1 A new denture - Help

I have had repair work done on a top partial denture recently. It is now extremely difficult to fit into my mouth and is causing much discomfort when I try to insert it.

Any tips, please? I have seen my dentist and sought help there. Thank you.

Why can't they make it fit better?
I don't understand.

Take it back.

My mother-in-law had to go back three times for adjustments.
She was advised to try it for a few days and if still wrong to go back.
She says it's "marvellous" now.
Good luck.

What sort of repair? Did you have it done via your dentist or direct with the lab?

Thank you all. The dentist managed to fit it in correctly when I went back. I have bought some Bonjela to rub into my gums before trying again. I know that it does fit but cannot get it just right.

As a fellow denture wearer you are very lucky if a new denture fits perfectly from the start. I have always had to make a few trips to iron out the problems. Unless you have had to struggle with ill-fitting dentures you have no idea how painful they can be. Go back and keep going back until they are perfectly comfortable.

I went directly to a dental technician to get mine fitting comfortably after y dentist told me I would get used to them.

That's a great idea LadyGracie

My partner fixed mine. He has a tool called a Dremmel. I just kept telling him where it was hurting/rubbing until it was perfect.
