Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark with signs of rain here in brackley this morning .
Today , with brother in law and sister staying in guest rom .
I am unsure as to myself ,as I have been continually going to toilet in the night .
Took a dose of lapperamide capsules hoping that will ease things .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside 12°C northwest coast.
Irritated by yesterday as I had mixed up the date for a church Christmas Fair in the next village, so missed it and didn’t go to the symphony concert in the evening as my newly operated on innards played up. Stayed in and watched a Poirot episode instead. I have to write down the episodes I watch as I can never remember which I have seen.

However, rather pleased with my hand drawn white ink Snow Queen Christmas card on black paper as I have added glitter (liquid, so not messy) and it looks good.

Tonight into the city for Greek meal with old pianist friend who has recently moved house and has found it all stressful.

Sorry you are still having problems Mick and lovely photos here today on the first of the month🌺

L’il Miss wanted me to see where the Elf had hidden. She found him this morning and was delighted to see his return. Aw!

Stilllearning Sun 01-Dec-24 09:25:18

Kalu he’s Pickle!

Good morning all from a wet Black country.
Haven't read through yet but could not fail to notice the delightful photo from Susan one to treasure.
Opened the curtains to find a Kestrel having its breakfast on the neighbours lawn looked like a pigeon feathers everywhere, not a part of nature I like to see.
Have a great day everyone whatever your plans, virtual hugs for those under par☀️.

Grammaretto Sun 01-Dec-24 09:01:41

Spellcheck doesn't cope well with the Scots tongue Kalu but it makes me giggle.🤣

Luckily I had frozen my bank cards rather than cancel them so saved a lot of faff.
Tender, happy photo Susan. One to treasure.

Kalu Sun 01-Dec-24 08:56:22

Such a touching photo Susan
Stilllearning what an adorable kitten. We had one of a similar colour and named him Fudge.

Kalu Sun 01-Dec-24 08:53:41

Oh dear. I really should proof read.
foutering about
huge fan.

Morning from South Lanarkshire, the Elf on the Shelf has returned again and I thought you might like to see his arrival in my youngest DGC’s house.
Just received the pictures.

Hoping everyone has a decent day.

Kalu Sun 01-Dec-24 08:51:13

Good morning all. A milder day in Glasgow where a high of 13deg is predicted along with rain in the afternoon.

To add to my other ailments, I had a bout of vertigo yesterday .
A bit of a flat day yesterday but, fingers crossed, I appear to have no vertigo symptoms at least. Rain or not, I intend to spend some time in the garden fostering about. As I am a hue fan of warm white fairy lights indoors and out at this time of year, I will check all are in working order before setting them up. Not really a fan of Christmas, I do enjoy the decor side of things. 🎄

Happy 2nd birthday to your DGD Redcar
A relief to find your purse Grammaretto but you could do without the inconvenience of replacing your cards.
GM 💐
Hope you feel better soon .Bellasnana

Have a good day all

Taichinan Sun 01-Dec-24 08:50:17

Oooh FGT, what a spoilsport that waitress is 😂😉

Taichinan Sun 01-Dec-24 08:45:17

Good morning all. A grey mizzly start to the day on the Angus coast, but it's due to brighten up soon to give another warmish day. Tomorrow is due to be half today's temperature with -2° during the night! Like you grandmattie I find this yo-yoing of weather and temperature so unsettling!
What an absolutely beautiful photo of your mum with her great-grandson Susan! One to treasure.
I'm loving hearing about everyone's preparations for Christmas but can't seem to get into the mood myself. It gets harder every year! Perhaps a few wrapped presents round my "tree of light" will help - but first some tai chi paperwork and money-balancing must be done. And a vanishing of my earworm of the Beatles' "Yesterday" would help too.
Keep the Christmas stories coming folks! 🎄 🎁 🎄

Good morning from Lancashire, it’s dark and rainy. The Santa trains will be running from the railway museum today, I will give them a wave as I usually do. I will also listen to chapter 1 of The Christmas Chronicles.

Have a good day everyone 🌻

Good morning Mick and everyone from a dark and very wet Carlisle

Mick, I second Oops's suggestion of keeping a food diary. I've wondered about you doing that myself as you seem to go for a while without problems and then this happens. Our guts seem to get crankier as we get older anyway without them being messed about by operations!

Yesterday I paid an early visit to Sainsbury, mostly for some fresh food then it was home for a long phone chat with my sister. I got out in the garden after lunch for some planting whilst keeping a wary eye on the dark, heavy clouds gathering. However, it stayed dry until bedtime.

Today, my planned early walk is off, I'll probably do some indoor exercise and get on with my book, just a page turner then the charity shop can have it back. I could try out my new, little carpet washer....but I tend not to do anything useful on a Sunday unless it's the garden.

Do have a good day everyone whatever the weather.

Marydoll Sun 01-Dec-24 08:36:49

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, it's 12°C.

