Good morning from Bristol. Looking out, the pavement is wet, but it doesn’t seem to be raining. Yet.
I’ve been awake for over 2 hours - it’s going to be a loooong day.
Yesterday, we had a good Spanish class, though one lady keeps complaining that the tutor speaks too fast. My other criticism is that the students want exact translations rather than the meaning and interpretation of the words…
I went to DD’s for tea. They took an age to set it up, between Iris’ many tantrums and sulking. I find it so very wearing that the family try to cajole her at every turn. Personally, I’d ignore her, carry on without her and she’d soon learn…
The tea was delicious, DD was pleased with the little extra presents I gave her. I had already given her three Clematis Montana for the garden.
Once again,I was wiped out by the time I got home, and, stuffed with tea, I went to bed early. I did watch th3 silly “Return to Paradise “ though. Escapism.
Today should be reasonably quiet, and I face another full on week.
May the weekend be kind to you (despite the weather forecast). Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning. Snowing heavily here in Yorkshire so looks like a staying in and snuggling down day. Take care everyone.

Good morning from s somerset, the weather sounds bad, noisy wind and rain plus it will be dark and gloomy all day

It will be an indoor day and I will get myself going after breakfast. I have a guest room to clear and beds to make, I know my mind will be easier when that is done. Food for vegans is organised and their bathroom is ready, a few last minute preps today and then kntting, this time I will work on my jumper ufo, using my jumper weight of home spun corriedale wool, which is so soft

My parcel did not arrive yesterday, after waiting in all day, it was DX, I sent messages last night. No wonder amazon have so many customers, they are reliable. Last night, I made two good supported tool-hanging systems for my shed, ready to install next week

Have a good day

harrigran Sat 23-Nov-24 06:19:40

Good morning from a dry and not frosty NE, forecast is for light snow shower in the next hour, it won't lie though because it is going to be 8 degrees today.
Yesterday's appointment with the GP was a waste of time, he didn't tell me anything more than the letter from the cardiologist had.
During the afternoon I made a big pan of carrot and sweet potato soup.
Today GD has rehearsal from 9am until 6pm so DS says he will visit after dropping her off. I think I will ask if he would like lunch out, saves me cooking.
Have a good weekend.

Morning all from a damp West Oxfordshire.

It is Stir up Sunday tomorrow so today I will prepare the Christmas pudding mixture ready to steam tomorrow. In the meantime, OH who made his first ever cake yesterday (a honey and cinnamon loaf) will ice it today and take it to his Bee Association together with jars of his honey. I will go along later to watch the judging and have dinner.

I’ve wrapped all the Christmas presents for my Australian relatives. I’ll post them on Monday.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all. It’s raining at the moment in Glasgow but heavy snow is predicted later.

An at home day for me anyway as I have had no sleep. Lights out eventually at 2.00am, tossed and turned until 5.00pm when gave in to any attempt at falling asleep. I am having coffee in bed hoping to drop off at some point. Feel like the wreck of the Hesperus this morning.

A neighbour dropped in for a coffee and a blether yesterday which was so nice of her to do. When she left it was time to pick GD2 up from school for our Friday afternoon catch up. What a ray of sunshine she is keeping me updated with her school/social life. Lots of study at present for prelims next week.

Best wishes for a pleasant Saturday to all.
Stay safe and warm

Good morning from Malta where the high today will be 20°C and the low 11°C 😱🥶

Yesterday had a text from my friend asking if I fancied a coffee. I’d already had one but dropped everything and walked up the road as fast as I could to meet her.

We had a pleasant couple of hours then I had my weekly hair appointment after which I popped into Eurospin which is an Italian Lidl-type store because they have the best digestive biscuits , not overly sweet and only €1.29 for a big packet.

Also bought a huge poinsettia for €4.49 which will be my only nod to the festivities. I can’t be bothered to heave the tree and all the other paraphernalia from the garage. Christmas lost its sparkle for me when DH died, in fact so did life in general. Sorry to be a misery but it’s how I feel.

I’m babysitting the boys this evening as DD3 has her graduation ceremony . She has gained another qualification to enable her to teach older children. I admire her and have no idea how she manages her busy life and fits in studying as well. Clearly takes after her father!😄

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Good morning g from Durham, where there’s a couple of inches of snow. My house is at the top of the development, so I think it’ll be an indoor day, although Little Dog will need a walk. DD2 is driving back from Edinburgh today - she’ll need to be extra-careful. As harrigran says, the forecast is for 8 degrees, so I’m hoping that will see off the white stuff later, although I can hear the cars on the main road behind me compacting it.
I was weary last night and came to bed early, which was unwise, as I’ve been awake since 4am.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a dark but very wet South Yorkshire. I was going to meet DD in town today for lunch and a mooch round some artisan shops that have opened recently, and M&S, but it is chucking it down and will be all day. I have to go out at some point because I’m running out of milk and also need to do my weekly shop. Other than that, it will be a day continuing with knitting, a new book, and various jobs around the house😩.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from gusty Wiltshire.

Today we are driving to visit DD1 and family who live about an hour and a half away near Reading. We will be travelling in lots of wind and rain both today and tomorrow when we drive back. Not looking forward to the drive at all but will enjoy their favourite, fabulous Indian as always. It gets booked up a couple of weeks in advance it’s so popular. We will exchange Christmas cards as I’m not prepared to post any cards I don’t have to. If you have many cards to post it’s apparently cheaper to fly to certain European destinations and to post cards from there.

