"Hello everyone,
I’ve been feeling lonely lately, and I know I can’t be the only one. I thought it might be nice to create a space where we can share, chat, and support each other. Whether you’re feeling down or just want a friendly chat, you’re welcome here."

Cabbie21 - Have you got a friendly cafe (or possibly pub?) near you where you could get used to having a coffee or tea? If you tried it regularly you might not feel so alone and it would become familiar? People-watching is great or you could take a book, paper or phone to look at. It's very possible to develop a favourite haunt or two so that it doesn't feel lonely but like a friendly place.
I feel it's 'home from home' in 3 or 4 of the cafes in my town and love visiting them on my own as well as with friends. I just sit and relax, think interesting thoughts and watch the world go by.

Cabbie 21 I am fortunate that I am of an age, yes, quite elderly, and feel easy smiling at people and chatting with them if they respond.. a small Morrisons near to me where I go mostly, so guess most locals and many people will stop and chat a little. of course, not quite the same as having a special friend, I do find people are reluctant to get too friendly, ie meet for a coffee and chat would be so good.

glad to hear you enjoyed your journey ..

love0c how nice to sit outside for your cuppa. That's one of my favourite things to do, particularly in winter, all wrapped up cosy. The photo was taken last Sunday, a very icy morning!

polnan Thu 30-Jan-25 08:34:55

smile

love0c Thu 30-Jan-25 16:35:34

Taichinan ha ha love that photo! that is me too!!! even on holiday. I sit on my balcony, regardless of the weather!!!!

Indiebee Fri 31-Jan-25 15:15:35

Splendid photo Taichinan!! A hood is good!
Made a lot of chocolate tiffin yesterday for part of a discussion group tea after discussing. The good thing about this (or not) is that I had some at lunch and may have a piece for tea and another at supper. Fatness beckons!

Truffle43 Fri 31-Jan-25 19:49:33

Love the photo taichinan I also love to be outdoors. Yesterday was gorgeous I got out my trusty walker and really enjoyed my walk with little dog with me. I walked to a little cafe sat outside and ordered a cream tea. Oh boy did I enjoy it. I must of put miss piggy to shame it was delicious. It is not something I normally do on my own but hey ho I was in the mood. That walk and little treat had me feeling so good. I felt on top of the world . It is amazing how well you feel after even a small amount of time outdoors and would recommend just getting out of the house to anyone who is able. I am still trying to get out each day and in doing this I chat to lots of different people. This makes me feel better in myself. I hope others can try to get outside just to benefit from the change.

Taichinan Sat 01-Feb-25 09:09:05

Good morning all of you, and especially you Polnan. I hope you feel a little brighter as the day goes on. Truffle that sounded a lovely outing yesterday - I love a cream tea!

Truffle43 Sun 02-Feb-25 09:59:09

Good morning all especially Taichinan and Polnan. I had a wonderful thought this morning as I sometimes get really fed up with all the rain we have.
On rainy days I get to use my pretty umbrellas as I have a few bought for me over the years. They can all have an outing one at a time.☔️ yeah misery sorted.

polnan Wed 19-Feb-25 18:15:18

Good to hear y`all again, I have had a particulary "lonely " day..

best wishes to you all.

Indiebee Wed 19-Feb-25 19:40:32

Hello Polnan. Hope you can feel more cheerful soon. Have you got your cat with you? Tell us about her/him / name, colour, age, fur!!

love0c Wed 19-Feb-25 19:56:21

Just yo let you know we have seen 4 foxes while having a ealk around our area in the ladt hour. They just stop and look at you. No fear from them at all. A bit worrying really S they are a wild animal. It is very residential where we live. But very large park and woods nearby and houses with very large gardens.

polnan Thu 20-Feb-25 08:45:03

Good morning all, MissT was a rescue cat, her mum had given birth in some field and a man well rescued them! she was born with a fat tum, when I took her to be "done" (sorry!) the vet said it was reassuring to find that she was not pregnant, due to her fat tum.. so well, you can guess from that she is a fat cat! and yes I do over feed her, try not to,but,,,, she is an indoor cat , mostly.. just turned 7 years now, well I guess this August, (a guessing date) she will be 8! doesn`t time fly! I live in a small 2 bed end terrace, and she has the run of that.. she goes out in the , yes you guessed it a small box like back garden..when the weather is warm for her and not raining, never goes far, thank goodness, I can be a bit anxious. Quite frankly I don`t know what I would have done without her.. I need some company. and yes, as cats do, she sleeps a lot during the day! on "our " bed" nice warm bedroom. oh, grey sort of tabbyish, not a well pronounced stripe,,but thick, short coat.. atishoo!! thats me.. I call her misty, spelled or should that be spelt! duh! MissT.

loveOc I quite foxes,, very occasionally I see one saunter up our small , cul de sac type road during the night time.
