Soop's kitchen for caring and sharing...
(1001 Posts)Welcome dear Kitcheners. I am very happy to be opening the door to my favourite Granspals.
We have a new Aga. The atmosphere is cosy ' The buffet is ready for the sharing of. In the quiet corner we have music to suit all tastes. There are reclining chairs and cosy blankets and if all one wants to do is relax, then please do so.
By the way, it is a dear pal Baggs birthday tomorrow. There is a birthday cake in the larder. There is also plenty of Champagne with which to toast her.
I am off to my bed.
Thank you all for being extra special people.

Do hope there are better times ahead for the Soops, who have more to contend with than anyone could cope with. Useful day. - sitting with my lovely neighbour to relieve her daughter for an hour or two, sending off a parcel of books to the family’s newest member, chaps arrived to complete the surround on the new sitting room fire, but no Wonderful Cleaner because her car has died on her. Now contemplating shoving a moussaka in the oven for my supper and then pouring a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Could be a lot worse.
Glad to hear that the Soops have power. Ladyleftfieldlover it's been a difficult day for you.
Dgs2 had an emotional day today. Everything that went wrong ended in floods of tears. He's suffering from going to nursery all day and is just very tired. Dgs1 had a good day at school. His current obsession is snakes so I think I'll buy him a snake book at the weekend.
After school drop off, I did a quick shop at Aldi because they ate me out of house and home yesterday. Then I made a big pot of lentil soup in the slow cooker. I tidied up the kitchen and my bedroom then hoovered throughout.
Tonight I'll make a chicken curry for dinner. Tomorrow I'm back in the library in the afternoon for a couple of hours. The chicken curry will do tomorrow too. I'm going to have to track down an aerial fitter as mine has moved and I've lost a few channels. Have a good evening Kitcheners
Pleased to hear the Soops have power. x
Hello kitchen people.
Thanks for the updates Baggs on the Soops. I’m thinking of them both.
I’ve had a curate’s egg kind of day. It was lovely collecting my new car! However, the day started with a message from my brother’s partner in Australia. He is in hospital again with a suspected heart attack but he was seeing an oncologist in a few weeks about suspected cancer. Then elder son confirmed that I’m looking after my granddaughter this weekend while son and his partner go house hunting in Scotland. He also talked about the rift between he and his brother.
Finally, after OH’s dreadful urology appointment yesterday, he has decided to have the operation they suggested privately rather than wait at least six months. Hey ho.
Virtual hugs to the soops. I hope they soon have heat and light again. Also hope that Mr Soop’s hospital visit wasn’t too painful.
Hope the Imp is feeling better GG13. My littlest granddaughter has been glued to her mummy since Sunday, with some sort of strange bug, no doubt picked up from nursery.
Have a good evening everyone, hope Storm Ivo misses us completely, we’ve had enough rain and wind!
Woohoo! Just heard the soops have power. I sent lots of YAYS and hugs from all.
Baggs, thank you for the update on the soops. Add my love and best wishes to them.
And ask soop what colour she would like the next kitchen to be
painted.
Many virtual hugs on the way from Boston to Kintyre. The poor Soops, they live in a beautiful place, but in this weather they`re paying the price for it. Baggs, please give them my love.
Oh Baggs ..please send my love to Soop and Mr Soop. They so do not need this in top of everything else. I really hope that the national Grid gets them back on very soon.
Thank you baggs for updating us on Mr&MrsSoop how awful for them both, I hope things improve soon and sending a group 🤗
Hope The Imp is feeling much better soon GG13, that made me chuckle about your passport photo! I’m sure I’d be the same!
Oh dear GG13! If you want a disguise, just leave off the makeup!
Thank you, Baggs, for keeping us up to date with news from the soops. That's a long time to be without power.
Sending virtual hugs, indeed, a virtual group hug needed. xx
Warm thoughts for you all, especially those with extra worries & problems just now.
So sorry to hear about the soops they really are having a tough time of it. Sending virtual hugs to them both.💐
Thank you for letting us know baggs please pass on my best wishes if you are in contact.
Oh dear I must look rough today, tried to open my banking app on my new iPad and was asked to upload passport photo and selfie.
Was informed by the AI check that they didn’t match, just had to apply a full face of makeup and redo my hair, finally accepted it was me 🙀
Oh dear I am sorry to learn of the soops predicament, hope it is remedied soon.
My day hasn’t gone to plan, The Imp was sent home from school after 30mins this morning. Apparently he said he felt sick.
He has been eating me out of house and home, we have Lego all over the sitting room floor, colouring all over the occasional table, just waiting to see what our next activity will be 😹😹😹
Thank you for letting us know baggs. More stress isn’t needed for sure. Lots of love to the soops, Please accept all help offered, hope mr soop had positive news from the hospital.
Dear soops I am so sorry you are in such a pickle. If only we could teleport you to one of our homes to be cosseted!
Much love xx
Oh Baggs that’s dreadful news, how miserable for them, surely they’re a priority for power restoration, big hug on its way.
The best news SueD I’m pleased.
Some sorry news from the soops. They have been without power since mid-morning on Friday. They have had help from friends/neighbours and the electricity 'engineers'. I hope they have managed to keep warm with their wood burning stove.
MrS spent yesterday doing one of his hospital trips to Glasgow - for the surgeon to inspect his scalp I presume.
The poor soops!! Their lives must be such an exhausting struggle at the moment. Please send virtual hugs.
Sorry ladies, I went to bed early! I ended up not sleeping well however. The library is in an awful state. I discovered toys, discarded bottles of water and various non book things, all hidden behind books which were in no order at all; fiction mixed with non fiction. So yesterday I started on one bookcase and tidied it up. I have a lot to do and some rearranging to do. A number of visitors popped in to say hello, including dgs1's teacher.
After a couple of hours, I went to a friend's house for lunch and a catch up with a small group. We can't get together frequently because of commitments, and it's always lovely when we do.
Good news sued. Hope you can both rest well tonight.
Glad to hear that, SueD, thinking of you both.
SueDonim
Just a note to say that Dh is now home.
TOYA. Xx
