Good morning from a very wet and windy village on the South Coast, the sea is very rough and very high!
Sunday lunch is underway and then it will be an afternoon of watching TV.

Good morning all.
A reader not a poster but I have come over all nostalgic at your posts today.
Times when my C were young, my H was alive and Christmas was so special.
Cake and pudding made, mince pies made and frozen, although I will admit to not being the world’s best pastry maker.
All I have is memories now but they are very happy ones.
Poor Dolly , I can’t think of much worse at 9 than to have a much anticipated party cancelled.
I hope it can be quickly rearranged and the cake will keep.
marydoll poor dolly I hope her party can be rearranged.
I also used to make the dessert with Maryland cookies and cream, my children used to call it caterpillar cake because I put a smartie face on it. A friend told me it was actually called “hotel leofric”,but I can’t imagine a hotel using Maryland cookies in a dessert! Haven’t had it for ages!
Good morning everyone from a bright and very windy mid Essex.
My daughters know better than to ask me to make anything for them or the grandchildren, they can sew much better than I can!
I’m slowly making progress after the hip replacement, although it’s still very achy. I’d like to go out but would probably be blown over in the wind.
DD1 has taken the 9 year old to the cinema, DSilaw has taken the 6 year old for her riding lesson, so it’s just me and the dog at the moment.
DD2 may call in later with my post. She checked my house last night and fortunately all is well there, but I guess there may be a few flower pots blown over.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning everyone from a very wet and windy Northampton, no intention of venturing out today. I may put some Christmas music on and write my Christmas cards.
Busy day yesterday making my Christmas sausage rolls - made 4 dozen, but had to try some for quality control purposes of course, so there are only 45 left now.... I was very pleased with them; experimented this year with adding curry powder to the sausage meat mixture, but could hardly taste it. More needed next year!
That's all my Christmas cooking done for this year - puddings✓ mince pies ✓ sausage rolls✓. Oh I forgot the also requested ham, but I shall leave that till the 23rd Dec.
Hope all have a pleasant Sunday.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Snow has all gone and it's sunshine and blue sky!
Last night I lit the fire and we watched the film Joy on Netflix. Rather good I thought.
I shall take my Helper to her new abode this morning. The car is packed with all her belongings including bed linen, photo frames, and all the paraphernalia a young person needs.
The rest of the day I shall see my pottery friends as we are preparing for yet another Christmas fair.
Sorry you are in such pain Kalu. 😢
I hope everyone has some joy today.
Good morning from a blowy W Kent. Another day without our usual walk, however plenty of ironing looking at me, plus will cook at lunchtime.
I remember an old family friend asking my mum if she would make her kitchen curtains for her. Mum was about 83 at the time. I was horrified but she seemed rather pleased to be asked and then grumbled to me. They did get made.
Poor Dollie hard at her age to accept these ups and downs
Best wishes to all
Oh Mary, what a shame for Dollie.I can imagine how upset she must have been.I hope it can be rearranged🤞🏻
My mum used to make that dessert!
Good morning everyone. Wet and rather dark here today. Have the best day you can. X
Vile morning, dark, very wet and high winds so I shan’t venture out. It is though less cold so it’s not all gloom and doom, though I am not sure quite what to do with the day. Shall need the lights on all day, though. And we haven’t even reached December!
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 8°C.
Another here, who had a dreadful night, due to hip pain. Trying not to disturb DH, I tried to take painkillers in the dark at 5am, they turned out to be Lanprozole! Fortunately,I did realise before, it was too late.
You have my sympathy, Kalu. 💐
Yesterday, out town was gridlocked by snow and ice. No buses ran at all. Dollie's birthday party had to be cancelled, understandably, she was devastated.
Early morning, I got a phone call, from the Safeguarding trainer, informing me that she was stuck in the snow.
I then had to phone our parishioners to stop them travelling.
However, the Diocesan Offices were closed and the trainer had difficulty contacting those from further afield, because she had no contact details.
Once I had dealt with everything, I realised that a had a welcome, free morning. Did I rest? Of course not. I baked and caught up on al, the admin I didn't get done this week.
For the first time in many moons, I made a dessert, involving Triple Sec, Maryland cookies and cream. It was absolutely delicious, but I did overdo the alcohol somewhat! 🥴
#Not a lazy gran. 😉
I'm off to Mass and catch up with the tasks I couldn't do yesterday. My first task is to retrieve my car. I had to abandon it in the deep slush last night, it was too dangerous to attempt our street especially as a delivery driver was tailgating me.
I have no idea how I made it down the hill, without falling.
GM, you sound quite fed up, your family ask a lot of you. I would have given up and bought them all matching pyjamas.
Bella, no need to apologise, we are all here to support each other. 💐
Wishing you all a pleasant Sunday. Thinking of Blossoming and our other missing regulars.
Good morning Mick and everyone from damp Carlisle where heavy clouds loom.
The forecast storm didn't arrive here yesterday, the wind was brisk, the rain was heavy most of the day, that was it. Strangely, as the afternoon turned into evening, the temperature rose steadily.