Bella, I hope you feel better soon

Hopefully, you can spend time with your family, without feeling unwell, Mick.
I am unapologetic for being blunt. I know it is a waste of time, but you really should see your GP., Mick.
My BIL was in a similar position to you. He nearly died from a blocked bowel, due to taking Loperamide to alleviate diarhorrea, the surgeon said that he was minutes from death, He did not visit his GP and self medicated, out of fear that the cancer had returned. It had. 😪

I am another, who hasn't much to report, after yet another dreadful night, so I shall just wish you all a pleasant Sunday.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sun 01-Dec-24 08:36:02

Good morning everybody from south Manchester where it’s chucking it down. Set for all day apparently Alexa tells me. Mild enough at 13°C later. I’m off to my book club Christmas meal at 4pm and really looking forward to it as 12 of us can make it. So my stepfather and Himself will lunch today without me. When I rang to reserve a table at one of our regular haunts for them, the waitress said “I’ll keep an eye on them for you to see that they behave themselves!”.

Jaxjacky Sun 01-Dec-24 08:32:47

Good morning from a damp S Hants, first window opened on my Advent calendar, out for lunch with friends, then to the pub for meat draw adding our bauble to their tree along with other locals.
Yesterday was quiet and downright lazy!
Lovely photo Susan ❤️ pleased your purse turned up Grammaretto.
gMattie 🌹so hard.

Morning everyone from a grey S E Essex, rain is forecast for later.

I had a surprise from DH yesterday he gave me a huge heavy box, it contained The White Company Advent Calendar, I have been spoilt, mist unexpected. I now have two calendars as I always buy myself and DD the M & S beauty one.

Will finish putting the decorations out today, roast chicken for dinner this evening.

Take care 🐇🐇🐇🎄🎄🎄

Grandmabatty Sun 01-Dec-24 08:30:10

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and damp. A lovely photo Susan.
Yesterday I met up with a friend and her daughter for breakfast at the local garden centre. I bought a wee Christmas tree in a pot for beside the front door. I'd just arrived home when my lovely aunt appeared for a coffee. She's younger than me and we always enjoy a blether. In the afternoon I pottered about and got all the washing done and housework sorted.
Today I have new curtains being delivered. I might try to put them up myself rather than wait for Dsil. I intend to footer about with Christmas decorations too and finish writing cards. Later I'll visit mum. Have a good day all

Liberty Sun 01-Dec-24 08:13:29

Good morning from a damp but mild Suffolk. The medieval rood screen in the church over the fence at the bottom of the garden has been restored wonderfully and is being blessed in the monthly service today.

It is regarded as a national treasure and believed to be the only one or possibly one of two because of the triptych of Christ with a saint. I helped in the raising of the money to fund the restoration, a very minor role, so will go to the service although we don’t usually worship there.

Awaiting to hear if DS etc are coming for lunch as it depends on some complicated arrangement the 14 year has,or is,making! As it is a beef casserole, I don’t mind not knowing until nearer the time.

Hope today is a good one for all.

Annypop Sun 01-Dec-24 08:02:14

What an emotional photo Susan. Such love.

ginny Sun 01-Dec-24 08:01:33

Good morning. It sounds a little breezy outside in N. Bucks.
Yesterday we went with friends to a nearby small town to see their lantern parade. . Must have been well over 100 lanterns of all shapes and sizes. Afterwords we had dinner at a local Tandoori restaurant.
Hoping the weather stays dry and mild to day for our towns ‘Dickens Day. Stall and entertainment all around the town and a tree festival. We shall walk down later with some of the family.

Blue Sapphire my DGS (8) was on the Saints field at half time yesterday with other boys from his rugby club. He was so excited.

A good day wished for all especially those who are poorly or troubled.

cornergran Sun 01-Dec-24 07:57:55

Morning Mick, morning All from a wet corner of Somerset. Looks as if it should be brighter later.

Other than a break for lunch in our little garden centre it was Christmas faffing day yesterday. Today there are gifts to wrap for posting, cards to finish and some financial admin. After that I may be able to see the top of the guest bed.

That’s an image to treasure susan.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Annypop Sun 01-Dec-24 07:56:35

Good morning from County Durham. I haven't a clue what it's like outside but forecast is for some rain and light wind.
All the wreaths are completed and ready to go. I used a variety of evergreen foliage this year instead of just holly and am pleased with the result.
We're off to see GS4 perform this afternoon. He has the part of one of the children in Mary Poppins, his first major role. I'm so excited for him. He's quite a reserved little boy normally but becomes alive on the stage.
Have the best day you can everyone.

Grammaretto Sun 01-Dec-24 07:54:35

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's dark and raining steadily.
I just checked the buckets in my living room for drips. The plasterer is due to begin in a week or so to take down the remains of the ceiling and replace it. A big job and the roof must not spring any more leaks!
Quaker meeting here today followed by lunch so I shall make soup and light the fire.
Later the friend who would like to buy my house is coming with his financial advisor to look around.
Then my next Helper is due. I hope they can help clear the sitting room ready for the plasterer!

At least my purse turned up
yesterday. I had left it at home in a
pocket.

As you see I am wrapped up in my own problems when I would far rather be anywhere else preparing for Christmas like many of you.

I hope the medicine works Mick and you can relax and enjoy your sister's visit.
Have a restful Advent Sunday everyone.
