Good morning all from Bucks. Howling wind and heavy rain. Got my heater on,s till cold.. Going to take a walk to my pharmacy or shop and stock up some cold medicines. Got a runny nose, thankfully no cough. Had a bad chesty cough in the summer and flu like symptoms.
Have a nice weekend. Extra layers when going out all.

A very late Good morning from a wet and windy mid Essex. We were due to go to Audley End Nr Saffron Walden for the Christmas Special miniature railway ride through the woodland withDD & grandchildren but it’s been cancelled due to the impending storm. Disappointing but a sensible decision. So I’ll crack on with the food preparation for Christmas that I can freeze. Hoping today brings some cheer to those feeling low and unwell, keep safe and warm.

I too had great plans for going out this morning….until the snow started! I don’t like driving in it so plan B….be a lazy article and keep drinking the cuppas that my DH is bringing up! I’m perfectly well …..just being lazy and cosy!
DH is gutted as I usually go out on a Saturday and leave him in peace to watch endless football….not today though !!!!!

We’re almost as cold as outside as the boiler appears to have conked out. 🥶 It’s DH’s birthday too and it looks like it’ll be a day on the sofa, well wrapped up. Hey ho!

Good morning Mick and all from a damp 7°C northwest coast. Storm Bert seems rather quiet at the mo.
First time back at art group yesterday after op’ and v nice to see everyone. White ink on black card, which I find very effective.

Had lunch in town and eating pretty normally now, scampi and chips and the friendly owner, who hadn’t seen me for a while, offered me a free extra coffee, which I declined as can’t eat or drink too much.

On to my covid jab and felt odd in the evening, but read with the YouTube fire crackling on the screen under my heated throw and then watched a very good 40s film, “Woman in the Window’ with Edward G.Robinson.

I know the Central library very well Mizuna, it’s a gem.
I hope Redcar is making good progress after her op’ and thoughts to all🌺

I never made it out, can't get the car out. The trainers are stuck in the snow, so the meeting has been cancelled!
I have been trying to phone as many as many people as possible, especially as some are coming from Kalu's neck of the woods.

I phoned the lovely P.P to let him know, in case we have missed anyone. He said that he will offer them a cup of tea, before they set off home again. What a lovely man!

I am overjoyed at my free morning!

Quite wild and wet so am debating whether I need to go out and deciding I probably don’t. I need to do some food shopping but won’t starve if I leave it for a day or two - the freezer is full and some interesting meals look likely. There are days when having nobody to please but myself feels like a good thing, but I do echo the sentiment that Christmas, and much else, has lost its sparkle.

Our two local airports are now closed due to snow! And local roads are not good. A big change in only 3 hours.

Good morning everyone from a wet Northampton, rain forecast all day. Glad I decided to do my shopping yesterday.

Came home yesterday to a fridge that didn't seem as cold as usual, and it was struggling to get down to the required temperature, even on the coldest setting. Moved some of the food to the garage fridge, and decided to order a new one; it must be at least 15 years old, so can't complain. Lots of measuring to make sure I picked the right size and door fitting, as it is an integrated fridge. New one will be delivered Tuesday, old one disconnected and removed, new one installed, (hopefully).

Also yesterday decided I needed to call the plumber about the en-suite shower; the on/off tap keeps sticking, and it keeps running cold during a shower, but can leave that till Monday. Thank goodness I have a shower in the family bathroom.

Today will be spent making the Christmas sausage rolls - according to the family, shop bought ones will not do at Christmas; it must be Mum's home-made! I love making them, will keep me busy, and of course I have to try a few, for quality control purposes....

Good morning all and the wind has just started to huff and puff here in Essex. 💨.

I’m glad I have nowhere to go today. Dh and ds1 have planned to go to a footie match, but I think they’ll cry off.
Dd is taking little DGD to a craft afternoon and will come here until she has to pick her up at 4. I’ll probably run them home.

I’ll wrap some presents and check the Christmas list. I’m doing quite well. Birthdays as well 😬.

We had a lovely lunch with our pals yesterday. 9 of us for DH’s birthday. The food and staff were perfect and we all chatted merrily. We’ve been meeting up every week (give or take) for the last 55 odd years. The chaps were all at school together and the ladies keep it going. 😂.

Bellasnanna please do drag that Christmas tree from the garage. It will cheer you and your little lads will be so excited. 🎄👬. Hugs and thoughts to you ❤️

Grandaughter 4 is performing two shows on the first day of their local Panto today. It’s very full on with rehearsals and now she will be in 32 shows 😵‍💫 until February. We feel it’s far too much for a 12 yr old, missing school and long hours. 🤬.

I’ve made good headway with making my Christmas cards so I’ll start putting them together today. Apart from that no plans to go out or anything.

Enjoyed volunteering yesterday, so many patients stopped to chat. After lunch a short, very chilly sea front stroll before the weekly Waitrose trip. A niggly sore throat has developed into something more noticeable, an indoor pottering weekend ahead seems the way to go.

With thoughts to all finding life less easy just now. Hope Saturday is kind to us all.

Here in West Yorkshire very thick with snow. In North Yorkshire where our son lives very thick with snow too and it is still coming down.

Good morning from a rainy W Kent. Trying to decide whether to go and do the shopping or have it delivered. I am getting very lazy. Yesterday’s visit to the Consultant for my cataracts went well and the left eye will be done soon as it is really bad, always something to look forward to! Curry to make for this evening.

A quick Good morning to you Mick and everyone as I'm about to go into town for my Covid jab. With some trepidation as the rain is starting to turn into sleet and it's still quite dark. I have a little shopping to do and then home to hunker down and worry about the strong winds. It's a wind tunnel down the back of our houses and I worry about a fence which one neighbour made solid during the summer.

Good morning from a rainy, dull and grey Black Country. At least the snow and ice has all gone.

Went over to Mums yesterday to top up her food supplies. Went on the bus as it was still quite lethal here on our estate, and being on a hill didn't want to risk it. Then walked to Lidl as it was quite icy over there. Mum stayed in the warm.

Strip the bed and housework today, as it looks like a day in. May make a start on writing Christmas cards. I only send to close family now.

Good morning everyone it’s raining and very windy here in south Manchester! We have an amber weather warning in place.

I’m minding L’il Miss for a couple of hours later today as her mum has an appointment at the hair salon and dad is out on a works doo - city centre Manchester, pub to pub. 😁 🍺

No other plans so this evening we will just keep warm, cosy and relax with tv, books and some good food from the larder.

Apparently, when the wind is this strong they have to lock the wind turbines as they would get damaged. So it is not just wind we need but the correct type of wind. Isn't science wonderful?

Morning all DH and I are off to London today to meet up with relatives we haven’t seen for yonks. I expect Covent Garden will be heaving, but it will be very Christmasy 🎄🎄🎄

Karmalady I ordered a dryrobe from Amazon at 9.20am yesterday it was delivered at 6.40pm, no wonder they are so busy, the service and price are excellent.

Good morning from a still and drizzly Suffolk. Off later to the Christmas bazaar in the Arts Centre in our nearest small town. It is usually full of locally made items by local artists and crafts people including interesting plants.

It has in previous years been a good source of presents. Lunch afterwards in our favourite pub and the home by 3pm for the shopping delivery. The wind is predicted to increase from a breeze to a much stronger force but not as bad as in some other parts of the country. Hope those living there escape with no damage.
