them after all the fires he’d put out. I was in fits of laughter. We will collect his sister from school shortly. She is always sunny tempered.

I hope your DGS2 had a lovely 3rd birthday Grandmabatty. His cake looked great. I hope all is well with Mizuna and her family in Liverpool. And a hasty recovery for Babydoll.

Have a good remaining day everyone.

I was also looking for the good morning thread but rarely post, I am a Londoner , it is bright but freezing cold here

harrigran Wed 20-Nov-24 13:45:25

Good afternoon from a sunny NE where the overnight snow has now melted.
I had been trying to access GN since 8am and kept getting a message saying my session had timed out 🤨
Sister and BIL coming to take me shopping and that is enough excitement for one day.
Stay warm.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Wed 20-Nov-24 13:47:27

Hello everyone from south Manchester! It’s sunny here but cold out. The pavements this morning were pretty icy I had to watch where I planted my boots when I went out early (fasting blood test). Warm and cosy now. Himself has gone to the MacMillan for a reflexology session and I have book club this evening.

Auntieflo Wed 20-Nov-24 13:49:37

Good afternoon one and all.
I had thought it was our internet not responding and kept trying before giving up.
I actually had a sleep after my coffee. Had our Covid vac yesterday and my arm was achey. Better now.
Fun and games at the pharmacy yesterday. We had our Flu vacs a couple of weeks ago, even though we had booked for both, but changed our minds. So yesterday the clinician was thrown, as his records showed that we had had our Covid. Luckily I had my phone, and showed him my calendar entry. After a lot of searching, it was agreed that we could have our vacs. One explanation was that the previous clinician had pre-empted us, and entered the information on our records, and not corrected it.

Good afternoon everyone from a sunny extremely cold Cambridgeshire. No snow but a little icy. I too really missed lying in bed reading the Good morning thread and was up and about earlier! I went shopping this morning and did Next, Sainsbury’s and M & S food. It was busy in the car park but not many about really. I bought a few bits and bobs for Christmas and really good crusty bread for lunch from Sainsbury’s!

I have to stay at DD2’s house tonight to babysit the two little ones as she has a night shift she could not change. She doesn’t normally work when she has the children. I dread the chaos of the school run tmrw morning as the littlest little monkey is so slow at everything and we need to allow half an hour to get to their school by car….. I struggle with cold early mornings!

Do hope mick is ok and managed his bus trip out and will update us later.

Also hope bonnyb is ok as she hasn’t posted that I’ve seen for a few days.

I’m off to clear lunch stuff away empty bins and do the ironing and pack my bag for my sleepover.

Have a good afternoon everyone and keep warm.

DanniRae Wed 20-Nov-24 14:10:12

I don't post very often on the Good Morning thread but Love to read it! Oh how I missed it this morning.....Welcome back Everyone xx

Redcar Wed 20-Nov-24 14:19:37

I hope taichinan is ok too, I don’t think she’s posted for a few days.

Grandmabatty Wed 20-Nov-24 14:38:39

Good afternoon all from Polmont where it's reached the dizzy heights of 2° and still frosty in places. I missed the thread to read this morning so I'm happy it's on now. Glammagran dgs2 had a nice birthday but is still a bit unwell with a bad cough. Wee scone.
Today I have been out for lunch with a group of friends. It was lovely to see them. One reminds me of Ladyleftfieldlover's difficult friend, at least I think that's the poster. My friend has complaints about every place we go to. Her life is always full of stress and drama. We just nod and agree. It's simpler. Today was the boring decor of the restaurant. I won't need much to eat later so a couple of slices of gammon with something will do. Enjoy the rest of the day all

Funnygran Wed 20-Nov-24 14:58:52

I’m another who doesn’t post but reads the Good Morning thread every morning. Really missed it first thing. Love to read what everyone is up to. Very cold but sunny here in South Yorkshire and our pavements are treacherous 😵

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 20-Nov-24 15:26:46

Afternoon all from a freezing cold West Oxfordshire.

Our gardener arrived at 9 am to plant the rest of the bulbs. She probably won’t need to come again until after Christmas,

OH and I have just got back from the U3A monthly lunch. It was delicious and the helpings were enormous!

I am out again this evening to the WI Christmas craft evening.

Have a good rest of the day.

luluaugust Wed 20-Nov-24 15:50:22

Just a quick hello from a sunny, cold W Kent. Best wishes all round

Litterpicker Wed 20-Nov-24 15:59:00

Good afternoon all, from a chilly West Sussex. I thought it was our Wi-Fi playing up and later DH reported we’d had a power cut. I don’t post often because I’m not good at getting going in the mornings but this morning I was rushing to meet a friend for a requested look at her allotment. I was in such a rush that I arrived before 9.30 instead of 10 - I’d had a 9.30am arrangement on Monday and got confused! It was bitterly cold but beautifully sunny so I cycled round the locality for a bit and enjoyed the remaining autumn tree colours.

It’s lovely to see posts from those who read but don’t usually post 😘

DH is adjusting to being on blood thinners for his DVT and his leg is a lot less painful. We are going to a ‘festive linocutting’ craft course on Saturday. He was going to cancel but we decided he could wear gloves or at least one glove, in case his cutting blade slips 😨

I must get back to my boiled fruit cake - the mixture is cooling down ready for the flour and eggs to be added.
I hope Babydoll recovers quickly - poor wee thing.

Good Morning Everyone, although its the afternoon.
Its dry bright and clear here in brackley.
Earlier today I tried three attempts to get into Gransnet but was unable at those attempts.
I have just come on by chance .
Health wise OK,
Take Care,
Mick

Pantglas2 Wed 20-Nov-24 16:59:26

Hello 👋 I’m another who tried earlier but couldn’t access GN until we’d docked here at Grenada 🇬🇩 after our night sailing from Bequia, hope leaving pic comes through…

Love to read good news from FGT and hope all have a slip, trip and fall free day with all that snow and ice - hope it’s gone from north 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 by a fortnight time!

henetha Wed 20-Nov-24 17:36:04

I couldn't access gransnet this morning on either my phone or pc. I was absolutely bereft...thank goodness it's back. 😊

Oldbutstilluseful Wed 20-Nov-24 17:56:39

I really enjoy reading all the ‘doings’ of the good morning posters. I assumed there was a Gransnet problem and missed reading what you are getting up to. so it is a joy to read some of your catchup news. Thank you all so much for sharing your lives with us. It means a lot 😊

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Wed 20-Nov-24 17:59:34

I agree Litterpicker so nice to see different posters names joining in. 👋 everyone!

Grammaretto Wed 20-Nov-24 18:12:52

Good evening from the Scottish Borders. Very cold all day but sunny.
I tried to log on today but realised the site was down so carried on with the day. Yarn group, community lunch, pottery and trying to keep warm.
I'm sitting here wrapped in a woolly blanket, with the heating on, but I'm still cold.
I hope you've all had a good day.

Aprilgem Wed 20-Nov-24 18:40:59

Hello, is this the Good Morning thread to introduce yourself?
Is this the right forum?
Thanks.

Beechnut Wed 20-Nov-24 18:44:08

👋Yes you’re in the right place Aprilgem. It’s started very early in the morning by Mick. Michael12

Hopefully we will see all the new posters again in the Good Morning thread tomorrow.