I had an early morning drive into town after scraping the driving sleet off my car, it turned into rain as I went. I was first in the queue for my covid jab. When I mentioned previous adverse reactions to the Moderna vaccine, the practitioner fetched Pfizer so hopefully I will not have to spend a day or two curtailing my activities. So far the only painful arm is the one with the injured shoulder which is very very slowly improving.
Today will definitely be indoors with the newspapers, magazines and book and praying that the forecast wind will not arrive. Later, pan-fried pheasant breast with mushrooms and lots of veggies.
Wishing you all the best possible day.
Good morning from County Durham. The snow has thankfully disappeared leaving shiny wet pavements.
Yesterday was such a lazy day but I did manage to create and then order the birthday cards I need for a rush of upcoming family ones. GD 2 decided she wanted a chocolate fountain for her birthday gift, courtesy of the Black Friday sales of a well known retailer, so that's ticked off too.
We're considering shortening our Christmas card list as the expense of postage is going to put such a strain on some budgets. It's so sad as many people must look forward to that yearly contact from friends and family afar. Having said that my Aunt, who died last year at the age of 94, had become an avid FB user!
No plans for today other than go with the flow.
Have the best day you can everyone.
Good morning from Suffolk where it is windy but no rain yet although plenty fell yesterday.
The Christmas bazaar was very busy which was good to see given the weather and we bought a few bits and pieces. A local artist I know was there as usual and she mainly produces Lino cut pictures. We bought several cards which are beautiful. I always give one to DH so we keep a reminder each year of her talent.
Gingster all good wishes for your DH’s birthday tomorrow. I have an 8.45am appt for an ECHO at the nearest hospital, the best part of an hour away when travelling at that time in the morning. I am being monitored as part of a research project because of an inherited condition my late brother had. No problems identified for me so far so I hope for the same result tomorrow.
Morning Mick, morning All from a horribly wet and windy corner of Somerset.
Did little yesterday. Slept for most of the morning then just put the paper mountain away. Today the plan is to sort the Christmas decorations and later in the week give the excess to a charity shop where they are being requested by the end of the month. No thought of venturing out today, too wild out there.
Another here thinking those pyjama bottoms were a huge ask grandmattie. It sounds as if many outside events will be postponed today, disappointing but safety first.
Take care everyone. Have the best day you can.
Good morning from a wet and windy NE.
The weather was dreadful yesterday and was doubtful that DS and GD would visit. Their village was badly hit by the snowfall with abandoned cars everywhere.
GD was supposed to be at an all day rehearsal but it was cancelled when they reached the school, power cut.
They asked about my estate and by noon the snow was melting so they visited and we went to a local restaurant and had lunch.
By the time they left to go home last night it was12 degrees and the wind had changed direction.
Quiet day for me with minimal cooking and reading my novel.
Stay safe.
Thanks, re.pyjamas. It is the cutting out that was the problem; the sewing is a doddle. Do it sometime as I have another heavy week next week. Seems that events make a perfect storm of 3-5 things happening each day… 🙁
Good morning Mick and all from a wet northwest coast.
Quiet day yesterday and today I’m hoping to go to a Christmas fair. It’s quite modest in the next village, but I prefer it to the crowded big light switch on in the town.
Sorry you are in pain Kalu, I have bouts of sciatica and it’s not nice.
Thoughts to all🌺
Good morning all and it’s very blustery here but the sun is straining to peep through. I’m worried about our cottage by the sea. We’ve already lost one large summerhouse in a storm. I’ll message my neighbour.
Today we’re out for lunch with ds1 and family as it’s DH’s and DS1’s birthday tomorrow. He was born 6 weeks early on his dad’s 24th birthday. They love spending it together. ❤️.
Yesterday I watched a full 6 episodes of After the Party. 😵💫. Took the dog out half way through .dh was at footie.
Hope all poorlies feel a bit better today and take care all. 💨🍃🎐🌬️
Good morning from a very wet and windy N. Bucks.
We were to have youngest DGS this morning while his brother is at rugby but I’ll be surprised if that goes ahead..
We had a lovely afternoon yesterday ( our English Heritage outing having been cancelled) lunch and the games and fun at DD3s house. I love to see our 3 DDs together they are all such good friends as well as Sisters.
Otherwise today I shall finish the craft club tree for next weeks festival and wrap a few gifts. Also order a few more. Hopefully some art work later.
Take care in the awful weather .
Good morning from an incredibly windy Essex coast. It's loosened a strip of metal under a neighbours window. I will have to find someone to come and repair it tomorrow. The joy of self managing the block and being a Director.
My middle brother got married yesterday (third time lucky). His new wife is lovely and hopefully they will be very happy together.
We are going to their wedding party in January.
DH is going to rugby with the boys soon, a long drive, I hope it goes ahead.
Enjoy your day everyone and stay safe xx
Good morning all from a wet and windy Black country, the bins weren't emptied last week and are blowing down the road rubbish everywhere.
Started another book yesterday so that's today sorted.
Chicken later my culinary delights certainly do not compare to LLFL mouth watering menus.
Stay safe those of you who are travelling, enjoy your Sunday everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️
Bellasnana
FGT I agree with you re the pyjamas. I’m also a #lazygran I’m afraid.🫣
I'm afraid I agree too about the pyjamas! I am a lazy gran too!