DD2’s wedding photos have finally arrived online so when I get a chance I will peruse them. There are hundreds.

Have the best day you can everyone.

DanniRae Sat 23-Nov-24 07:09:55

Some flowers to cheer you up x

God morning everyone from Essex, it’s just getting light but I don’t know what the weather is doing. We don’t have all the severe weather warnings that most of the the rest of the country has, so I guess it will be windy and wet and mild.
bellasnanna I understand how you feel, since my DH died life has certainly lost its sparkle. I do still enjoy the Christmas preparations though and usually have a tree and some sparkly lights around the garden. Not sure about this year, as I’m still at DD1s recovering from my hip surgery.
kalu the nights are very long when you can’t sleep aren’t they? Hope you manage to get a nap in today.
Saturdays are busy here, both granddaughters have numerous activities for most of the day and I think the 9 year old has a party to go to this afternoon. I’ll carry on with my exercises and watch the comings and goings around me!
Have the best day possible everyone and stay safe in the weather.

Good morning all, from a wet and windy Oxfordshire.

Lots of dusting to do today as the builders dont work weekends and everything seems to be covered in a fine layer of gritty dust, although I’ve used door snakes ( is that what they are called?) across the bottom of the doors to our other rooms, so it shouldn’t be too much to do, then change the bedding,

MrOops has the flu and cough that is going around, so his bed will need doing as well. The plan was that we would both sleep upstairs whilst the bathroom is being done as the loo is up there, but I don’t want to catch whatever he has, so I’m downstairs and have to creep up if I want to use the loo, no late night drinks for me!

I was in bed at 8.30 last night, so once my head wobble sorts itself out I’ll be raring to go.

Bathroom will now take 3 weeks instead of 10 days because every item that they sent was either the wrong size, totally wrong design or wrong colour. As the replacements won’t be here until Monday, the Tiler and Electrician have taken other work on until Thursday as they can’t start on a Monday morning.
To say I was upset was an understatement, so was our fitter he stormed off with the radiator in his van to sort out the supplier.

Thank goodness MzOops isn’t coming home until the 7th Dec. I will just have her room back to normal as she steps off the train. She is in the High Tatras at the moment, very cold and lots of snow.

Bellasnonna💐

Have a good weekend everyone, stay warm and dry if you can.

grandMattie Sat 23-Nov-24 07:34:13

Your comment about only upstairs loo reminded me of when we were to I’ve back fromJersey. DH was house hunting,I had three under 4 and couldn’t bear the idea of flying then visiting houses with the babies. I let poor DH do it all. He asked me what I’d like in the house. The only thing I asked for was TWO loos, one up one down! 😂

Good morning from my hotel room in Liverpool where outside it's wet and windy. Went to London on Thursday to see the clothes on show at the V&A, something I've always wanted to do. Loved their topiary, puts mine to shame. 😁 Yesterday I sat in the beautiful city centre library here and, being a bookworm, was in heaven.

My daughter snuck into the guest bed in my room last evening so there will be lots more chat today. Her husband is well now and loves her to spend time with me. Today I'll be her virtual shopper around the big stores here, something we both enjoy and miss when I'm in Cornwall. (She's blind, for any newbies on here.)

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. No snow here yet.

Our Christmas craft Market opens today so yesterday we potters set up
our stall. It's indoor and will run for 4 weeks.

It's still dark and my Helper's last day
I shall miss her but she won't be far away.

Bellasnanna commiserations
💐 it's almost 4 years to the day since DH died but this Christmas I shall have half the family here for probably the last time in the old house. I am determined to sell up and move in the Spring.

Sorry to hear that so many of us are
poorly. Get well soon.
Have the best day you can.

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 23-Nov-24 07:48:40

GM I wish we had lost a bit of space in the upstairs bedroom for a shower as well! But 26 years ago with only the 2 of us, we didn’t want to spend any more money on the place.

I wish we had.

ginny Sat 23-Nov-24 07:52:22

Good morning. Not looked outside yet but I cyhear the weather and it’s not good.

Today we should have been going to an English Heritage event but sadly it has been cancelled due to expected high winds. Disappointing but we shall still meet up with all 3 DDs and two youngest DGSs for lunch and probably an afternoon of games.

Wishing you all a good day. Stay safe and warm.

Jaxjacky Sat 23-Nov-24 07:54:22

Morning from a rainy S Hants, what a difference in a day, it was bitter yesterday, 9 now.
Yesterday was pottering, Tesco delivery and in the evening our local had its ‘official launch’. A well known local footballer did the honours, I got our grandson an autograph, as we left the buffet and disco kicked in, once upon a time…
Today we’re due high winds and torrential rain, a newspaper and sport day.

Good morning from Shropshire where we have had overnight rain and it is forecast to continue for the next couple of days.

We went to visit mum yesterday. It was a big birthday for one of the residents so a group of musicians were there singing and entertaining. It was really good fun.Mum joined in clapping and singing along which was a joy to see☺️

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve still lots of snow around and more due later. I’d like to go out if we can, it just depends on the weather ⛄️
Bellasnanna well done to your DD and 💐 for you both
Have a great time shopping with your DD mizuna and pleased to hear your SiL is better

Good morning all from a soggy, windy North Leicestershire.

Not a lot on the cards here. I will walk into the village if the weather calms down a bit.

Have the best day possible everyone.
